1. Essay On Importance Of Voting
Composing an essay on the significance of voting is a task that requires a delicate balance
between conveying factual information, promoting civic engagement, and maintaining an
engaging narrative. The difficulty lies not only in articulating the importance of voting but also in
presenting the subject matter in a manner that resonates with diverse audiences.
To begin with, one must delve into the historical context, exploring the evolution of voting rights
and the struggles endured to secure them. This requires meticulous research to provide a
comprehensive overview while ensuring accuracy in the portrayal of events. Crafting a
compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention and establishes the relevance of the
topic is equally challenging.
The main body of the essay demands a structured approach, examining various aspects such as
the role of voting in shaping government policies, promoting social change, and safeguarding
democratic principles. Expressing these ideas coherently while avoiding monotony poses a
writing challenge. Additionally, incorporating real-life examples and current events enhances the
essay's relevance but necessitates staying updated on the latest political developments.
Furthermore, addressing potential counterarguments and presenting a balanced view adds
complexity to the writing process. Striking the right balance between persuasion and objectivity
requires careful consideration of opposing viewpoints. This demands a nuanced approach to
maintain the essay's credibility.
Concluding the essay is a task in itself, as it involves summarizing key points, reiterating the
importance of voting, and leaving a lasting impression on the reader. The challenge lies in
crafting a conclusion that feels conclusive without being overly repetitive or abrupt.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the importance of voting involves navigating through
historical nuances, current events, and persuasive techniques. It requires a careful blend of factual
accuracy, engaging storytelling, and a nuanced approach to different perspectives. For those

2. Reliant Stadium Essay
In the City of Houston, the interest in the world of sports has grown to tremendous
heights over the recent years due to winning teams, new teams and new sports
facilities. Among these new facilities is the new reliant stadium, which is home to a
fairly new Houston Texans football team since 2002 and Minute Maid park home of
the Houston Astros. Not long ago, things were much different. Before Reliant stadium
and Minute Maid we had the Astrodome. Instead of the Houston Texans, we had the
Houston Oilers. Both very capable football teams in two different arenas.
The man behind the creation was Judge Roy Hofheinz, who had a very uxorious
apartment built within the dome where he resided. Named the Eighth Wonder of the

NFL football established itself in the Astrodome when the Houston Oilers began
playing all their home games there after the preseason exhibition game with the
Washington Redskins in August of 1968. In 1987 the dome underwent a $100

were built, as well as being home of the Houston Astros and Houston Oilers, the
stadium has also hosted the United States Football League Houston gamblers, World
Football League Houston Texans and the University of Houston Cougars. In 1992 the
Republican Party held its national convention at the dome and the Oilers moved to
Tennessee after the 1996 season. The Astros played their last game in the Astrodome
on October 9, 1999, after which they moved to the newly constructed Enron Field to
start the 2000 season, today called Minute Maid Park.
Mickey Mantle hit the first home run at the Astrodome, in an exhibition game
causing the scoreboard to flash tilt . Judy Garland, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, the
Rolling Stones, Elvis and Michael Jackson played concerts there. Ali retained his
heavyweight title and Evil Knievel jumped 13 cars on his motorcycle. Most of the

China has been to make stupendous investment in Pakistan. If such investment
takes place in Pakistan, it will be an eye opener; the amount is nearly US$22

Chinese railway companies for its development. In 2001, Pakistan Railways
signed a $91.89 million contract with China National Machinery Import and
Export Corp for the manufacture of 175 new high speed passenger coaches,
funded by Exim Bank China, supplied on credit basis. Forty full built passenger
coaches have been given and 105 will be assembled in Pakistan Railways carriage
factory by next December. According to an agreement with China in 2003,
Pakistan Railways purchased 69 locomotives, out of which 15 were given as fully
built units and are in use by Pakistan Railways. The other 54 are to be constructed at

