- 3. When did ICT starts? • Premechanical Period – During this period, way back 3000 B.C.E. to 1450 C.E. human started communicating with the used of words and pictograms curved on rocks.
- 4. When did ICT starts? • Mechanical Period – This is the bridge between our current period and the premechanical period. Around 1450 – 1840, Interest in automating and speeding up numerical calculations grew. This period was concentrated primarily on development of machines that will enhance calculation speed.
- 5. Blaise Pascal and Wilhelm Schickard - Invented the Pascaline, a mechanical calculator. PASCALINE
- 6. Charles Babbage - Invented the analytical engine that is the first programmable mechanical computer. This invention earned Babbage the title “Father of the computers.”
