CONTENT ANALYSIS 
Robert Hyden is an American poet, essayist and educator. His works often address 
the plight of African Americans. The poem “Those Winter Sundays”, deals about the story of a 
hardworking poor father who is being fondly remembered by his grown up son.
New vocabulary : Crack, ache, labour, weekday weather, 
blaze, splintering chronic anger. 
Facts and concepts : Strong family relationships, love and care 
of father, mother, siblings etc. 
Curriculum statements : To understand the crucial role of family 
ties in one’s upbringing 
To create awareness f one’s cultural roots. 
To empathise with the aged. 
To construct various discourse like 
conversation, skit, character sketch letter,