4. Cold War In Lord Of The Flies
In the novel, The Lord of the Flies, the author William Golding makes a lot of
references to a specific historical circumstance. This specific historical circumstance
stated in the novel being World War II. The Cold War was a battle fought between the
United States, American Capitalism, and the Soviet Union, Communists. This battle
was fought due to the growing tension between the two and their differing opinions.
Much like how the story plays out the relationship between Ralph and Jack. The
slight comparison between the two wasn t the only thing that referenced the war.
There was also a reference to the Cold Warby Ralph who not only mentioned the fact
that his father was part of the war but also mentioned one of the key people fighting in
5. Higher Education At The Liberal Arts
All types of education, whether technical or liberal, possess their own inherent merit.
The distinction between the two lies in the spectrum of a particular study s
application. A higher education in any study should be encouraged because more
knowledgeable individuals benefit both society and themselves through the
continuation of their education. The value of one type of education does not negate
the value of another. In today s society technical studies, that is studies with a direct
application in the workforce, are more widely encouraged due to the practical merit
of the study. It is true that technical studies are valuable, but their value does not
negate the immense value of liberal studies because of it lack of a single application.
Therefore, the conjunction of both liberal and technical classes in college provides
the greatest amount of benefit. Specifically, higher educationin the liberal arts is the
most valuable for it allowance of a broader application in every field of study and
also the larger social realm because of the critical skills it helps students to develop.
Firstly, society should view higher education as much more than the path to
obtaining a degree. The real merit of higher education lies not in the practical use of
a degree to obtain a job, but simply in the acquisition of more knowledge. On a basic
level, attending a university gives young minds a space in which to study their
chosen field. The Chinese philosopher Hsun Tzu argued that
6. The Importance Of Architecture In The 19th Century
The 19th century began with the United Kingdom in the throes of an industrial
revolution, a prosperous time for factory and mill owners, yet the working class lived
in substandard conditions. England being ruled by George IV, Britain s Most Useless
Monarch , a man who was known for his frivolous, dissolute lifestyle. With increasing
social inequality and an unsupportive government, there was civil unrest in the nation.
David Watkin, in his Book Morality and Architecture (1977), maintains that some
architecture is being formed from the social, moral, and philosophical beliefs of a
period. For Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, he saw Regency and Georgian
architecture as an abomination. This was a period of great civil unrest and
inequality. The French Revolution had occurred not long ago (1789 1799) and with a
government that represented corruption and disparity, this seemed like a reasonable
step forward. In Pugin s first book, Contrasts (1836) he argues that the state of the
society and its immorality was reflected in the architectural style adopted. The book
states that compared to Georgian architecture, Medieval Gothic architecture is morally
superior. This is perhaps the first time that an architect has claimed a style of
architecture is more moral than another. The stucco fronted facades of the buildings
and the decorative columns were dishonest to Pugin and therefore immoral in the
eyes of God.
Speaking about Medieval Cathedrals, Pugin says, It was, indeed,

Finally, the DHS found that the TSA had implemented procedures to investigate and
resolve passenger complaints regarding the screening process.
The TSA maintains a screening Performance Management Information System
(PMIS) where recorded complaints are logged. Operations research analysis teams
and federal security directors review complaints logged in the database to track
trends and identify areas of concern and take appropriate actions, including possible
disciplinary actions, to resolve specific issues. Complaints involving allegations of
discrimination based on color, race, gender, religion, or national or ethnic origin are
forwarded to the TSA s Office of Civil Rights for further investigation. Despite
considerable concern raised by some regarding inappropriate behavior during pat
down screening procedures, the DHS found no problems with the technique.
Nonetheless, privacy groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ALCU),
continue to express concern over potential intrusion on individual rights and alleged
cases of sexual harassment and abuse of passengers, particularly female passengers,
by TSA screeners. These concerns, however, raise a significant challenge for the
TSA: to maintain high levels of security, which require resolving all alarms and
screening in detail those passengers ascertained to pose an elevated security risk,
while maintaining the privacy rights and dignity of passengers identified for these

9. Research Paper on How Plants Absorb Nutrients
How plants get liquid and minerals
Flowers absorb liquid through their roots, which are attached to xylem vessels.
Xylem vessels are tubes that can expand through several feet of tissue and be .7mm
in diameter. Their walls are thickened with cellulose deposits. Xylem bring water up
to the leaves and petals of the plant. Even without contact with the roots, the xylem
can still absorb water. Because of this, a cut flower usually doesn t die for a couple
days (as long as it is placed in water of course).
The fluid inside of the plants is transported by capillary action. Capillary action is
caused by surface tension and adhesion. Adhesion is an attraction between two
substances of different states (such as a liquid and a solid). An example ... Show more

10. The Emperor s New Clothes Essay
Hans Christian Andersen s fable, The Emperor s New Clothes is a prophetic
warning for our generation. He understood 200 years ago how dangerous the
contradiction of beliefs may be. In order to have justice we need truth. Justice, in
society today is presented as seemingly the most important value, a cornerstone of
civilization. At the same time people have stopped believing in absolute truth. In the
story, the townspeople decide whether or not they see the emperor s clothes, just like
society attempts to change the understanding of truth from objective to a relative
one, based on individual point of view. The tailors in the fable convince the town
that only the wise are able to see the magic clothes. In so doing they are dictating the

