Leading Inventory Innovations Within Multi-Channel RetailDwight Hill
Merchandise availability continues to be one of the most important challenges within retailers today. As the customer is demanding retailers provide a consistent experience across all channels, retailers are forced to innovate and redefine how merchandise is distributed to customers in an omni-channel or digitally converging world. This presentation explores specific areas of inventory management, including planning, visibility, and how the lines are blurring between e-commerce and brick & mortar. Within are tenets that outline best practices, and a group of retailers that stand out as harbingers of the future of inventory management.
Connected Retail Supply Chains: Racing towards 2025Stuart Harker
Traditional supply chains as we know today will be extinct by 2025 as various trends and disruptive forces drive change and new connected models emerge.
There will be more change in the last 10 years than in the last 25 years, and at an increasing speed.
Building Self Managed Teams: Object Oriented OrganizationsMihai Dragan
Self managed teams can build larger organizations and provide a better work experience for professionals.
But how can we build self-managed teams and integrate them within larger organizations?
The proposed idea is Object Oriented Organizations - a concept and technique that was previously devised for software development and may work great in managerial practice also.

Global Trends Shaping Future Omnichannel Supply ChainMichael Hu
Omnichannel retail sales have consistently doubled every 4-5 years since 2001 and is expected to become a $1.8 trillion dollar market by 2016 and then quickly grow to $7 trillion by 2025. Part of the growth is driven by consumers take their shopping online and mobile. However this is just one side of the equation. The other enabler is the continued increase in supply chain innovation as retailers seek to make more products available with faster and more flexible delivery options at lower cost. Going forward, we see six global trends that will shape future winning omnichannel supply chains
What is Omnichannel Retail? Past. Present. Future.Mihai Dragan
Omnichannel retail allows traditional retailers to connect their existing channels such as brick and mortar or call centers to digital channels - online store, mobile app, social shopping channels and others.
This presentation focuses on how this came to be, what are the bottlenecks in implementing omnichannel retail and why should retailers switch to this new approach.
Probably the most compelling reasons to adapt to omnichannel retailing are today's customer demands. The customer wants 24/7 service and the same experience on all sales channels, whether it is the offline store, the mobile app or the brick and mortar outlet.
Piers Fawkes and Scott Lachut of PSFK give an overview of their Future of Retail 2017 report as they share the emerging trends that are shaping the new digital shopper experience in a post-omnichannel retail environment. Explore the social, technological and physical forces influencing consumer behavior and driving next gen shopping experiences. And find inspiration from fresh strategies that will allow e-commerce platforms and brands to exist in a new retail paradigm. Presentation from Retail's Digital Summit 2016.

This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the current retail industry. It begins with a look into the four primary types of retailers: department stores, specialty retailers, big box retailers and discount retailers. From there, the deck explores the topic of overall channel expansion, which leads into a discussion on two omni-channel trends for 2013. The presentation wraps up with a discussion on technology companies that are partnering with retailers and a summary of opportunities for retail companies.
Converging the customer experience across channels has never been more important. In fact, in a recent Retail Systems Research (RSR) study, more retailers report that they operate online/e-Commerce channels (92%) compared to traditional stores (89%). And, 100% of retailers surveyed consider “a single brand identity across channels” as important.
In order to move forward on the road toward a successful omnichannel experience, retailers need to take a step back and consider their current strategies, as well as hardware and software capabilities.
In this upcoming webinar, Nikki Baird from RSR will share insights from the June 2012 survey titled: Omni-Channel 2012: Cross-Channel Comes Of Age. Some of the topics she will cover include:
The new rules of cross-channel retail
The value of cross-channel shoppers
The Digital-Physical connection
The role of Marketing in the strategy mix
NCR will join the discussion by outlining the steps toward cross-channel success, illuminated through real-world case studies. Once merchants commit to a compelling and consistent cross-channel experience, they must follow through with superior data analysis and promotion optimization, facilitated with best-in-class point of sale (POS) solutions. With all the proper components in place, retailers will improve loyalty and profits by delighting customers, no matter which channel they choose.
