The document discusses how social networks and business networks can be analyzed using value network analysis. It describes how value network analysis can help businesses improve processes, increase innovation, predict issues, and better understand how work gets done. It also provides examples of how value network analysis has been used by organizations like Boeing to improve productivity and business performance.

Bringing the Industrial IoT to life with advanced analyticsPrabal Acharyya
“It’s amazing what’s possible now. We’re combining the world of IoT with PI Integrator and Microsoft innovation so customers can do far more than just the traditional cost-savings types of projects. With these new capabilities, they will be able to do things they were not able to do before, and we’re bringing that together for them.”
Prabal Acharyya, Worldwide Director, IoT, OSIsoft
There’s no shortage of news about the Internet of Things (IoT) these days, but for all the buzz that’s been created, there’s one side of it whose real-world impact is actually more significant than the coverage it’s received. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)—harnessing data produced by connected industrial sensors and devices—is predicted to have a larger impact on global economic output than any of the other big data sources. IIoT data also promises to help solve complex problems that have far-reaching impacts, but deriving the value from that data is going to require the use of sophisticated analytics. For more than 35 years, OSIsoft has been a leader in helping organizations capture operational data from industrial equipment. Today, the company is on the front lines of helping businesses use highly advanced analytics to gain valuable operational intelligence from their sensor-based data.

The IoT Food Chain – Picking the Right Dining Partner is Important as presented at the IoT Inc Business' fourteenth Meetup. See: http://www.iot-inc.com/internet-of-things-value-chain-meetup/
In our fourteenth Meetup we have Dean Freeman, Research VP at Gartner presenting “The IoT Food Chain – Picking the Right Dining Partner is Important”.
Presentation Abstract
The Internet of Things means many different things to different people. What is key about the IoT is there is a distinct food chain that runs from the silicon devices to the services and then back. The level of success you will have in the IoT is heavily dependent upon where you fit in the food chain, and if you have the capability to move up the chain or across the chain into different verticals. In this presentation we will explore the food chain, what is important and what steps need to be taken to succeed in the world of the IoT.
The Conversational AI Journey - What to ExpectAggregage
Understanding the work involved before and after you deploy a virtual agent makes all the difference between a poor customer experience and one that’s on par with your best live agent. What’s surprising to many is that, firstly, getting alignment from internal stakeholders may be the biggest challenge in the conversational AI journey, and, secondly, most of the work to improve virtual agent performance actually happens after going live.
Join us for this webinar as Gary Davis, SmartAction CEO, shares insights and best practices for implementing AI virtual agents in the contact center. After deploying conversational AI for more than 100 leading brands, we’ve learned a few lessons on what can make — or break –– the automated customer experience.
You’ll learn:
•The internal stakeholders you need to involve and engage to make your conversational AI project a successful one
•How automating a customer service call isn’t as simple as using a script from a human interaction
•What happens after go-live, and how to monitor, fine-tune, and train your virtual agent
•The potential ROI when conversational automation is done right
Time to move from process focused automation to data centric automation pptMindfields Global
With workflows becoming increasingly complicated, the current process-centric approach is becoming more expensive to run – either through cost of automation or through the cost of people doing the work. With increasing focus on data in organisations we believe that data-driven organisations must also think differently when it comes to the role of data in their automation activities. Companies can continue to devise more complex and costly work-arounds to make a process-centric approach work in a data-centric world, or they can use an automation approach that is inherently data-centric to drive the next phase of Hyperautomation.
The 10 Secrets To Disrupting Digital Business From @rwang0 @harvardbizR "Ray" Wang
We’re standing at the dawn of a digital business revolution. In fact, we barely realize it. As with the beginning of every revolution, those in the midst of it can feel it, sense it, and realize that something big is happening. Yet it’s hard to quantify the shift. The data isn’t clear. It’s hard to measure. Pace of change is accelerating. Old rules seem not to apply.
My new book, Disrupting Digital Business, published by Harvard Business Review Press, reveals these revolutionary forces and prepares leaders to dominate digital business.

Modern Business Intelligence - Design and ImplementationsDavid J Rosenthal
During the first two “waves” of business intelligence, IT professionals and business analysts were the keepers of BI. They made BI accessible and consumable for end users.
While this approach still applies to complex business intelligence needs, today there is a new “wave.” This third wave of BI makes BI available to every kind of user.
As customer strive to take advantage of the digital transformation that is occurring in virtually every industry, they need to re-evaluate how they engage with their customers/prospects, how they transform their products and operations, and how they empower and understand their employees.
In today’s world, doing each of these things is more and more reliant upon data…traditionally, everything you knew about your customers and prospects was available in your business application systems and in the heads of employees. You learned almost everything about your products BEFORE they left your warehouse. Employees used technology more to enter data than to learn from it.
In the data-driven world we live in today, leveraging intelligent insights from data across customers, products, and employees is critical to be able to stay competitive and keep up with or lead digital transformation in any industry. And this isn’t just a customer’s typical business application data – it’s also about augmenting the customer’s data with additional data (e.g. search, employee behavioral data, sentiment data, benchmark data, etc..) – and applying the right intelligence to drive meaningful insights.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