This dramatic change was achieved by a carefully designed campaign using courts,
media, and a web of lies to change public opinion. Nowadays the bubble zones
around abortion clinics prevent pro life counselors from informing parents about the
dangers of abortion. At the same time, secular media mostly ignores pro life
awareness projects, and presents an exclusively biased pro abortion point of view.
The many lies about abortion are created to convince everyone that the procedure is
completely harmless, normal, and should be accepted as a basic human right. Pro
choice activists promote abortion as an insignificant surgical procedure contrary to
established scientific facts. Health risks include hemorrhage, infections, a higher risk
of breast cancer and even death. Abortion not only harms the woman physically, but
can also have a lifelong emotional and mental fallout on the whole family. In
masking evil as good, society distorts the truth in the abortion debate, and since truth
is a requirement for justice, we need to reveal it. When the Emperor struts through
town with no clothes on, he is still praised by the townspeople, even though he is
naked. In the same way, the promoted politically correct view approves and supports
abortion as inconspicuously named woman s right to

A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki is about a young sixteen year old girl
name Nao from Tokyo. Ever since she has moved back to Japan from Sunnyvale,
California, she has continuously felt more isolated from her family and classmates.
After she buys a diary with the cover reading, In search of lost time, she becomes
interested in the idea of time. Nao is especially interested in trying to find the

When Nao lived in Sunnyvale, California, she was always trying to understand

Nao doesn t understand what now is, she doesn t understand herself. Because the
word is part of her, it makes it even more confusing because she doesn t understand
herself. In the beginning of the book, Nao feels like she is useless, and that her life

Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th 8th Grade Chapel Choir Members,
I am writing to inform you about recent changes to the Friday only Chapel Choir
class structure.
In an effort to make students more successful, comfortable, and enjoying their class,
the format was altered from a typical choir rehearsal to something more akin to Music
Appreciation/ General Vocal Music. So far, the results have been positive. Students
now do not sing every class period, but are experiencing and learning about many
different aspects and styles of music. They are graded on classwork (work
completion, effort, participation), formative assessments (classwork graded for
accuracy), and summative assessments (projects lasting longer than one class
period). Friday choirs will no longer perform in chapels. I apologize if this is
something you had looked forward to. However, I have offered any student who
wants to sing, the opportunity to sing in chapel as a small group. This is something
that students would work on as an alternative to one of our class activities. So far, 3
students have come forward asking to sing.
Please read below to learn more about why we switched. ... Show more content on

like a church choir. This format fit well with the goal of creating lifelong musicians,
as church choirs might be the only choir many students experience into adulthood.
This fall, I also gave students weekly homework in an effort to make students more

The EU was developing a particular system to mitigate CO2 and other GHG

effective system to combat climate change and tool to reduce CO2 and other GHG

The EU ETS has biggest and first main emissions trading in the world. This system

trading scheme puts price on each ton of carbon emissions. As the CO2 emissions

from 2013, the cap will be making change by reduce emission about 1.74% every
year from power plants and installations. That means GHG emission in 2020 will be
reduce around 21% compared to 2005 (European Communities, 2013).
2.3 local responses
In light to local response for UK to mitigate CO2 emission and other GHG, it has
established Climate Change Act on 26 November 2008. These act aims to several
legislation that helps to manage and address climate change (GOV.UK, 2013 a).
Therefore, the act works to achieve aims as the following: First, make certain
economic way to reduce emissions and reduce about 80% of GHG by 2050 compared
to 1990 (HM Government, 2011 GOV.UK, 2013 a). Second, providing clear plan for
industry to work effective in reduce emission by the act (GOV.UK, 2013 a).
Third, use EU ETS policy to provide large proportion to reducing emissions in the
UK between the 2013 and 2020. Fourth, use 2050 Calculator by public and policy
makers to choosing the appropriate options to reduce emission and achieve the
target of 2050 (GOV.UK, 2014). The 2050 Calculator is model that help policy
makers and public to choose the appropriate way for reducing emissions

Bilingual Education:
Frank Smith, a psycholinguist recognized for his contributions in cognitive
psychology and linguistics, expresses the advantages of bilingualism One language
sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.
However, only 18% of Americans can speak more than one language, while 53% of
Europeans and 99% of Latvians are bilingual. The United States does not have a
standard foreign language mandate at any level of education; some states permit
individual school districts to set their own language requirements in high school, but
primary schools rarely offer foreign language classes. This is unfortunate as with the
ability to speak more than one language comes a global consciousness that opens ...

However, some opinions, such as ones that Richard Rodriguez, a graduate of
Stanford, Columbia, and Berkeley and an American author known for his writing on
intellectual development, holds, are anti bilingual education. Rodriguez claims that
the native language, or private language , should not be taught in the classroom, as it
encompasses intimacy, which classrooms cannot support.
Actually, being bilingual benefits the individual both mentally and physically,
promotes cultural awareness, and allows for an individual to be more successful in
today s international world. Dr. Ellen Bialystok, a developmental psycholinguist
ranked as Distinguished Research Professor at York University, states that bilinguals
have improved memory, decision making, multitasking, and focusing skills. Also,
bilingualism allows individuals to acquire a unique cultural awareness, as each
language not only carries communication but its cultural, traditions, and values..**
(stimulus) Some may question why English only speakers should speak a foreign
language while other countries are promoting their citizens to learn English.
However, as the U.S. diversifies and the job market toughens, it is beneficial for
individuals to make themselves more valuable to employers. These mental, physical,
and social implications of bilingualism are positive and aid the nation would in
preserving the cultures that the melting pot U.S. is known for. To promote effective
and beneficial bilingualism throughout the nation, dual language immersion programs
should be implemented into U.S. school

