Answer to the interview questions
Due to conflict in schedules we couldn’t meet face to face for this interview so we sent James these questions so that he could answer them in his own time and not feel under pressure. From these answers we will have a better idea of how to plan our video.
Hiya James, Your song, my cure, what was your original idea for it, and how did this develop?Originally it was about a girl and a boy in love but once we came up with he name my cure I decided to add drugs to it. I did this because I thought it made the song deeper and relate to a wider audience. Why did you decide to write the song my cure?  I had an experience with a girl that I wanted to share and I wanted to also raise awareness of the effects of drugs. Did the song’s storyline have anything to do with your own experiences or someone else’s? Yes, the lyrics to this song are very important to me. Who were your influences for this song? My girlfriend and the experiences that my friends had with drugs. What would you like to achieve with this song? I would like to raise awareness of the effects of drugs and what they can do to people that changes their lives forever. Did you write this song because song writing is an interest of yours or because you want to become a musician? Because it was an interest to me. It would be good to make it big with this song but it as helped me by writing it so has already been beneficial to me. Why did you choose to play the guitar and how long have they played it? It was me who played the guitar and my friend who sang the song. I have played the guitar for around five years now and it is something that makes me calm relaxed. If you had more time would you like to add other instruments to your song? Definitely to give the song more depth. Why did you choose that particular theme? Because I wanted to share experiences and raise awareness. Who was your target audience and why? I chose teenagers because I like making songs that are relevant to my age group.
Due to the impact of James’ answers about the significance if drugs, we have decided to make sure that our video shows the impact of drugs and bring awareness to our audience.
