Introduction It is a general term for several factors that cause nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worrying. These factors affect how we feel and behave, and they can manifest real physical symptoms a serious mental health condition in which a person feels unsure about their future predicaments and unworthy of applying themselves in any given situation. Anxiety imposes itself not only on adults but it takes its toll on children and adolescents as well. Normally, parents want their children to be happy. Despite their best to provide and protect them, children still encounter disappointments, frustrations, or real heartbreak. The current study is an attempt to investigate anxiety and possible risk factors in adolescents in relation to psycho social well being in adolescents. Methodology A cross sectional survey research design was adopted in order to address the problem of anxiety symptoms, risk factors and psychosocial well being of adolescents in secondary schools. A total of 400 male and female emerging adults served as subjects in the study. Questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data. While qualitative data was collected with the use of focus group discussion and interview to buttress quantitative data collected with questionnaire. Chi square was used to analyze the quantitative data and a thematic content assessment was used to analyze qualitative data. Results The results revealed that anxiety is negatively correlated with various dimensions of psycho social well being and there exist a significant difference among male and female adolescents in context of anxiety. The impact of anxiety can accompany victims into adulthood, where they appear to be at greater risk of suicidal behaviours and other mental health problems. Again, findings reveal that the psychosocial well being of adolescents is significantly affected by anxiety symptom. Equally it was retained that loneliness, low self esteem and aggression has a significant negative effect on adolescent’s psychosocial well being. Furthermore, the findings from this present study show that the issue of anxiety and its risk factors are very common during adolescence even though it is considered to be less a problem. This implies that it is necessary to utilize the results of this study to implement programs or courses in psychology that will inform people about the early signs of adolescent risk factors and symptoms of anxiety. Implication Following the findings of this study and based on the study problem, it was discovered from the variables under study that a good proportion of adolescents in secondary schools are seen to portray some symptoms and risk factors for anxiety which has negatively affected their well being both socially and psychologically. It is hope that this study will be helpful in highlighting the undesirable nature of anxiety among adolescents. Sociopolitical Crisis as a Predictor of Students’ Anxiety toward Schooling UN...ijtsrd
The sociopolitical crisis in the Anglophone regions Northwest and Southwest of Cameroon has impacted the mental health of students and exacerbated the prevalence of anxiety among them. The purpose of this study is to explore how sociopolitical crisis predict students’ anxiety towards schooling in the University of Bamenda. The study was based on the premise that University students often come with a replete of anxiety during this sociopolitical crisis that often lead to psychological breakdown. The purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 140 students. The instrument used to collect data was the questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using the Spearman’s correlation test. The findings revealed that sociopolitical crisis in Bamenda P value=0.048 0.05 affected students’ psychological wellbeing due to anxiety. It was concluded that sociopolitical crisis has a significant explanatory power over students’ anxiety towards schooling making them academically stressed up and others have less interest in school. Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a crisis in many sectors globally, including the education sector. Since the disease hit the world, efforts have been made to seek alternative lifestyles. It forced the education sector to move away from face-to-face learning, and both teachers and students switched to online learning. Since then, the disease has had impacts like sociological where people cannot come up and learn together, psychological in that people have been stressed up with deaths of their people, and much more on distance learning in adolescents (Ali, 2020). In this case, it is the ninth-grade students of the American High School Academy. The disease has created unprecedented pressure on Miami Dade. On April 6, 2021, the number of reported death cases was 19, and 1,516 new cases were reported. This shows that the infection rate is still very high, despite the slight decrease in the number of infected. The COVID-19 rules being followed in Miami include getting vaccinated, wearing masks to maintain social distance, and disinfecting rooms and objects. The referred center has about 250 students, and their teachers take attendance to classes online, and classes are attended online.
1.1-Research problem / Definition
Coronavirus is a disease caused by the COVID-19 virus classified as a pandemic at present, which has changed the dynamics of the world in general. The first case was discovered in the city of Wuhan in China in December 2019, and since then, the disease has spread around the world, claiming thousands of lives. COVID-19 has impacted the biological, psychological, and social point of view in the ninth-grade students of the American High School Academy located in Miami Dade County in southern Florida, starting with implementing the modality of Distance Education to replace face-to-face learning program. Students cannot adopt new rules and regulations due to limited financial resources (Ballivian et al., 2020). Students cannot continue with distance education due to limited financial resources.