the sun gets older which results to a larger and warmer star that can result to the

atmosphere will become a moist greenhouse , leading to a runaway evaporation of
the bodies of water. As a consequence to this, plate tectonics will become terminated,
and so with the entire carbon cycle. Right after this event, in about 2 to 3 billion
years, the planet s magnetic dynamo may halt, causing the decay of the
magnetosphere and leads to the accelerated disappearance of volatiles from the
external atmosphere. And four billion years from now, there would be a massive
increase in the temperature of the Earth s Surface that may result to a runaway
greenhouse effect, heating the surface that is sufficient enough to melt it. By that
point, all life on the Earth will be gone. The most foreseeable fate of the Earth is its

human life will terminate on planet Earth due to anthropogenic climate change and

18. Property Rights Libertarianism
There is much controversy surrounding the proposal of an unconditional basic
income. This system would provide cash income to everyone, instead of offering
compensation in the form of food or health care to a margin of the population. In
Matt Zwolinski s article Property Rights, Coercion, and the Welfare State: The
Libertarian Case for a Basic Income for All , he defends the unconditional basic
income. He defends the unconditional basic income from a libertarian point of view.

According to Locke, we acquire property rights by mixing our labour with resources.
However, claiming a property right is claiming the right to use force to prohibit others
from using a resource that was formerly open to all. It seems that this would be
supporting a concept that restricts our liberties something that libertarians are
normally committed to protecting. It is important to note that mixing labour with
rescues is not the sole condition for establishing a property right the Lockean proviso
must be satisfied.
The Lockean proviso states that for one to take a resource out of the common stock
of nature and claim it as their own individual property, they must ensure that they are
still leaving enough (if not more than enough) of the resource for others. The purpose
of the proviso is to ensure that all individuals have access to our planet s natural
resources in order to support their lives. It is important to note that the proviso is
individualistic, as opposed to aggregative. Most utilitarian principles justify
institutions in terms of the overall scheme

20. Which Lobe Is The Most Important Part Of The Brain
Essay
The most important part of the brain involved in memory is the cerebral cortex. It
is located on the outermost layer of the brain and is responsible for thinking and
processing information from the five senses. It is made up of tightly packed neurons
and is the wrinkly like form that surrounds the brain. The cortex is divided into four
different lobes the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital, which are all for different
types of sensory information. As the name indicates, the frontal lobe is located on the
front of the brain. The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that controls important
everyday cognitive skills such as emotion, problem solving, memory, language,
judgement, and sexual behaviour. It has often been described as the control panel of
our personality and our ability to communicate. The parietal love is located on the
upper back part of the cortex and is involved in the sensory information that should do
with touch taste and temperature. This lobe can carry information within seconds,
with the information being integrated and processed. The temporal lobe is positioned
on the bottom part of the cortex, right behind the temples on your face. Its function is
to process auditory information from the ears. It is also key to being able to
comprehend or understand speech. One of the most... Show more content on

21. Breaking Bad Stereotypes
Breaking Bad to many Hollywood movies because Season One represents almost
all of the Latino males that are gang members and drug dealers. There is a heavy
stereotype that only male Latinos are involved in gangs and drugs since Breaking
Bad has no other characters that are Latino outside. Crazy 8 and Tuco, two of the
main antagonists, are both Latino drug dealers. Both men come off as extremely
dangerous and violent. Crazy 8 has a desire to kill White and Pinkman and Tuco
was shown beating up Pinkman. Breaking Bad also shows their aggression through
their words. For example, Tuco says, I beat the piss out of your little mule boy to
White showing him as violent. The Drug Enforcement Administration also uses the
words some Mexican super lab which is stereotyping that there are many Latinos
involved in drug related activities (Crazy Handful of Nothin , 2008).... Show more

sense given Breaking Bad s genre and narrative strategies: there is no underlying
mythology or complex mystery to parse...transmedia extensions offer virtually no
narrative events that seem particularly relevant to the story as a whole (2015, para.

therefore, the transmedia works well with the narrative span and
22. The Non-Teleological View Of Life In East Of Eden By
John...
There is no meaning to life. Life has no inherent meaning. The meanings of our
lives are chosen by what we feel and experience or are assigned to us by others. The
ends of our existence cannot be foreseen and will not be limited by such things as
destiny. These are the ideas and philosophies of those who believe life to be non
teleological. A famous literary example of a non teleologist is a man named John
Steinbeck. Throughout his life Steinbeck experimented with Darwinism,
transcendentalism, realism, socialism, naturalism, and Taoism (Endnotes 1). Each of
these ways of thinking show up in Steinbeck s philosophy and therefore his work
cannot be classified specifically. All that may be said is that he had a non teleological

