In the Third Meditation of Discourse on Method and Meditations on First
Philosophy by Rene Descartes, Descartes gives a proof for the existence of God.
Descartes starts out by stating his general rule that everything he can clearly and
distinctly perceives must be true. However, Descartes stated in the First Meditation
that he can doubt things that are clear and distinct to him on the basis that he is
being deceived by God. In order to prove his rule to be true, he needs to prove the
existenceof God and that he is not a deceiver (Descartes 70 71). Descartes first
establishes that everything that exists, and has reality, has a cause. Everything is
put into existence by something else. Ideas have objective reality which is what
an idea is an idea about and all ideas differ in their objective reality. For example,
the idea of a supreme deity has more objective reality than something that is finite.
This is because something that is infinite is more real than something that is finite.
Because ideas have objective reality, that means that they must have a cause
(Descartes 72 73). Next, Descartes says, it is evident by the light of nature that
there must be at least as much [reality] in the efficient and total cause as there is in
the effect of that same cause. (Descartes 73). Here Descartes is basically saying
that it is evident that there must be as much reality in the cause of something as
there is in the effect. For instance, there must be as much cause in a child as there
is in the parents. Descartes now establishes that premise for ideas. He says that
there must be at least as much formal reality in the cause of the idea as the idea has
objective reality, and he clearly has an idea of God. Therefore, the cause of the
idea of God must have at least as much formal reality as the idea has objective
reality (Descartes 74 75). Descartes now establishes that the objective reality of the
idea of God is infinite. This is because God is an infinite being. Because the cause
of the idea of God must have at least as much formal reality as the idea has objective

Gregor s family found his attempts to talk annoying and irritating. An inability to
communicate easily is a huge blow for someone trying to retain some humanity.
One great difference between the two men is that Merrick was able to
communicate if he had something to write on, whereas Gregor was not able to
communicate well at all. Merrick wrote letters to people who he had met and notes
to the doctors and staff at the hospital where he spent most of his adult life (Treves

Just Say No. This phrase was uttered in 1982 by Nancy Reagan, the first lady of the
United States, in response to a schoolgirl s question of what she should do if offered
drugs (Weinraub A5). These words became the slogan for a nationwide substance
abuse prevention program that followed the then recently enacted drug policies
intended to discourage the manufacture, sale, and use of illicit drugs in the United

In this study we will investigate and compare two types of course sections. One
section will be online and the other will be face to face. The investigators will
analyze gender, age and learning styles. These groups will be evaluated on how
effective they were in completing the tasks of the course. The two sections will be
taught in the same semester and use the same instructional material. In this paper, the
investigators determined that there were no significant differences in test scores, ...

Between these two groups, no significant difference is perceived in the effectiveness
of these instructional learning styles.
There are no significant differences between the styles of instructional learning in the
competencies of this course to either group. There are no differences between the test
scores and final grades for either group.

Student Selection The study selections for students were open to different ages and
gender. The course outline was the same FTF as for the OL course. The
demographics for these groups show that the students registered for the OL classes

Each group would be given the same instructional course outline, test, and final
project. A variable that might affect this study is whether a student selects an OL
course over an FTF course due to their experience with technology. The

Water testing can consist of PH, hardness, nitrate/nitrite, in addition to bacteria
testing. The North Carolina Health and Human Services require far more testing for
the local waterways such as testing for uranium and radionuclide levels. This project
will focus on the local water sources such as ditches, streams, and bays. The water
samples came from around Dixon High School, Chadwick Shores Neighborhood, and
various ditch systems within Onslow County. Regular water testing is important for
monitoring pollution because of the lethal damage pollution can cause.

War has been around for as long as mankind has existed. War has been around since
the beginning for two reasons; because people either wanted to have a better life or
to protect their way of life. People go to war to gain land, economic gain, government
affiliations, and religion. Over the time that mankind has been around, warfare has

There is not much known about prehistoric and warfare. What is known is that war
did not happen very often. Small hunting and gathering groups that weathered the
last ice age had cause on occasion to attack each other. Such attacks were probably
for control of food sources, important raw materials water, trade routes, or perhaps
locations of presumed religious significance. Prehistoric hunters equipped
themselves with weapons to make their living. It was an easy step to turn those

was along the Nile in Nubia. The skeletons have wounds on their bones that are
consistent with warding off blows. There were also pieces of what is thought to be
small flakes of arrowheads buried along with the bodies. This is significant because

Campus Tours
I have had a total of 4 university tours. The university that I liked was GCU and
NAU. I loved the NAU campus, it was so beautiful. I really liked how the camps
looked after they remodeled mostly all the buildings. It just made the place look at
more modern and I liked how that looks. Another reason why liked NAU was
because the weather up north is nice and cool. The appearance of the school would
have to be my favorite part of the NAU tour. During the tour we walked around the
whole campus and were told where the important places were. There was very
interesting, the walk in sky dome. The walk in sky dome is a public place open to

I also visited GCU and I went on tour to see their medical program. I got to see
cadavers that students use to study. The students would show us parts of the
