U2-Sweetest Thing
U2 Sweetest Thing
I have chosen this song for the tone it brings to this soundtrack. The beginning of The Count of Monte
Cristo is vividly different from the rest, as it introduces a perfect character, who has the greatest of
girls to soon marry, and has been promoted to captain of his ship. I feel that this song has the same
tone to it, while hinting at a change of fortune soon in the future by repeating I m losing you , which
mirrors the effect that Danglars has at this point, of foreshadowing that things will not stay this way
for Dantes.
Midge Ure The Man Who Sold The World These lyrics connect to the relationship between Dantes
and Villefort, beginning from their first meeting in Villefort s office. The song portrays Villefort as he
is in the book, feigning to be Dante s friend, when he had only himself in mind. (Lines 4,13). Dante s
surprise during his conversation with Villefort is also reflected in line five. The bridge between their
first meeting and their last is in lines fourteen to twenty, which describe his journey from the Chateau
d if, where Edmond Dantes died, and the Count of Monte Cristo roamed for years and years. His stare
is also described as gazeless, just as the Count seems to see the world around him. The second and ...

Lord s will. Lines nine and ten show this perfectly, followed by line eleven saying I m on the wrong

hand, but on the other he is doing it selfishly, and has now unfairly brought people into his judgement.
Lines fourteen to sixteen show that he knows he has moved on since he was Edmond Dantes, but as he
looks at himself at this point he cannot decide if the change was for the better or

A Formal Analysis of Potential Career Choices
A Formal Analysis Of Potential Career Choices
Introduction A formal analysis of the characteristics and outlook for two possible career choices
Policeman vs. Lawyer is a valuable tool in the decision making process used by an employment
candidate to make a successful selection between them. New entrants into the job market face a very
competitive environment and training (or re training) for jobs is frequently expensive and time
consuming. Therefore there is a definite need to make one s career decisions using a comprehensive,
formal analysis in order to promote a successful and satisfying career choice. Background information
was gathered by a search of peer reviewed articles from governmental and professional journal
sources in the literature. These articles provided several important variables to be considered in the
methodology, including: (a) candidate gender; (b) candidate ethnicity; (c) educational level; (d)
physical demands; (e) mental/analytical demands; (f) pathways to advancement; and (g) employment
outlook. These decision variables are identified for each potential career choice and then compared
and contrasted between the career options. A conclusion is then reached as to a recommended best fit
option relative to a candidate s career goals and interests.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R Texas) after his speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., on March 23, 2015.
Ted Cruz game plan is to win over young voters, and part of that strategy, he said, is to use his sense
of humor. This game plan is certainly feasible as 2 out of the last 3 president have been in the top 5
youngest presidents throughout our entire presidential history. Old and reliable, may not be the same
mindset as voters had decades ago. The young middle age group is the working class, and certainly
has the most to win or lose if they do not get out and vote.

Issues Facing America Today
There are many issues facing America today, that simultaneously affect those around the globe. When
trying to decide what is worse for the United States of America; being too involved in the affairs of
other nations troubles or allowing evil to run free, we have to carefully look at both sides. I believe
that evil can be contained, but we cannot be the babysitter of other nations. I completely understand
that in order for America to be safe that we have to watch closely countries that may pose a threat to
our safety. For example; after World War II America was said to be the lead and Peace Keepers
between many countries. Newt Gingrich says that we did not ask to be the leader of the world, but that
it was thrust upon us. It was time for

Should The Government Carry A Concealed Weapon Affect Our...
When a matter of seconds count between living and dying; the only option is living. Gun control has
evolved tremendously over the years. First guns were prohibited. However, now the use of guns is
permitted in several states and countries. Different people use guns for different reasons, whether they
are good reasons or bad reasons. In my opinion the right to carry a concealed weapon has saved lives.
The momentous of gun control is prodigious. There have been many situations where the use of a gun
has had a major impact on one s life. When someone is languished or going through a great cause of
tribulation one s first instinct is to regress to safety. On an early Wednesday morning, a fifty three year
old woman was encountered by a strange man, while she was in the shower, with a knife. Immediately
the man and the woman engaged in a physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Perfect Guy, actress Sanaa Lathan was placed in an undesirable situation with actor Michael
Ealy. Ealy was hidden in Lathan s home upon her arrival. However, Lathan had already expected Ealy,
so earlier that day she went out and purchased a gun. As Lathan found Ealy they immediately got into
a physical altercation. Lathan held Ealy at gun point and told Ealy you have three warnings get out of
my house, but Ealy figured Lathan would not shoot. So he therefore continued harassing Lathan in her
own home. So Lathan shot Ealy once with the warning shot, and she shot again until all warning shots
were gone. Ealy suspected Lathan to not shoot anymore so there he was still in her house jumping on
her trying to forcibly hurt her. So Lathan shot one last time and that last shot killed Ealy. Not only
those the right to carry to a concealed weapon take place in real life, but there are also situations in
movies where having that right is as much as important as the next. Lathan had two options whether it