There is an important idea to keep in mind when considering teleology. The question
in not whether there are efficient or final causes, whether for instance, man sees
because he has eyes or has eyes in order to see (Teleological Explanations 1).
One of the clearest examples of Steinbeck s non teleological view of life occurs in
the novel East of Eden in which a character discusses choice in life and glory of the
human soul as a result of that choice. Lee is revealing his discovery of the correct
translation of the story of Cain and Able in The Bible.
The American Standard translation orders men to triumph over sin, and you call sin
ignorance. The King James translation makes a promise in В‘Thou shalt, meaning
that men will surely triumph over sin. But the Hebrew word, the word
timshelВ—В‘Thou mayest В—that gives choice. It might be the most important
word in the world. That says the way is open. That throws it right back on a man.
For if В‘Thou mayest it is also true that В‘Though mayest not. Don t you see?
(303) The character, Lee, being a Chinese refugee, takes this new idea to heart not
as a religious philosophy but as a way of viewing life. He stated: This is not
theology. I have no bent towards the gods. But I have a new love for that flittering
instrument, the human soul. It is a lovely and unique thing in the universe. It is

more in detail about the importance of coral reefs, they are providers of food source

evolved into reef building forms over the last 25 years (Donner). There are two
types of coral, one is hard coral, which is the major reef building species and then
there is soft coral, which are sea fans and sea whips. The reefs are classified into
three types: barrier reefs, fringing reefs, and atolls. They create specialized habitats

Post independence, the Philippines economy swirled through a dizzying cycle of

30. Luck In Sports Research Paper
It is almost inevitable for one to experience both success and failure in his/her
lifetime. One s successes and failures control the development of his/her character.
Furthermore, factors such as hardwork and dedication determine success, whereas
bad luck and inequality of ability commonly are the factors attributed to one s failure.
One who continuously fails to obtain a goal or to overcome an obstacle will not
admit that he/she did not work sufficiently to complete the task, and, therefore, will in
turn blame the failure on uncontrollable factors. The uncontrollable factors can range,

the end zone. After the snap, Flutie scrambled to his right, avoiding a sack. Flutie had

31. Johann Sebastian Bach Impact
Johann Sebastian Bach is primarily known for being an outstanding organist and
virtuosic. He was a German composer in the baroque period. The baroque period is
the time where human emotions start to influence music and is often associated
with being romantic. Bach was regarded in his time as an extremist because he had
great detail in his pieces. In his 65 years of life, he wrote over 1,000 compositions.
Bach s most famous works include Toccata and Fugue in D minor, The Well
Tempered Clavier, and The Cello Suites. It is safe to say that Bach left an imprint
and is still influential to music all over the world. His pieces are still recognizable
and used in numerous movies. Bach influenced 18th and 19th century composers
such as Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. Bach has several monuments
including the one in Leipzig built in 1908 that people still frequently visit. Using
his talent and skills with music, Bach shared his love for music and began to make
a name for himself. Bach was born Eisenach, Germany, on March 31, 1685. He came
from a multi generation family of musicians. Elizabeth Lämmerhirt Bach was his
mother s name and his father, Johann Ambrosius Bach, was a church organist and
taught young Bach how to play the violin. At age ten, after his mother and father
died, Johann moved to Ohrdruf, Germany and received his first lesson on the
keyboard from his brother who played the organ for St. Michaels Church. From there,

The body temperature of most domestic animals is considerably higher than the
environmental temperature to which they are exposed most of the time. They
maintain their body temperatures by balancing internal heat production and heat loss
to the environment. The hypothalmus gland acts as a body thermostat by stimulating
mechanisms to counteract either high or low ambient temperatures (FAO, 1986). For
example, increased conversion of feed to heat energy is used to counteract low
ambient temperatures, while for example increased respiration (rate and volume) and
blood circulation in the skin counteracts high ambient temperatures. Varying
temperature also results in changed behavior . Most animals reduce their level of
activity in a hot environment and, for example, pigs lie clustered in a heap at low
temperatures, while they lie

musician who played cello, as well as several other instruments in court concerts.
Franz Liszts father passionately taught him how to play piano, and by the age of 6,
was already recognized as a child Prodigy. At this age, Liszt began to show interest
in both church and gypsy music. He developed into a religious child, partly
because of his father who spent two years of his youth in the Franciscan order. By
the age of eight, Liszt began to compose elementary works. At the age of nine, he
made his first public appearance as a concert pianist at Sopron and Pozsony. His
playing impressed the local Hungarian magnates so much that they put up the
money to pay for his musical education for the next six years. His father took a
leave of absence from the Prince, so that he could devote his time to helping his son
s musical education. They went to Vienna, where he learned piano with Carl Czerney,
a composer and pianist who had been a pupil of Beethoven, and studied composition
with Antonio Salieri, the musical director at the Viennese Court and one of Mozart s
rivals. Liszt continued to perform concerts with great success, his most notable talent

