Step I- Entry Activity 
Do you all enjoy music? Let’s listen to a track 
then… 
Teacher plays the song ‘Swapnangal’ from the malayalam 
movie ‘Kavya Mela’ and starts a discussion on Dreams….
A few quotes on Dreams…. 
“There is nothing like a dream to create the 
future.” – Victor Hugo 
“The future belongs to those who believe in 
the beauty of their dreams.” - Eleanor 
Roosevelt 
“You can design and create, and build the 
most wonderful place in the world. But it 
takes people to make the dream a reality.”
 Do you like to see dreams? 
 Do you have the habit of daydreaming?

So you all have dreams in life. How about listening to a poem on dreams? It 
discusses the importance of dreams in life. And the poet is…

•One of the earliest innovators of jazz poetry.

Step 3 
Teacher recites the poem with proper stress, rhythm and intonation
Step 5:Individual reading by the learner 
Students recite the poem individually with proper, stress, rhythm and intonation
Step 6: Tracking the reading 
Teacher asks the pupils to read the text and track their reading.
Step 7:Sharing with pair or peer 
Learners share their ideas within their group
Step 8: sitting in groups( collaborative learning) 
Learners sit in groups and discuss their understanding. Teacher 
megaphones their doubts to entire class and clarifies them.
Step 9: Glossary Reference with the help of the teacher 
The students find out the meaning of difficult words with the help 
of the teacher.

for plants to grow on it
Frozen /ˈfrəʊzn/- extremely cold
Step 10: Scaffolding Questions 
Teacher asks a few scaffolding questions to make the learner predict 
and establish thoughts and important facts 
 If dreams die what happens to our life? 
 What makes us feel that our life is a barren field?
Step 11:Appreciation 
Teacher makes the learner identify rhyming words, rhyme 
scheme, figures of speech and other poetic devices