My Timbuktu
It is difficult to overstate the importance of culture. Culture is one of the building blocks of life. It
provides us with vital parts of of everyday life, like clothing and cuisine. It also serves as a pointer for
larger scale items, such as our heritage, customs, and traditions. Unfortunately as time has passed,
certain cultures have faded away. They have been superseded by other cultures, and while the
spreading of cultures can be beneficial, it is important to not neglect one s own culture. This process
has seen an increased frequency in recent years, due in part to the expanding globalization in our
current world. Personally, culture is one of the main cornerstones of my life. This is partly due to its
importance back home. My experiences would be different from the rest of the class, due to the fact I
am in the minority of being a foreigner in the United States. Living in Boston showed me the cultural
differences in the world, and I was able to use that experience to be able to distinguish between

This article explores the history of Mali, focusing on music and its effect on history. Music is a key
aspect of culture. It is a medium for expression, and a strong distinguisher for many cultures. It often

world. Mali has a complicated history with music. The medium was banned by Islamist rebels, a sort

Why Is Lady Macbeth The Real Villain
In Shakespeare s tragedy, Macbeth the notion of who the real villain is explored. Throughout the play,
Shakespeare ventilates a myriad of factors, which lends the audience to believe Lady Macbeth is the
real villain, but in fact she is not to blame for the catalyst of Macbeth s downfall. The play centres on
the notion of the real villain, and what really harbingers the death of Macbeth is explored, and whether
the real villain and main cause of Macbeth s death was his manipulative wife, the supernatural witches
or something from within the mind of the play s main protagonist. In the lead up to Macbeth s act of
regicide and through his reign as king, he is influenced by a multitude of factors such as the witches

Macbeths cruel and heartless natures goes as far as to organise the murder of one of his closest
comrade and his son for the sole purpose that he feared that they were a threat to his kingship.
Through this act of duplicity, we are shown a clear sign that his villainous side is now in control of
him, even though what brought it forward was something external to his own mind. Additionally, in
the final moments before Macbeth s decision to go through with the plan of killing Duncan, it had all
but come down to his choice, with no ascendency from external sources. In Act 2, Scene 1, the dagger
[he] sees before [him] might have been the final push he needed to commit his act of regicide and it is
most likely that this vision of a dagger was created by his own imagination, demonstrating that part of
his own mind, perhaps a villainous part of his sub conscious, was what created the illusion of the
dagger. This makes it clear that deep down a part of him had the ambition to kill Duncan, and the use
of a soliloquy enables the audience to hear his confused and conflicting thoughts as he is persuaded by
his own mind to kill the king. These acts of evil are a result of the contributions to Macbeth s villainy

Philanthropic Acts a Compromise for Rights
In an era consisting of big industrialist, such as Andrew Carnegie, there were many differences of
opinions on the execution of capitalism between these industrialists and their workers. Andrew
Carnegie expressed his ideas and views in article, The Gospel of Wealth, in which he outlines the

because they can. He believed that the first thing a wealthy man must do is to meet the moderate

Civilization Vs Civilization
Civilization is one of the greatest human inventions. From civilization we gain basic justice, morality
and security. Although civilization is a powerful force, it is fragile. The book The Lord of The Flies by
William Golding, strands a group of schoolboys on an uninhabited island and follows them as their
tropical paradise becomes a hell on earth. As the boys situation becomes more dire and fear takes hold
their makeshift society crumbles around them. The boys let civilization crumble as they turn towards
savagery. When the group first lands on the island, their civilization is at its strongest because they
respect and listen to Ralph. When the boys hold their first meeting they decide they need a leader.
Ralph says ¨Who wants me?´ Every hand outside the choir except Piggy s was raised immediately¨
(Golding, 23). This act of voting shows that civilization is strong. This is because, to hold an election
each individual has to value the group´s choice above his own. Even Jack accepts that Ralph is in
charge even though he thinks he would be a better leader. Ralph also says I´ll give the conch to the
next person to speak. He can hold it when he is speaking . . . And he won t be interrupted.¨ (33). This
shows the boys creating rules. Rules are another product of a strong civilization; they keep everyone
safe and secures their rights. This rule secures the right of speech for all of the boys. Even though it
may be better for one boy to speak without concern for others; it

Dr. Josef Mengele was one of the many infamous physicians who performed many inhuman
experiments on prisoners without their consent. Many of the resulting experiments led to; death,
trauma, disfigurement, or permanent disabilities. Dr. Mengele was chosen to instruct the inmates,
conduct horrific experiments and crimes on inmates, but some survivors said there was a humane side
to him. In 1937, Mengele received his medical degree along with joining the Nazi party and the

Causes Of Mrs. G Gangs
One challenge that this group of students present to Mrs. G is the separation because of gangs. When
the students come in they turn desks out of rows to sit by their group and give nasty looks and threats

have killed people in each other s gangs. This causes a big divide in the class and a lack of
communication. To deal with this, Mrs. G tells certain people to move and some of their gang
members get mixed up, this eventually works out and the students start voluntarily sitting next to
anyone in the class. As first, however, this leads to the second challenge Mrs. G faces. The second

