1. The document studies the effect of adding fly ash and the bio-stabilizer terrazyme to a clayey soil for use in road construction.
2. Laboratory tests found that adding 30% fly ash increased the soil's unsoaked CBR value by 96% compared to the untreated soil.
3. Treating the soil-fly ash mixture with optimal dosages of terrazyme further increased the unsoaked CBR value to a 121% rise compared to the original soil. Curing the mixture for 24 hours led to a CBR value increase of 183%, showing significant improvement from stabilization.
Now-a-days disposal of different wastes materials produced from agricultural and industrial
residuals is a great problem. These materials pose environmental pollution in the nearby locality. As
a result, there has been a trend towards recycling the waste materials into a highway construction
system. Valuable benefits in terms of economic and environmental gains are possible. Two types of
wastes materials, rice husk and sawdust were used to improve the properties of the clayey subgrade
soil. A procedure was adopted to quantify the beneficial effect of subgrade soils stabilization benefits
which base on the extension of pavement service life and reduction in the base course thickness.
Results show that both types of wastes materials helps in great improvement of soil properties as

Improvement of soil in foundation is a major challenge in civil engineering. Structures built on black cotton soil may be damaged due to high swelling and shrinkage characteristics of this soil with variation of water content. Black cotton soil is an expansive soil which loses its strength in presence of water. On the other hand, it has behavior of shrinkage when loss of moisture is there. About 20 % of land area in India is covered by black cotton soil. Because of its swelling & shrinkage properties, it is also called expansive soil. The present paper is an attempt to study the effectiveness of coconut fiber (coir) to control swelling properties of black cotton soil along with an impact on its strength characteristics and dry density. The test results show that in presence of 2% coir fibre, the shrinkage limit is increases by 7.52% to 12.62%. Increase in compressive strength was observed from1.09 to1.32 kg per sq-cm.

In the present research work, traditional mineral filler, high calcium Fly Ash, is used in the mix design of micro surfacing is evaluated with possibility of replacing it with other environmental friendly and cost effective selected fillers. The chemical analysis and material testing performed on high calcium Fly Ash filler indicate its suitability for incorporation in the mix design. The optimum mix design for microsurfacing Type II and Type III is determined through trial and error method. Also, the performance of a laboratory design mix is evaluated with field application. The field experimentation indicate that the mineral filler showed good performance for the test conducted on field after 24 hours and 6 months of application. The results evaluated in the field for skid resistance and surface texture indicate high calcium Fly Ash can be utilized for microsurfacing of road pavement.

Modification of clayey soil using fly asheSAT Journals
Abstract Soil modification refers to the process of enhancing physical, chemical and mechanical properties of soil to maintain its stability. In this research, an attempt has been made to improve the engineering properties of locally available clayey soil by making a composite mix with waste river sand and fly ash in appropriate proportions. A series of proctor compaction tests, unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests and falling head permeability tests were carried out. It was revealed that both strength and permeability characteristics of clayey soil improve on addition of local sand and fly ash. Thus, a suitable mix proportion of clayey soil-sand-fly ash for various geotechnical applications like construction of embankments, low cost rural roads etc. can be obtained. The main objective of this research work is to obtain an improved construction material by making the best use of available clayey soil & sand and to make the effective utilization of fly ash. A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
