Leonardo.
Leonardo painted The Virgin of the Rocks (1483-1486) for the
Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception, which would go to
the chapel San Francesco Grande in Milan.
This scenario was the source of a conflict between the author
and the owners that lasted several years.
Leonardo obtained the right to copy the work, but later began a
legal problem with this.
The problem was not resolved until there were judicial decisions
and the intervention of some friends, ending with two versions
of the work.