The Importance Of My Senior Year Of High School
When thinking about my senior year of high school I start to think about a tradition that happened
every year with the senior class. It seems wired but the senior class always seemed to be up to
something every week. I remember thinking my Jr year the my senior class was gonna change how
people viewed us. I was so right.
You see every year before are home football game against Creighton Prep. Our schools for years
would be fighting back and forth. It got to the point where every year the week of the big game the
boys at Prep would walk into Westside and either are pools or our courage rock would be covered in
blue paint. I remember my senior year was the year that everything changed. We where tired of prep
always picking on us and Westside students where not allowed to retaliate. If we where caught doing
so we wouldn t be able to walk to the stage come graduation day.
Picture this. It was Thursday night around 8:30pm the setting was a high school football field. All the
lights where one and there where about 500 students on the field. The student had tents put up. Some
people just brought sleeping bags. You can see the football players throwing a football back a forth.
There where about 25 teacher that where there also just walking around and hanging out with the
students. There was the wrestling team and baseball boy protecting the entrances along with some of
the male teachers. It was a sight to see just knowing that us students where not going to do anything.

The Hobbit Comparison
J.R.R. Tolkien is a writing superhero who has created a vast world that can be compared and
contrasted. One interesting fact about J.R.R. Tolkien is that he knew at least 20 languages and made
many of his own. Knowing and making many languages is what really solidified his way of writing,
by doing so he created multiple languages that are used in both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. To
understand the differences between Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit is necessary to take a closer
look at the theme, plot, and characters. By comparing The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings, it becomes
clear that these two books share a the same timeline. Both stories take place in Middle Earth during
the Third Age. Rivendell and The Shire are the only places that appear in both the books. They share a
similar theme, self development. Many characters appear in the The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings,

Emphysema Essay
Emphysema
Introduction:
Emphysema is a condition of the lungs that involves the over inflation of the air sacs, otherwise
known as the alveoli. Normal functioning of the alveoli helps breathing in normal respiration. Unlike
other lung diseases this one can be inherited. This is a disease that can affect people of all ages and
genders. In 1994, the number of males with emphysema outnumbered the females by fifty four
percent. However, in the two years that followed the difference between males and females decreased

Notre Dame-Du-Haut Research Paper
Charles Édouard Jeanneret Gris was born on October 6, 1887 in Switzerland. Charles Édouard
Jeanneret Gris is better known as Le Corbusier. He adopted the name of Le Cotbusier, which is an
altered form of his grandfather s name, Lecorbésier. ( Le Corbusier Biography ). He also adopted that
name because he believed that anyone could reinvent himself or herself and that changing your name
was a way to reinvent. In his architecture he mostly built with reinforced concrete and geometric
forms. ( Le Corbusier Biography ). The historical context of Notre Dame du Haut is tied mostly to
religion. This aspect of society is important because Notre Dame Du Haut functions as a church and a
place for pilgrimages. The hilltop that Notre Dame Du Haut sits on has been a place for pilgrimages
since the thirteenth century C.E. ( AD Classics: Ronchamp / Le Corbusier ). There was a chapel on the

Comparing Tide Rises , Thanatopsis And Snowbound
The natural elements of nature as found in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s, The Tide Rises, The Tide
Falls, William Bryant s, Thanatopsis, and John Whittier s Snowbound, each suggest a meditative
mood towards the consistency of nature s course. Through this illustration of a meditative state, each
poet captures the anticipation and the silence that is reflected in the regularity of nature. Within each
poem, the reflective contemplation on the consistency and regularity of nature creates the feeling of
regularity and the inevitable.
Anticipation in how nature will continue and the meditative mood it accompanies, is a recurring theme
that is illustrated throughout Longfellow s poem. Within the poem, the phrase that is repeated
illustrates a sense of the inevitable course of nature s rhythm; The tide rises, the tide falls (Longfellow,
275). With the repetition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whittier begins the poem describing the clouds of snow as an ominous prophecy of what is to come.
The anticipation of a blizzard is then contrasted with the regularity of the chores the night before; We
did our nightly chores (Whittier, 283). In Whittier s description in indulging in the regularity of the

describes during the storm, illustrates this sense of meditating and observing in silence the acts of
nature, No welcome sound of toil or mirth Unbound the spell... (Whittier, 286). In the tension of what
will happen with the storm, the sense of peace that comes with the silence of the snowfall allows for a
meditative feel. Although Whittier creates a feeling of tension with the snowfall, his descriptions of
silence allow for a feeling of peacefulness that comes with nature taking its

Importance Of Immunizations
Meta Description: Immunizations have an important role in preventing the diseases and infections that
can impair the health of seniors and decrease their quality of life.
H1Immunizations Have a Role in Maintaining Good Health
Primary keyword: Immunizations
Secondary keyword: Home health care
Title: Immunizations Play an Important Role in Your Health
Like many people, you probably get a flu shot every year. But what about the other immunizations
you ve heard about? Your Pegasus caregiver and your doctor can answer your questions.
It s easy to decide as you age that you don t need a vaccination against this or that. Although you are
well past childhood diseases, maturity doesn t bestow protection from infection. And infection of any