It is also part of our duty to relay information as best as we can to individuals so that
they can understand the tasks. Therefore, providing feedback is significantly
important to learners. It is critical that when individuals are learningthat they receive
the correct feedback so that they may be able to perform the task with the correct

Development is related to functional capacity, sequential change, and is age related
but not age dependent (Haywood Getchell, 2014). Development in functional
capacity is reflected by changes that are more noticeable at a specific point in life.
Development in sequential change is reflected by an orderly fashion where one step
leads to next the step of progress. Age related but not age dependent development
finds that rate of development will be different among individuals at the same age
(Haywood Getchell, 2014). In the case of the boy practicing the motor skill of
hopping, sequential change of development would be the development from
jumping with two feet to hopping on one foot. I don t think this boy s development
of hopping is due to sequential change since he and his classmates were able to
transition from jumping to hopping. However, I would judge that the child that
displayed difficulty with hopping would be an example of age related
development. Although many children at his age are able to perform hopping
easily, he was still struggling with learning the skill. This shows that this boy is
developing the skill at slower rate than some of his classmates. Furthermore, there
is evidence of continuous change in functional capacity. The boy showed that there
is a continuous change in functional capacity because he is still learning and
developing skills at his age. He is continuously improving one skill after another as
he ages. For example, he is proficient in running at his age because he has practiced
and learned to be comfortable with running. Soon this boy will be comfortable with
hopping and will be able to develop other skills along the lines of

Muslim ones, and they must wear distinctive clothing. Even after all of these rules the
Jewish community still thrived in the Ottoman Empire. The population of Jews in the

noticeable and most studied among the Jews in the Ottoman Empire were the

with Europe. Europeans brought new languages and technologies including the

The drugs are not methamphetamines or cocaine, but a tiny pill obtained from a

Talbot 3). Perfectly healthy individuals are turning to these so called
neuroenhancers (Talbot 3) or smart pills (qtd. Cheshire 264) to improve their
mental abilities. According to research led by Sean Esteban McCabe, a professor at
the University of Michigan s Substance Abuse Research Center, the individuals
most likely to take neuroenhancers in college were white male undergraduates at
highly competitive schools especially in the Northeast (Talbot 3). The appeal of
these drugs seems to lie in the fact that they target subjective symptoms (Cheshire
264) in healthy people instead of a disease. Neuroenhancers are looked to as a way
to quickly improve a person s mental capabilities in order to perform better at tasks in
a limited amount of time.
Another reason for the increasing rise in the use of neuroenhancers is that these
drugs are readily available. Often classmates have seen their peers with ADHD
take these pills. In college, it is an easy matter of borrowing some from a friend
with ADHD who has a ready supply through a prescription or they buy them from a
supplier (Talbot 3). One student closely observed the symptoms of his brother who
had been diagnosed with ADHD. Upon describing these same symptoms to his
doctor, the healthy student received a prescription for Adderall (Talbot 2). Drugs
such as Adderall and Ritalin are amphetamines which the Food and Drug

41. What Is The Theme Of The Poem Design By Robert Frost
In his poem Design, Robert Frost constructs a compelling relationship between the
natural and supernatural worlds, proposing that creation is governed by the design of
darkness ( Design 13) and was constructed with intention by a divine, omnipotent
hand. He seems to posit that this premeditated design is the only plausible
explanation for the violent, survivalist motivations directing the actions of what he
considers to be inherently innocent beings (in this case, the predatory spider and the
moth on which it preys). To illustrate this belief, the poet introduces and develops a
trilogy of distinct, yet interrelated, dichotomies throughout the poem: that between
light and dark, innocence and evil, and life and death. Frost achieves this... Show

Indeed, his sonnet is guided by one overarching question: What force personal or
divine governs the laws of nature? Frost seems to argue that the violent, predatory,
and survivalist actions that these inherently innocent creatures adopt are premeditated
and irrelevant to the nature of the animals; they are the product of intentional design,
willed into existence by a divine and omnipotent higher power. However, the initial
draft of the poem, entitled In White, failed to provide a confident answer to this
problem. Frost could not determine, at that point, whether the spider s actions
reflected an inner evil, or if its actions were truly determined by supernatural forces.
In the end, Frost s revisions to both the poem s verse form and diction reveal his
final conclusions: that nature is not evil but rather directed by this higher power, this
design of darkness that unconsciously drives otherwise innocent creatures to
savagery as a means for survival ( Design 13). By the poem s conclusion, it becomes
evident that Frost is satisfied with his conclusions (though he can never empirically
prove their validity), and that he confidently believes, at long last, that he has [used]

