The document describes a smart sensory furniture system that aims to monitor elderly individuals living alone. The system integrates sensors and actuators into furniture to capture interactions between people and their environment. Sensors can be placed in different parts of furniture or across multiple pieces. A communication structure allows sensors to send data wirelessly. Middleware is developed to manage the furniture and provide monitoring, control and autonomous capabilities. The system monitors factors like temperature, heartbeat and respiration rates to detect any changes from normal daily activities that could indicate issues with well-being or emergencies. If abnormalities are detected, alert messages are sent to caregivers. The goal is to provide virtual supervision for elderly safety and well-being without needing full-time care.
This project aims at achieving automation using the widely used mobile operating system ANDROID i.e. android operating system. The electrical and office appliances can be controlled using the android mobile phones and Internet of things (IoT) even if you are out of your house and you forgot to switch off the appliances. Many electrical and office appliances like light, fan, air conditioner etc., can be controlled using the android operating system. This proposed system is implemented in order to overcome the drawbacks of the previous methodologies. This can also be implemented at homes also. Office automation is the residential extension of building automation. Office automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security. Office automation for the elderly and disabled can provide increased quality of life for persons who might otherwise require caregivers or institutional care.

COMPLEX EVENT PROCESSING USING IOT DEVICES BASED ON ARDUINOijccsa
Complex event processing systems have gained importance since recent developments in communication
and integrated circuits technologies. Developers can easily develop many smart space systems by
connecting various sensors to an Arduino as an internet of thing device. These systems are useful for many
places such as factories, greenhouses (plant house) and smart-homes. Especially in plant houses when the
desired humidity, temperature, light and soil moisture drops the certain level, the users should be notified
through their smartphones. The sensor information is sent to a central server over the internet via an
access point. The collected sensor data needs to be processed online to check whether an event is occurred
or not. The event processing system based on a complex event processing tool is created on the central
server. It is also an important issue to inform mobile users whenever an event occurs. A publish-subscribe
event based system is implemented on the central server. A mobile user is subscribed to the desired event
topic. When an event occurred, which is related with a specific topic, an alarm notification is sent to the
mobile users about the event information so as to take necessary precautions.
Wildlife entering in to populated areas has
recently become very Popular. The space for wild
animals is decreasing as humans are encroaching
forests. It creates great loss to property and life
when wild animals enter in to cities. We use latest
advances in technology such as Internet of Things
(IoT) to create an alert system of possible wildlife
leaving the forest and also the message will send to
the users Mobile to alert them. We use low cost
motion detectors and Passive Infrared sensors to
achieve this. We relay information of such motion
to a control centre to take further actions. We also
include making loud noise through speakers in
which the animals cannot enter in to land. The
basic idea of IoT is to connect different sensors
and establish communication and also provide
services. In this article, we make use of several IoT
devices at the periphery of natural reserve to
create an alert system. This system can also be
used to find out smugglers and other people
illegally entering in to the forest.
IReHMo: An efficient IoT-Based Remote health Monitoring System for Smart RegionsKaran Mitra
The ageing population worldwide is constantly rising, both in urban and regional areas. There is a need for IoT-based remote health monitoring systems that take care of the health of elderly people without compromising their convenience and preference of staying at home. However, such systems may generate large amounts of data. The key research challenge addressed in this paper is to efficiently transmit healthcare data within the limit of the existing network infrastructure, especially in remote areas. In this paper, we identified the key network requirements of a typical remote health monitoring system in terms of real-time event update, bandwidth requirements and data generation. Furthermore, we studied the network communication protocols such as CoAP, MQTT and HTTP to understand the needs of such a system, in particular the bandwidth requirements and the volume of generated data. Subsequently, we have proposed IReHMo - an IoT-based remote health monitoring architecture that efficiently delivers healthcare data to the servers. The CoAP-based IReHMo implementation helps to reduce up to 90% volume of generated data for a single sensor event and up to 56% required bandwidth for a healthcare scenario. Finally, we conducted a scalability analysis to determine the feasibility of deploying IReHMo in large numbers in regions of north Sweden.

Despite the perception people may have regarding the agricultural process, the reality is that today’s agriculture
industry is data-centered, precise, and smarter than ever. The rapid emergence of the Internet-of-Things (IoT)
based technologies redesigned almost every industry including ‘‘smart agriculture’’ which moved the industry
from statistical to quantitative approaches. Such revolutionary changes are shaking the existing agriculture
methods and creating new opportunities along a range of challenges. This article highlights the potential of
wireless sensors and IoT in agriculture, as well as the challenges expected to be faced when integrating this
technology with the traditional farming practices. IoT devices and communication techniques associated with
wireless sensors encountered in agriculture applications are analyzed in detail. What sensors are available for
specific agriculture application, like soil preparation, crop status, irrigation, insect and pest detection are
listed. For the sake of obtaining the interest data, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are used to collect the
interest data in the farm field and send the obtained data to the servers via wireless communication. Since the
WSNs usually operate in the unlicensed spectrum ,the available resource elements (REs) are scarce especially
when a large number of sensor nodes are deployed in the farm field.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