Tell your doctor before any injection if you:
Are allergic to eggs
Are allergic to latex
Have Guillain Barre syndrome
Have a fever
Have any illness or disease
Your doctor also needs to know if you ve had a severe reaction to a vaccine in the past.
Minor reactions to immunization are limited to:
Redness at the injection site
Slight pain at the injection site
Muscle aches
Low fever
Malaise
These are all temporary symptoms and pass within a day or two.
Your caregiver is trained to recognize serious reactions. He or she will consult with your doctor to
ensure that you obtain treatment if needed. Otherwise, your caregiver will strive to keep you
comfortable.
It s also important that you receive your immunizations at the right time. A home health care specialist
helps you keep a record of what you ve had and when. If needed, your caregiver will schedule an
appointment and transport you to the doctor s office.
Most physicians recommend the following vaccinations for seniors:
Influenza
Pneumonia
Shingles
Tdap
These are all intended to prevent infection.
Influenza
Influenza, or the flu, is very contagious. The older an individual is, the more serious it can be. It can
worsen any existing condition.
Complications of the flu can land you in a hospital. You may still get the flu if you re vaccinated, but
the infection will be much milder. Because the viruses that cause influenza constantly change, you
need a new flu shot each year.

General Dwight Eisenhower as a Critical Thinker
Strategic decisions made by General Dwight Eisenhower during WWII were significant and give
excellent examples of four components of Steve Gerras Critical Thinking model. Generals during
World War II faced daily innumerable difficult and grave decisions. Critical decisions made during
WWII did not have the depth and speed of today s modern communications infrastructure. Eisenhower
quoted, Making decisions is of the essence in leadership. 1 During World War II, while in command of
the Mediterranean theater, Eisenhower made the strategic decision of making the commitment to
radiate confidence no matter how dire the circumstances or how pessimistic he might actually feel. He
wrote, My mannerisms and speech in public would always reflect the cheerful certainty of victory that
any pessimism and discouragement that I might ever feel would be reserved for my pillow. 2 Critical
thinking according to Professor Steve Gerras is deliberate. Gerras Critical Thinking Model
components are as follows: clarify the concern, point of view, assumptions, inferences, evaluation of
information, and implications. The model is not meant to be sequential or linear, however always
starts with clarify the concern . Evaluation of Eisenhower s decision to radiate confidence no matter
how dire the circumstances in context to Gerras Critical thinking model spotlights clarify the concern
and point of view . Application of these two components to his strategic decision demonstrates

Observation Report For Child Observation
Each child sat down individually with the researcher the day after to read out the words they have

reflecting their true experiences and feelings, This shows an obvious improvement in their
performance using the LEA, with 4 additional children scoring full (15%), and a decrease of 12.5% of
children scoring zero. To ensure reinforcement was not made on the assessed words, the researcher did
not read out the words to children when they could not read it in the first assessment. Teachers were
also asked not to reinforce the assessed words in the classroom until all assessments were done.
Children who had higher competency skills in reading could read in both assessments done, thus this

Saudi Arabia And The Arab Arabia
Located along the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, is a country by the name of Saudi Arabia, the Middle
East s largest country. Saudi Arabia is officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Given
the title the birthplace of Islam , makes Saudi Arabia highly respected in the Middle East and in many
other Muslim countries and communities. Composed of over twenty seven million citizens, Saudi
Arabia ranks as the 13th largest country in the world. Business in Saudi Arabia is different than
business in the United States in various aspects, which will be discussed throughout this paper.
Ethical Challenges. Saudi Arabia faces ethical challenges that tend to hinder its progression while
being a very productive country as well. In regards to corruption, Saudi Arabia is ranked in the
middle, compared to any other country in the world. According to Transparency International, Saudi
Arabia ranks 48th out of the 168 countries in reference to corruption with a score of 52%. That 52%
means that Saudi Arabia is somewhat corrupt, with 0% being highly corrupt and 100% being very
clean (Transparency Index, 2016). Saudi Arabia has been making progress towards becoming less
corrupt, given that their Corruptions Perceptions Index score has risen every year since 2008. Reasons
being for this level of corruption is due to the government. The country has corruption laws in place
but these laws are not strictly enforced and are enforced at the discretion of the government. When

The Impeachment of Andrew Johnson Essay
The Impeachment of Andrew Johnson
Impeachment, in the United States and Great Britain proceeding by a legislature for the
removal of office of a public official charged with misconduct in office. Impeachment
compromises both the act of formulating the accusation and the resulting trial of charges; it is
frequently but mistakenly taken to mean removal from office of an accused official. An
impeachment trial may result in an acquittal or in a verdict of guilty. The U.S. Constitution, in
Article 1, Section 3 , provides for the impeachment of public federal officials and gives precise
directions for conducting impeachment. The House of Representatives initiates impeachment

