International Youth Day by the UN
General Assembly in 1999, and first
celebrated in the year 2000
• The purpose of the day is to draw
attention to a given set of cultural and
legal issues surrounding youth.
• It is opportunity for governments and
others to draw attention to youth issues
worldwide

What is Depression?
• A Group of conditions associated with the elevation or
lowering of a persons mood, such as depression or
bipolar disorder
• Long periods of demotivation, social withdrawal and
asocial behaviour
• Feeling a sense of a low self worth for a lengthy period
of time
6. How do you differentiate
between sadness and depression
• Low mood spells don’t last longer than a couple of days
• Depressive spells can last for long periods of time
• Bipolar disorder is characterized by fluctuating manic
and depressive episodes
• Mostly depression classified as low, moderate, severe

8. • Depression debilitates patients into a
state of interia.
• Yoga, Travel, Meditation can help with
mild cases of depression.
• Root cause of mental disorder need to
be addressed.
9. Are Anti-Depressants only for
severe cases of depression
• Anti Depressants are prescribed on a case by case basis
• Stigma against anti depressants is completely
misinformed
• Anti depressants are just like any other medicines
which is on treatment basis (e.g. Diabetes-Anti-diabetic
drugs)
• Anti depressants are neither sleep inducing nor
addictive

11. • Most people confuse with sadness with depression
• So it is Strong biological component to mental health disorder
• People with depression feel worthless and negligible
• Nobody ‘chooses’ to be depressed for the sake of self pity
• We trivialize depression by using the term loosely to mean sadness
• Suicides are not a cry for help or attention

be in managing depression?
• Reach out to the mental health and Professionals

• False perception that depression is a disease of the
modern age
• Depression has been all around for a long time, We
have just learnt to identify it

rates among children in the US between
the ages of 10 and 17 was found with rise
in April 2017, The month after the show
released.
As per reported by the Times of
India, a 16 year old teen died of
cardiac arrest after playing PUBG
Mobile for 6 hrs. at a stretch.
