In Search of Our Mother’s Garden is a memoir by Alice Walker, which shows nature’s 
influence on human beings and how it shapes our personality and even influences generations. The first 
paragraph deals with various duties and responsibilities of a mother. Her day began before sunrise and 
will not end until late night.

The pupils,