was elected mayor of Greenville. Johnson then served in the Tennessee House of Rep.
from 1835 to 1837 and from 1839 to 1843, when he was elected to the state senate. In 1843,
Johnson became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, the lower chamber of congress
where he served until 1853. In Congress he was a champion of the poor . He felt a kinship with
the working people and small farmers, and disliked people of wealth or privilege.
In June 1864 the Republicans met in Baltimore, Maryland, and renominated Lincoln. To
reward the Southerners who had remained loyal to the Union, Johnson was nominated to be vice
president, since Johnson was a War Democrat. In November the Lincoln Johnson was elected.
Lincoln was assasinated only six weeks after Johnson was sworn in as vice president. Angry
at the assassination Johnson was at first inclined to be vindictive in his treatment of the
Confederate leaders, who also represented the privileged class that he hated. His attitude
towards the Confederacy won him the approval of the militant wing of the Republican Party
(Radical Republicans). However , to the surprise of the Radicals, Johnson

Social Problems
According to Ferreira (2005:86), four elements may be discerned when attempting to define a social
problem. The four elements are: a pressure (influential) group; a social condition; a set of values and
norms; and collective action.
Taking these four elements as building blocks the following definition of a social problem may be
arrived at: A social condition, known to a pressure group as posing a threat to current values and
norms, that requires collective action to rectify (Pretorius, Le Roux, Lesufi, Liebenberg, Martin
Rautenbach Zegeye in Ferreira 2005:87).
In the sections that follow I will attempt to clarify each one of the four elements that constitute the
definition of a social problem.
The crux of the matter here regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, Africa s rate of urbanization is second to none (Tibaijuka in de Beer, du Plessis, Liebenberg
Moloi 2005:116). At the eve of independence, during the 60 s for a handful of African countries,
urbanization, in most cases, was well sought after (social condition). Western powers had developed
following paths of industrialization and urbanization and the same was thought possible in Africa
(pressure groups). The basic tenants of this assumption went as follows: Capital distributed from the
West to Africa was to be invested in industrial enterprises in centers that wielded political power. This
newly found industry would promote manufacturing and encourage domestic savings. Jobs would be
created and the capital accumulated reinvested in development projects (de Beer et al 2005: 115 125).
And thus, by following this path Africa would become self sufficient (values and norms).
However, five decades later Africa has failed to develop as rapidly or to the extent to which the West
has. Urban poverty escalates daily. A handful of problems face the African city: insufficient provision
of jobs, poorly delivered public services, a weakening revenue base, and escalating pollution levels.
According to de Beer et al. (2005:116 117), it is projected that by 2030 half of Africa s population will
have become urbanized, most of whom will live in poverty (social problem).
There are some solutions on offer. Urban agriculture, albeit somewhat controversial, has

Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion )
Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the
other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and
techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek values
than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also
providing an understanding as to why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular.
However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so
popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black
figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic
Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated
approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a
storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the
Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a
hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the
artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As
previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in order to achieve the black figure, and

Sprint And T-Mobile Merger Analysis
Many companies in the United States are struggling to survive. These companies are experiencing
significant decreases in revenue, reduced assets, and increases in liabilities. Companies that already
filed, or are at risk for filing bankruptcy are struggling with keeping up with their competitors, causing
the companies to lose their value. When a company files for bankruptcy, the company no longer gets
to make the business decisions. The bankruptcy courts begin to make the decisions for the companies
in efforts to restore the businesses. If the company is unable to revive itself from bankruptcy status,
the company goes out of business. If this occurs, the company must sell everything it owns in order to

Sprint Corporation is still at risk for closing its doors within the next couple of years. If Sprint does

Analysis Of No Witchcraft For Sale By Doris Lessing
Can t Trust Anyone
(An analysis of No Witchcraft For Sale by Doris Lessing and it s 3 messages) Racism is the main
culprit for fighting among not only American citizens, but those in foreign countries. The issue has
progressed but still has a great deal of improving to do. In recent years and months many have begun
take stands against racism and the unfair ways they have been treated. Doris Lessing wrote novels and
short stories that challenged the mainstream beliefs of those in Southern Africa and England. Mariam
Berkley, a biographer explained, Lessing s life has been a challenge to her belief that people cannot
resist the currents of their time, as she fought against the biological and cultural imperatives. Her
literature was very controversial because the topics she discussed brought in many different
perspectives to problems in society. Her thoughts mainly tie in with racism and sexism. In Lessing s
No Witchcraft for Sale she explains the messages of white people having control over blacks, the
selflessness of the slave, and ways to deal with peer pressure. In No Witchcraft for Sale Doris Lessing
explains the message of white people having complete control over blacks in what they are and are not
able to do. In the early 1900s it was not uncommon to see blacks owned by whites. Blacks inability to
get an education, live on their own, and get a job prohibit them from being able to be independent.
Many had the desire to become educated, but were never able to do because of the time period. This is
still a problem today, whites thinking they are somehow above blacks. Blogger Karen Fleshman
explains her observations about race by posting, Americans are not at all on the same page when it
comes to race. It is obvious that things have improved, but there is still a long way to go before racism
will ever solved; if that is ever accomplished. Throughout No Witchcraft for Sale, Lessing uses the
influence of the parents on the children. Teddy Farquar played with the servants son and referred to
him laughingly saying, He s only a black boy, (line 49). Even at the young age as both of these
children they had already been taught the difference in skin color and what that meant. This idea
bothered Lessing and