Comeau St James Campus Directory: To improve student satisfaction scores, we
believe navigation on the St James Campus at George Brown College should be
addressed. It is particularly difficult to navigate around the campus when not familiar
with its accommodations. It is an essential service at the campus which will help
reach the college s main objectives of: attaining a better reputation, increasing
enrolment, increasing graduation rate and increasing student satisfaction. Therefore,
to enhance the quality of student experience and accessibility to resources, we will
implement a pilot project Digital Campus Directory. This new digital directory will
allow students and faculty members to navigate through the campus with ease.
Interactive touch screens assembled in a triangle formation, will be placed at the
major entrance of building A at the St James Campus. To allow for further ease of
navigation, smaller screens with be mounted on each floor, in between the elevators
to replace current paper directories. These improvements will allow students to view
floor plans of the school, identify amenities, and link up to social medium to get in
touch with different activities and events happening in and around the campus. This
directory will also be used to directly search specific room numbers and

Colonel Montgomery forces who showed up with very low morale and most

46. Pros And Cons Of Modern Technology
Technology is changing and improving every single day. The future is guaranteed
to be filled with technology and there definitely will be some things that may work
out better than others. Holograms are ,in my opinion, one of the biggest things
thats need to start being researched today. Some people may think that holograms
may not be as integral for the future as others may see, or may be ethically wrong,
but, I think that they are going to be seen everywhere and become as common as a
smart phone is in today s world. They have so many benefits, such as the the
medical and political world. Holograms also have so many useful possibilities for
the everyday person, such as cars and phones. Holograms are ready to mark on
society, it is just a matter of time until we feel ready for them to become reality.
What is a 3D hologram. According to Matthias Mangold, the managing director of
Magic Holo, a 3D hologram is defined as a 3D projection that exists freely in space
and is visible to everyone without the need for 3D glasses. Just like in futuristic
movies where you see someone pop out of a phone and talk to you. This
technology is a lot closer than you think. In a article that was written in December
of 2015, it states, A 16 company consortium called ETRI, led by LG Display
division, has created tabletop holographic display that can be viewed from all

Basket making was normally done by the elders of the tribe. The elders would sit
around large fires weaving baskets and singing ancient songs or prayers. Phillip
Martin said, The baskets were made out of any materials found in the area. The
most common material used was tall grass (Martin 1). The baskets can be found in
various sizes and different configurations. While in the Hall of the Tribes we found
a basket that was taller than a fully grown man. The basket was made out of tall
grass and weighed well over one hundred pounds. In order to color a basket tall
grass would have to be cut and dried on drying racks. After the grass was dried
baskets would be decorated with dye. In order to dye a basket a particular color
different herbs, fruit berries, flowers, grasses of color, and certain species of trees
were selected to make the different dye colors. The materials used for dye were
then crushed or pulverized into powder and made into paste or liquid paint. After
the dye paint was made the tall grass was soaked in the desired color and again
placed on drying racks. Weavers then selected the desired color stained grass and
wove it into their baskets. After we departed the Hall of Tribes, we ventured out into
the surrounding snow covered grounds to see the ancient structures and ceremonial
dwellings that were also painted with the same colors and patterns as used on

Epilepsy is a general term for any brain disorder that causes unpredictable regular
seizures. These seizures as caused by a disturbance in the brain s electrical activity.
It is considered a chronic neurological disorder, the fourth most common in the
world. There were around 3.4 million people reported as having epilepsyin the United
States in 2015 with 470,000 of those being children (CDC, 2017). This is about
1.2% of the population in the United States (CDC, 2017). There are about 50 million
people who experience epilepsy globally (WHO, 2017). In the District of Columbia
there are about 7,500 cases of active epilepsy. It s estimated that 2.4 million people

A child is reported as having active epilepsy if their guardian reports they have a
history of diagnosed epilepsy or seizure disorder (CDC, 2017). Seizures that those
with epilepsy experience fall into three main categories: generalized onset seizures,
focal onset seizures and unknown onset seizures. Generalized seizures affect both
sides of the brain at the same time (Type of Seizures, 2017). Focal seizures begin in
only one part or section of the brain (Type of Seizures, 2017). Focal seizures can
happen while the person is aware of the seizure (called focal onset aware seizures)
or when the person s awareness is impaired (called focal onset impaired awareness)
(Type of Seizures, 2017). Seizures are classified as unknown onset when it is
unclear where the seizure began (Type of Seizures, 2017). Seizure symptoms
typically include loss of consciousness, jerking movements, muscle tensing and
weakness as well as spasms (Type of Seizures, 2017). Focal seizures can also include
automatic movements that a repeated in a rhythmic fashion such as clapping or lip
smacking (Type of Seizures, 2017). Often time EEG tests as well as blood tests or
brain imaging tests like MRI or CT scans can be used to help diagnose the type of

