Final evaluation question
1. LOOKING BACK AT YOUR
PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO
YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT
IN THE PROGRESSION FROM
2. PRELIMINARY TASK – MAIN TASK
At the start of the preliminary task I was uncertain as I didn’t know what
exactly I wanted to get done with my work and what I wanted to achieve.
Creating different surveys and questionnaires enabling me to ask my audience
and random individuals about what they thought would look good for a music
magazine was one of the most important things that I did as that opened my
mind to multiple different design possibilities that I could try and pull of while
creating my product. The preliminary task was a building block for me as I
went onto the Main task which I found much easier as I went in with a mind
set that enabled me to become less complacent when faced with different
problems when making it
3. SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS
At the start of this whole topic I was only used to using the basic technological media
products such as Microsoft word PowerPoint and so on. I was only able to use
Photoshop due to me using it in GCSE. However I am now able to use Photoshop at a
higher level along with InDesign and slide share and Prezi.
While using these technological products I have enabled myself to adapt and learn
different techniques while bettering my self as a media student.
However I found the hardest media product to use was InDesign as it was quite
different from Photoshop however after I got used to It I loved it as it was more
professional and had more functions.
4. MAIN TASK
I Found that I was more confident when it came to the end section of
my main task due to me having a plan from preliminary task giving
me an idea of what I wanted to achieve when creating my product.
Looking back at what I achieved and how I came across doing it I
know that without me actually having the preliminary task I would
definitely be unable to complete the main task to the level that I have
now.
The knowledge that I had at the start of the course was so limited
when I look back at it compared to now and the new media
technological terms that I now know.
5. TECHNOLOGICAL TERMS
New technological terms that I have learnt while creating my media
product are words such as juxtaposition and media convergence and
synergy. These words that I have never heard before helped me
explain away and understand many things that I did not know about
the way in which media was presented and the amount of time that
was put into constructing a product.
6. TECHNOLOGICAL PHOTOS
When taking my photos I had to take them in certain ways that
enabled me to understand that I couldn’t just have a photo with the
light in my models face as it wouldn’t look professional at all and that
the lighting would look flustered in that moment.
Different camera angles help convey different things so having a big
guy with a high angle shot would not make any sense at all so the
right camera angles to convey the right thing to suite the genre of my
magazine is also a necessity that I had to learn.