The Stereotypes Of Homosexuality In Film
While many believe that homosexuality has only been seen in mainstream media for only a few
decades, it has actually been with America cinema since the early 1920 s. The portrayal of
homosexuality in film and TV has come a very long way since the 1920 s. What viewers see on TV
about homosexuality is really just a representation of America s changing public view on the subject.
While we have come to accept the topic of homosexuality in American society more willingly, we
have substituted much of our prejudice about gays with the stereotypes that we see on TV constantly.
Because as a society we are constantly forced to see these stereotypes, we are being halted in our
progression to accept all different kinds of lifestyles. When film was ... Show more content on

In the early fifties, lesbians were also being attacked by the film industry, portraying them as
bulldykes and troublesome neurotics. While the Hollywood was struggling to make topic of
homosexuality in films more suitable for audiences, the film Victim made its debut in the United
Kingdom. This was the first film to star a homosexual character that stands up to fight against the
oppression of homosexuals. While this was the first time in history that a film portrayed a gay
character in a non demeaning way, this would lead to the stereotype of sympathetic gay characters in
film. One film that I would like to note that is a great example from the 90 s would be the film
Philadelphia, starring Tom Hanks as a gay AIDS victim that was fired because of his sexuality and
disease. Hollywood targets Hanks character and makes him into a tragic figure. His character dies at
the end of the film. In an interview with Jan Oxenberg, she points out that even though Tom Hanks
film was very effective, it is just a story about a gay hero who dies, who s a tragic figure and that it
seems as if Hollywood and the film industry will never have a film in which the gay main character
lives to see another day (Epstein). Another more recent film that demonstrates this sort of sympathetic
gay character would be

shyly for a bit. He seemed to know more words than i did, to speak more like an adult, so he probably

Project Evaluation Of A Clinical Practice Project
I have conducted a clinical practice project within the emergency department triage area in which I
work. Evidence based research show that inefficiencies and delay of patient care may result in
undesirable patient satisfaction and poor patient outcomes. Through a comprehensive and
collaborative process, I will implement operational changes of two triage systems; quick triage and
Twiage. The implementations of both of these systems will allow the department to accommodate the
increased patient volume and improve the patient wait times, thus improving the quality of care and
increasing patient satisfaction. This paper will include the current triaging problem, an organization

This current problem correlates with other issues within the emergency department. A study was
performed by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) demonstrating the six components of the evaluations of
the quality of one s care; Safety, effectiveness, patient centered care, efficiency, time, and equitability
(Strang, Crotts, Johnson, Hartling, Guttman, 2015). The scope of my project involves training,
education and changing the way our department interacts with arriving patients and the triaging
process. The lack of specific tasks and communication in the triage area also lives. A dearth in
communication has been directly linked to delays in patient care, medication errors, and lack of
accountability (Sayah, Rogers, Devarajan, Kingsley Rocker, Lobon, 2014). With the use of
appropriate quick triage, communication, and transfer of patients one can implement targeted goals in
triage (Craig et at., 2016). The organization I selected to support my clinical project is The World
Health Organization (WHO). The WHO is one of the most effective organizations for advocating and
building healthier lives around the world. Their primary goal is to promote health with the use of
evidence based research and resources (WHO, 2017). The WHO has developed the emergency triage

Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke
Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for
the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export
quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export
allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010
and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently
started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export
tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was
approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non
existent.
This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to
pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad
valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the
market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to
eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free
situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply
of coke exports to the United States.