50. Plural-Elitism In American Politics
American Politics is said to be the biggest, most intricate machine the world has
ever seen. It is dirty and grinding constantly, in order to get things done. With this,
many people would agree. As with any machine, there has to be a driving factor,
something that pushes forward everything else; in a car, it is an engine, in a body, it
is the heart. The driving force for American politics, however, is an issue in which
many people do not agree. In this paper, Pluralism, Elitism, and Plural Elitism will be
explored as the three major viewpoints on this subject. Pluralism stems from the idea
that a multitude of groups, not the people as a whole, govern the United States
(Udel.edu). These groups include labor unions, civil rights activists, lobbyists, and
environmentalists, as well as many others. Pluralists argue that Public policy is the
outcome of group forces pushing against one another (Barry 4). Some would say that
a Pluralist governmentis undemocratic, seeing as the power does not lie with
individuals, and therefore should not become the American way of life. Pluralists
themselves, however, would argue that in fact a democratic government is
undesirable, seeing as most everyday people are not educated on politics, and
therefore really should not have much of an influence on political decisions.
Furthermore, they would argue that Pluralism is... Show more content on

This conjoined perspective includes the idea that there is an elite hierarchy at play,
but groups, such as civil rights activists and environmentalists, also have a strong

needs the brain, the car has the engine, but couldn t go anywhere without
51. Blade Runner Film Analysis
Blade Runner: Film Analysis and Critics Review
Blade Runner (1982), directed by Ridley Scott, combines the element, film noir
and science fiction, thus creating a outstanding visual aesthetic that has been
embraced by most critics. Based on Philip K. Dick s novel, Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep? (1968), many critics embraced this sci fi film, although it leaves out
a majority of the novel s plot and themes while scenes are modified significantly.
The plot follows police officer Rick Deckard, known on the street as a blade runner,
as he tracks four renegade androids that are genetically engineered replicants that are
almost impossible to distinguish from humans. This leads Deckard to the Tyrell

Time s Richard Corliss praised the film s visuals by stating: Blade Runner, like its
setting, is a beautiful, deadly organism that devours life; and [Harrison] Ford, the
cockily engaging Star Warrior of Raiders of the Lost Ark, allows his heroic stature
to shrivel inside it. In comparison, [Rutger] Hauer s silver haired superman is more
human than human, and finally more complex than Ford s victimized flatfoot.
Because of this imbalance of star roles, and because this drastically recut movie
has a plot that proceeds by fits and stops, Blade Runner is likely to disappoint
moviegoers hoping for sleek thrills and derring do. (68). This is the most beautiful
critique of the film from a critic as he analyzes the film with the insight of a scholar.
Although film critics are the most articles that are considered upon a movie s
release, scholarly articles are more accurate as it relates to interpreting depth and
capturing the film s meaning. Varun Begly states in his article: The film as a whole
exhibits something of the parody without irony quality of the postmodernist pastiche.

The audience that Jesus was speaking to was engulfed in the teaching of the day.
Not only through the hearing of the teachings, but also through the actions of those
in religious leadership and the actions of normal every day people. Jesus made
sure that the church was aware that he was not discounting the law or trying to
replace it, but rather he was getting back to the heart of the law and showing how
kingdom people live out these laws . Jesus did this by going through laws that had
been given and misinterpreted, and then Jesus guides them on what the law was
originally trying to say. I will argue that Jesus was trying to get back to the heart of
the laws that were given, as well as encourage his followers to give up their rights for

Verse 33 in Matthew 5 the first type of oaths that are addressed are oaths made to the
Lord. Something that was common to both the Jewish culture and the Gentile culture
is that the mention of a deity in an oath spoke to the truth of the oath and also to
punish the one taking the oath if what was affirmed was not true . People soon
began manipulating this by thinking that they could manipulate God into doing
things . They were trying to limit the freedom which God possesses. Jesus then
goes on to say, Do not swear at all and continues on to list several things that are not
to be sworn by. During this time, if someone had made an oath and it turned out to
be false, as long as the offending party had not sworn to the Lord it was not looked
at as a serious offense . Swearing by heaven, earth, Jerusalem, or even one s own
head was an even less serious type of oath and if people were already doubting the
assurance of the Lord, how much more would they have questioned the truthfulness
of an oath made to something seen as a lesser binding object ? One commentator
notes that although the Greek word choice is an unconditional negative it does not
preclude all oaths. To take this as an unconditional statement poses significant
problems for the audience. In the Old TestamentGod himself made oaths . Some
commentators would even say that when Jesus makes the truly, truly statements he is
swearing to be true . One commentary even goes on to say, in