Nursing students in selected Nursing College at Chennai. The objectives of the was to assess the impact on mental health during the COVID 19 pandemic among B.Sc. Nursing students and to associate the impact on mental health during the COVID 19 pandemic among B.Sc. Nursing students with their demographic variable. With the view Descriptive study was conducted among 232, 60 B.Sc. nursing students who fulfilled the inclusion criteria was selected as sample. The study participants were selected using simple random sampling technique. The analysis revealed that the frequency distribution of impact of mental health during COVID 19 shows that Among the 60 B.Sc. Nursing students, majority of the students 78.3 shows moderate level of mental health impact and some of them were mild impact 15.0 and few of them 6.7 were high level of mental health impact during pandemic period. The mean and standard deviation of mental health variables of participants N=60 reveals that the highest mean 3.42± 0.996 was missed for their friends, followed by 3.03±1.104 felt lack of clinical knowledge 3.08±1.124 was for worried about exams. It shows that the students had moderate impact on mental health during COVID 19. ABSTRACT : This study aimed to determine the academic stress in relation to academic performance of high
school students in the new normal education. The researcher utilized the descriptive research design
withquestionnaire as the instrument in gathering data from the 392 students who were randomly selected.
Statistical analysis shows that the assessment on academic stress was ―Moderately Stressful‖ and on
well-being was ―Sometimes‖. The academic performance the students was rated ―Very Satisfactory‖. There is
significant difference on sex towards academic undertaking and parental pressure while significant on age
towards academic undertaking. There is significant difference according to learning modality on emotional,
social, intellectual and spiritual well-being; significant on sex towards physical well-being and grade level
towards intellectual well-being. There is negligible correlation between the level of academic stress and
academic performance and positive slight correlation between the well-being and academic performance.
It is recommended thatparents are encouraged not to force children to have good academic
performance. Need to assessed and understand the intellectual ability of the children. Students are encouraged to
participate in activities promoting health, social, and spiritual wellness and further study be conducted on the

The mission of the College Student Mental Health program is to assist, train, and give services to college students who are dealing with psychological health issues. This can be done by offering a secure space for individuals coping with mental wellness issues as college students and their psychological illnesses needs to express their concerns and get help. Mental health difficulties can affect a student’s way of learning and the success rate of passing a class. The Student Mental Health program aims to connect students with services that will assist students in leading higher productive lives. We operate as the college's central hub for psychological health, providing mental health counseling as well as well teaching and programming to learners. Our products are sensitive to cultural differences, cutting-edge, and research-based.
Objective
· Creating a well-being environment at college by concentrating on mental health assistance, health promotion, and well-being activities and programs is the objective.

