3. Definition of Computer
• A multi-purposed, electronic device
• takes input through input devices, processes it
• Gives the output through output devices
• It also stores data for further processing
• Uses Binary Code for Communication (0’s and 1’s)
5. Processing Cycle of a Computer
1. Accepts and gather DATA (Input)
2. It then Processes DATA to become Information (PROCESSING)
3. It Stores DATA and Information (Storage)
4. Presents Information as desired (Output)
6. There are 2 type of Computer Components
Namely:
1. Hardware
2. Software
Components of a Computer
7. Hardware Software
Components of Computer
• ALL non-physical parts
of Computers
• These carry
instructions of how
should a computer work

11. Input devices vs
Output deviceAre hardware devices that allow you
to enter data into the computer, or
interact with the computer.
Are devices receive data from a
computer
converts this data to a display,
projected image, or print-out
12. Have you ever wondered what we
would do without computers in this
day and age?
13.
14. Pretty much everything in this world works
with computers
To buying groceries
Performing
Calculations
15.
16. Computers can store tons of Information more than our
minds can do
• They Can access information very quickly
• Saves the use of Paper
• They facilitate an efficient way of Presentation
• Enhances Communication between students
• Organizes Information (E.g. Computers at Library)