  • 2. U2-Sweetest Thing U2 Sweetest Thing I have chosen this song for the tone it brings to this soundtrack. The beginning of The Count of Monte Cristo is vividly different from the rest, as it introduces a perfect character, who has the greatest of girls to soon marry, and has been promoted to captain of his ship. I feel that this song has the same tone to it, while hinting at a change of fortune soon in the future by repeating I m losing you , which mirrors the effect that Danglars has at this point, of foreshadowing that things will not stay this way for Dantes. Midge Ure The Man Who Sold The World These lyrics connect to the relationship between Dantes and Villefort, beginning from their first meeting in Villefort s office. The song portrays Villefort as he is in the book, feigning to be Dante s friend, when he had only himself in mind. (Lines 4,13). Dante s surprise during his conversation with Villefort is also reflected in line five. The bridge between their first meeting and their last is in lines fourteen to twenty, which describe his journey from the Chateau d if, where Edmond Dantes died, and the Count of Monte Cristo roamed for years and years. His stare is also described as gazeless, just as the Count seems to see the world around him. The second and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When he was unable to resuscitate Edouard, he doubted himself, and doubted if he was following the Lord s will. Lines nine and ten show this perfectly, followed by line eleven saying I m on the wrong side of heaven and the righteous side of hell . He is bringing justice to those who deserve it on one hand, but on the other he is doing it selfishly, and has now unfairly brought people into his judgement. Lines fourteen to sixteen show that he knows he has moved on since he was Edmond Dantes, but as he looks at himself at this point he cannot decide if the change was for the better or ... • 3. A Formal Analysis of Potential Career Choices A Formal Analysis Of Potential Career Choices Introduction A formal analysis of the characteristics and outlook for two possible career choices Policeman vs. Lawyer is a valuable tool in the decision making process used by an employment candidate to make a successful selection between them. New entrants into the job market face a very competitive environment and training (or re training) for jobs is frequently expensive and time consuming. Therefore there is a definite need to make one s career decisions using a comprehensive, formal analysis in order to promote a successful and satisfying career choice. Background information was gathered by a search of peer reviewed articles from governmental and professional journal sources in the literature. These articles provided several important variables to be considered in the methodology, including: (a) candidate gender; (b) candidate ethnicity; (c) educational level; (d) physical demands; (e) mental/analytical demands; (f) pathways to advancement; and (g) employment outlook. These decision variables are identified for each potential career choice and then compared and contrasted between the career options. A conclusion is then reached as to a recommended best fit option relative to a candidate s career goals and interests. Ted Cruz (R Texas) after his speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., on March 23, 2015. Ted Cruz game plan is to win over young voters, and part of that strategy, he said, is to use his sense of humor. This game plan is certainly feasible as 2 out of the last 3 president have been in the top 5 youngest presidents throughout our entire presidential history. When trying to decide what is worse for the United States of America; being too involved in the affairs of other nations troubles or allowing evil to run free, we have to carefully look at both sides. I believe that evil can be contained, but we cannot be the babysitter of other nations. I completely understand that in order for America to be safe that we have to watch closely countries that may pose a threat to our safety. For example; after World War II America was said to be the lead and Peace Keepers between many countries. • 7. Should The Government Carry A Concealed Weapon Affect Our... When a matter of seconds count between living and dying; the only option is living. Gun control has evolved tremendously over the years. First guns were prohibited. However, now the use of guns is permitted in several states and countries. Different people use guns for different reasons, whether they are good reasons or bad reasons. In my opinion the right to carry a concealed weapon has saved lives. The momentous of gun control is prodigious. There have been many situations where the use of a gun has had a major impact on one s life. When someone is languished or going through a great cause of tribulation one s first instinct is to regress to safety. On an early Wednesday morning, a fifty three year old woman was encountered by a strange man, while she was in the shower, with a knife. Immediately the man and the woman engaged in a physical ... Lathan held Ealy at gun point and told Ealy you have three warnings get out of my house, but Ealy figured Lathan would not shoot. So he therefore continued harassing Lathan in her own home. So Lathan shot Ealy once with the warning shot, and she shot again until all warning shots were gone. Ealy suspected Lathan to not shoot anymore so there he was still in her house jumping on her trying to forcibly hurt her. So Lathan shot one last time and that last shot killed Ealy. • 8. My Timbuktu It is difficult to overstate the importance of culture. Culture is one of the building blocks of life. It provides us with vital parts of of everyday life, like clothing and cuisine. It also serves as a pointer for larger scale items, such as our heritage, customs, and traditions. Unfortunately as time has passed, certain cultures have faded away. They have been superseded by other cultures, and while the spreading of cultures can be beneficial, it is important to not neglect one s own culture. This process has seen an increased frequency in recent years, due in part to the expanding globalization in our current world. Personally, culture is one of the main cornerstones of my life. This is partly due to its importance back home. My experiences would be different from the rest of the class, due to the fact I am in the minority of being a foreigner in the United States. Living in Boston showed me the cultural differences in the world, and I was able to use that experience to be able to distinguish between different cultures ... It is a medium for expression, and a strong distinguisher for many cultures. It often bridges cultural gaps, and when paired with dancing, is one of the most expressive mediums in the world. Mali has a complicated history with music. The medium was banned by Islamist rebels, a sort of oppression that can be very detrimental to the country s culture. While Bahrain does not share the exact feelings, similar sentiments are shared across the region. Throughout the play, Shakespeare ventilates a myriad of factors, which lends the audience to believe Lady Macbeth is the real villain, but in fact she is not to blame for the catalyst of Macbeth s downfall. The play centres on the notion of the real villain, and what really harbingers the death of Macbeth is explored, and whether the real villain and main cause of Macbeth s death was his manipulative wife, the supernatural witches or something from within the mind of the play s main protagonist. In the lead up to Macbeth s act of regicide and through his reign as king, he is influenced by a multitude of factors such as the witches three prophecies, his own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macbeths