Perceived Competence and Transition Experience of New Graduate NursesRyan Michael Oducado
Recruitment and hiring of new graduate nurses is seen as a potential strategy to mitigate the problem of nurse shortage. However, previous studies disclosed that new graduate nurses are inadequately prepared to enter practice and experience transition difficulties. This study aimed to determine the perceived competence and transition experience of new graduate Filipino nurses. Seventy-nine conveniently chosen new graduate nurses were surveyed in this descriptive cross-sectional research. Self-administered instruments were used to gather data. Descriptive statistics, Mann–Whitney U test, and Kruskal–Wallis test were the statistical tools employed. Results indicated that new graduate nurses had a high level of self-reported fundamental nursing skills (M= 7.99) and core competence (M= 8.16), although areas needing improvement were identified. There were no significant differences in the perceived competence based on the length of experience, year graduated, area of assignment, sex, type of school graduated, CPD participation, and hospital bed capacity (p> .05). The major difficulty experienced by new graduates during their transition was related to changes in role expectations (72.2%). Majority expressed the need for increased support during their transition (83.5%). The most satisfying aspects of their working environment were ongoing learning (81%) and peer support (74.7%), while the least satisfying was the negative nursing work environment (55.7%). New graduate nurses are equipped with the necessary nursing skills and core competencies. However, there are still gaps and areas needing improvement that should be addressed and supported to assist them in their transition to the world of professional nursing practice. Follow up, feedback, mentoring, and preceptorship are beneficial to enhance the competencies of new graduate nurses and facilitate their successful transition into the nursing workforce.
Stress, Satisfaction, and Academic Performance in Online Learning among Sopho...Ryan Michael Oducado
This descriptive-correlational determined the undergraduate nursing students’ stress, satisfaction, and academic performance in online learning during COVID-19 pandemic. The research participants were the 108 second-year undergraduate nursing students from one nursing school in the Philippines. The data were collected using a web-based survey questionnaire and then analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rho correlation. The results revealed that the undergraduate nursing students considered having online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak to be stressful (44.4%) and very stressful (47.2%). Moreover, the undergraduate nursing students had low satisfaction (37%) and moderate satisfaction (46.3%) having the online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak. The undergraduate nursing students’ academic performance were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulted in poor (37%) to fair (50%) academic performance and were considerably (43.6%) and greatly (30.6%) affected by the pandemic. Online learning stress had a significant and inverse correlation with online learning satisfaction (rs=-.370, p=.000) and academic performance (rs=-.240, p=.012). Stress negatively impacts the undergraduate nursing students’ satisfaction and academic performance. This research suggests that certain measures should be performed to reduce stress and improve the online teaching–learning processes during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The unexpected occurrence of the COVID-19 outbreak has undeniably disrupted the normalcy of life. Stress has become an important concern in education since the COVID-19 outbreak. This descriptive-correlational online survey administered in August 2020 utilized the COVID-19 Perceived Stress Scale (COVID-19 PSS-10) to assess the COVID-19 perceived stress among employed Filipino teachers. Whitney U and Kruskal–Wallis tested for differences while Spearman’s rho was used to analyze correlation between variables. Results demonstrated that more than half of teachers experienced moderate COVID-19 stress. Females experienced significantly higher COVID-19 stress compared to males. A negative correlation was noted between self-rated health and COVID-19 stress while a positive correlation was found between perceive risk of getting COVID-19 infection and COVID-19 stress. This study highlights that steps must be undertaken to help teachers deal with the stress of the COVID-19 crisis as well as they must be provided or taught with stress management interventions during this pandemic. This study could be used as a baseline for future research to assess the impact of COVID-19 stress among professional teachers.

As future professionals, nursing students are expected to exhibit online professionalism and to be responsible users of social media. However, the rapid sharing of information on social media exposes nursing students to the risk and danger of spreading unprofessional behaviors. This study aimed to determine the nursing students’ attitude toward responsible use of social media. A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized among nursing students (N=298) in a College of Nursing in Iloilo City, Philippines. The Responsible Use of Social Media Attitude Scale (RUSMAS) was used to collect the data and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results revealed that while majority of nursing students had positive attitude, there were still a few who were ambivalent toward responsible use of social media. A significant difference was found in the attitude of nursing students when grouped according to year level. Academic nursing institutions should continually educate students on responsible use of social media and develop approaches promoting social media literacy in nursing education.

The Gen Z has started to enter the portals of nursing classrooms. They are technology and socially-savvy consumers who grew up in the world of internet and smartphones. Yet, little is known about this generation particularly among Gen Z nursing students and how they use Facebook for academic purposes. This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted to determine nursing students’ usage, perception, satisfaction and difficulties with Facebook for educational purposes. A total of 113 second year students in a Nursing College in the Philippines participated in the survey. Data were collected using an adopted questionnaire administered via online survey. Descriptive and inferential statistical tools were used to analyze the data. Results indicated that majority of nursing students moderately use Facebook for educational purposes to communicate, collaborate, and share academic or learning materials. They generally had a good perception of and were highly satisfied with using Facebook for educational purposes. The main challenge reported by four out five nursing students in the use of Facebook as an educational platform was distraction from other Facebook contents. There was a significant positive relationship between usage and perception in the use of Facebook for educational purposes. While Facebook showcases promising potential as a positive disruptive innovation for learning, challenges associated with its use in education must be properly addressed. Careful consideration and thoughtful planning when integrating Facebook in nursing education are necessary for nursing schools to maximize the benefits of Facebook as a supplemental educational tool.

