HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF
INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION
• Persian, Greek, Roman and British Empires are included in this
Historical Context.
• Using fire at night, smoke and mirror during sunlight was the form of
communication in the history.
• The Persian Empires used to send news from Capital to Provinces via
line of shouting people.
• Developed from Clay, Stones and wood Impressions in ancient Egypt,
Greek and Roman Empires.
• China Introduced paper printing in 8th century.
• The Mughal Empires employed the news writers, horsemen and
runners for the transmission of news.
• British dominated the sea routes of International Commerce.
• Electric Telegraph also invented in this Era in 1837 by Samuel Morse.
• After this Era, Marconi invented Radio in 1920.
• After the invention of Radio, TV and Internet got involved in
International Communication.
• Global News Agencies like Reuters and AFP etc make the
International Communication more convenient.
• Nowadays, more than 70% of our International Communication are
based on Social Media.