cruel and heartless natures goes as far as to organise the murder of one of his closest comrade and his son for the sole purpose that he feared that they were a threat to his kingship. Through this act of duplicity, we are shown a clear sign that his villainous side is now in control of him, even though what brought it forward was something external to his own mind. Additionally, in the final moments before Macbeth s decision to go through with the plan of killing Duncan, it had all but come down to his choice, with no ascendency from external sources. In Act 2, Scene 1, the dagger [he] sees before [him] might have been the final push he needed to commit his act of regicide and it is most likely that this vision of a dagger was created by his own imagination, demonstrating that part of his own mind, perhaps a villainous part of his sub conscious, was what created the illusion of the dagger. This makes it clear that deep down a part of him had the ambition to kill Duncan, and the use of a soliloquy enables the audience to hear his confused and conflicting thoughts as he is persuaded by his own mind to kill the king. These acts of evil are a result of the contributions to Macbeth s villainy by sources such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Andrew Carnegie expressed his ideas and views in article, The Gospel of Wealth, in which he outlines the duties of industrialist to better the life of their workers and community. He believed that the first thing a wealthy man must do is to meet the moderate wants and needs of their immediate family and dependents. He also believed that any left over money should be used for public works to better the community by that person s own judgment. Andrew states that the poor need to be guided by the rich because without that guidance the people will live the same poor life for their lifetime. He continues to say that the poor trust and rely on the rich to administer their lives because they can t successfully do it themselves. • 11. Civilization Vs Civilization Civilization is one of the greatest human inventions. From civilization we gain basic justice, morality and security. Although civilization is a powerful force, it is fragile. The book The Lord of The Flies by William Golding, strands a group of schoolboys on an uninhabited island and follows them as their tropical paradise becomes a hell on earth. As the boys situation becomes more dire and fear takes hold their makeshift society crumbles around them. The boys let civilization crumble as they turn towards savagery. When the group first lands on the island, their civilization is at its strongest because they respect and listen to Ralph. When the boys hold their first meeting they decide they need a leader. Ralph says ¨Who wants me?´ Every hand outside the choir except Piggy s was raised immediately¨ (Golding, 23). This act of voting shows that civilization is strong. This is because, to hold an election each individual has to value the group´s choice above his own. Even Jack accepts that Ralph is in charge even though he thinks he would be a better leader. Ralph also says I´ll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it when he is speaking . . . And he won t be interrupted.¨ (33). This shows the boys creating rules. Rules are another product of a strong civilization; they keep everyone safe and secures their rights. This rule secures the right of speech for all of the boys. At the eve of independence, during the 60 s for a handful of African countries, urbanization, in most cases, was well sought after (social condition). Western powers had developed following paths of industrialization and urbanization and the same was thought possible in Africa (pressure groups). The basic tenants of this assumption went as follows: Capital distributed from the West to Africa was to be invested in industrial enterprises in centers that wielded political power. This newly found industry would promote manufacturing and encourage domestic savings. Jobs would be created and the capital accumulated reinvested in development projects (de Beer et al 2005: 115 125). Doris Lessing wrote novels and short stories that challenged the mainstream beliefs of those in Southern Africa and England. Mariam Berkley, a biographer explained, Lessing s life has been a challenge to her belief that people cannot resist the currents of their time, as she fought against the biological and cultural imperatives. Her literature was very controversial because the topics she discussed brought in many different perspectives to problems in society. Her thoughts mainly tie in with racism and sexism. In Lessing s No Witchcraft for Sale she explains the messages of white people having control over blacks, the selflessness of the slave, and ways to deal with peer pressure. In No Witchcraft for Sale Doris Lessing explains the message of white people having complete control over blacks in what they are and are not able to do. In the early 1900s it was not uncommon to see blacks owned by whites. Blacks inability to get an education, live on their own, and get a job prohibit them from being able to be independent. Many had the desire to become educated, but were never able to do because of the time period. This is still a problem today, whites thinking they are somehow above blacks. • 36. Project Evaluation Of A Clinical Practice Project I have conducted a clinical practice project within the emergency department triage area in which I work. Evidence based research show that inefficiencies and delay of patient care may result in undesirable patient satisfaction and poor patient outcomes. Through a comprehensive and collaborative process, I will implement operational changes of two triage systems; quick triage and Twiage. The implementations of both of these systems will allow the department to accommodate the increased patient volume and improve the patient wait times, thus improving the quality of care and increasing patient satisfaction. This paper will include the current triaging problem, an organization that supports my chosen clinical project, proposed solutions, my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This current problem correlates with other issues within the emergency department. A study was performed by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) demonstrating the six components of the evaluations of the quality of one s care; Safety, effectiveness, patient centered care, efficiency, time, and equitability (Strang, Crotts, Johnson, Hartling, Guttman, 2015). The scope of my project involves training, education and changing the way our department interacts with arriving patients and the triaging process. The lack of specific tasks and communication in the triage area also lives. A dearth in communication has been directly linked to delays in patient care, medication errors, and lack of accountability (Sayah, Rogers, Devarajan, Kingsley Rocker, Lobon, 2014). With the use of appropriate quick triage, communication, and transfer of patients one can implement targeted goals in triage (Craig et at., 2016). The organization I selected to support my clinical project is The World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO is one of the most effective organizations for advocating and building healthier lives around the world. Their primary goal is to promote health with the use of evidence based research and resources (WHO, 2017). The WHO has developed the emergency triage assessment and treatment (ETAT). They teach emergent treatment skills of triaging ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010 and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non existent. This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply of coke exports to the United States.
