Efficient Support for MPI-I/O Atomicity
We consider the challenge of building data management systems that meet an important requirement of today's data-intensive HPC applications: to provide a high I/O throughput while supporting highly concurrent data accesses. In this context, many applications rely on MPI-IO and require atomic, non-contiguous I/O operations that concurrently access shared data. In most existing implementations the atomicity requirement is often implemented through locking-based schemes, which have proven inefficient, especially for non-contiguous I/O. We claim that using a versioning-enabled storage backend has the potential to avoid expensive synchronization as exhibited by locking-based schemes, which is much more efficient. We describe a prototype implementation on top of ROMIO along this idea, and report on promising experimental results with standard MPI-IO benchmarks specifically designed to evaluate the performance of non-contiguous, overlapped I/O accesses under MPI atomicity guarantees.

Failure to Launch Across the Lifespan
Failure to Launch is a subject I recently addressed at the Innovations in Recovery Conference in April 2016.
According to Psychology Today, the term “failure to launch,” is an increasingly popular way to describe the difficulties some young adults face when transitioning into the next phase of development—a stage which involves greater independence and responsibility. Although this is how it is commonly thought of in industry, from my experience the seedling for this phenomena may have been planted in the early teen and young adult years by over-anxious and well-meaning parents (often called helicopter parents) who wanted a life much easier than they experienced for their offspring.
The effects of FTL can be clearly observed in 49-50-60 and, yes, even 70 years-old individuals who are in need of behavioral health care interventions. These individuals often still live at home or are supported by their parents and do not work. Even if they have been married and have children, they still act as if they were a child and take little responsibility for their financial well-being. My hope is that you find this presentation helpful as we work to reach this fascinating population!

Which the teacher is only a facilitator, because she cited some strategies that considered as student- centered. She also said lecture are least effective because some students find it boring and exhausted. Student- centered includes task-base which allows student to independent. There are activities that the student needs to perform not only to sit down and listen to the teacher, Also to enhance the skills of the learner especially their communicative skills. She also said that learners lack on the emphasis in basic topics. I considered traditional teaching is not effective anymore base on the answers of the teacher to the question no.2. She also said that there is lack in support and effort of the admin. To provide school- based programs for student. For me schools should try their best to provide school- based program to enhance the skills of the learner and also to motivate them to study hard, administrator, can show their support through providing sports equipment, because learning by doing learners learned best. In student – centered student learned with fun. We teacher should cater the needs of the student not only designing lessons without any planning. That’s why there are some changes in our curriculum which can enhance the skills of the learner it is not the interview but it is viewing the different stands of the teacher towards the 5 questions given.
