This document provides an introduction and overview of the Livestock and Irrigation Value Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project. The project aims to support Ethiopia's strategy of transforming subsistence agriculture into semi-commercial agriculture by improving income for smallholder producers through irrigated crop and livestock value chains. The project will focus on high-value commodities like dairy, beef, vegetables and fruits across clusters in 4 regions. It will pursue this goal through intermediate outcomes related to increasing engagement in profitable value chains, value addition, and support from input/service suppliers. The project will utilize pillars around value chain development, capacity building, knowledge management, and monitoring across project and non-project areas.