Abstract: Millennial nurses are beginning to accept leadership roles and soon will take over the healthcare industry because nurse administrators who belong to the Baby boomer generation will soon retire and leave the workforce. However, the perspectives on leadership and practice environment of millennial nurse administrators were not well-explored and investigated. Eight (8) millennial nurse administrators of tertiary hospitals in Iloilo City were purposively chosen. Through a qualitative descriptive inquiry, data were gathered using a semi-structure interview. Qualitative content analysis was employed in analyzing the transcripts of the study participants revealing meaningful patterns of categories as to their perspectives on leadership and their work environment, feelings and challenges. Millennial nurse administrators perceive leadership by way of directing, guiding, empowering and modeling to staff. They viewed their practice environment as having harmonious relationship while maintaining professional relationship among the healthcare team members, upholding standards and ensuring client satisfaction as a measure of quality care. Millennial nurse administrators shared feelings of being overwhelmed at the start yet fulfilling in the end. Lastly, they had challenges in dealing with older staff and in assuming the full responsibility and accountability of their unit. Considering the complexities in the healthcare profession, millennial nurse administrators cope with the responsibilities brought by their position as the major key players to ensure that the operations of the unit abides with the standards of practice. Underscoring the importance of staff relations without depriving the quality of nursing care services, millennial nurse administrators must be provided with understanding and support to enhance their leadership skills as they advance into higher leadership positions.

2. Introduction
• The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has exponentially
spread across the globe in a matter of months and has infected and
killed millions of people across the world (Ferreira et al., 2020).
• With the great number of cases of infection and high rate of
mortality, the COVID-19 outbreak may have a serious impact on
people’s psychological health (Paredes Escobar et al., 2020).
3. Introduction
• Identifying protective factors that can prevent psychological problems
when confronted with difficulties and understanding the role of an
individual’s psychological strength, flexibility to adapt to new
situations, ability to bounce back or resilience may be necessary
(Yıldırım & Solmaz, 2020; Yıldırım & Arslan, 2020; Ferreira et al.,
2020).
• While there is growing research on the psychological impact of the
COVID-19 pandemic among undergraduate students (e.g. Aslan et al.,
2020; Islam et al., 2020; Rodríguez-Hidalgo et al., 2020; Rogowska et
al., 2020; Son et al., 2020), not much is written and published among
Graduate students.
4. Introduction
• A review of extant studies in higher education has underscored the
important role of resilience in helping students to finish their studies,
overcome obstacles, and manage their wellbeing (Brewer et al.,
2019).
• However, the unprecedented challenges and adversity carried by the
global COVID‐19 crisis can certainly be a threat to the resilience of
Filipinos (Callueng et al., 2020) and the role of resilience in the
context of a pandemic among Graduate students has not been well
investigated.

11. Discussion
• Filipino Graduate students experienced moderate to high stress and fear
as indicated by their above the midpoint composite scores. This may
reflect the challenge to maintain positive mental health in times of crisis
(Arslan et al., 2020).
• The findings of this current study affirm the result of prior research
conducted elsewhere indicating that the COVID-19 pandemic has
resulted in some indicators of emotional distress, negative mental health
and adverse psychological consequences (Zhou et al., 2020; Son et al.,
2020; Islam et al., 2020; Rodríguez-Hidalgo et al., 2020; Rogowska et al.,
2020; Aslan et al., 2020; Petzold et al., 2020; Mertens et al., 2020).
• In the Philippines, the COVID-19 also resulted in students reporting
moderate to severe psychological impact of the pandemic (Tee et al.,
2020).
12. Discussion
• Resilience had a significant but negative relationship with stress and fear.
Higher resilience is associated with lower stress and fear related to
COVID-19. In other words, students or individuals with increased ability
to bounce back quickly in difficult times have a better ability to respond
to stress and adversity.
• The result of this present study is similar to prior studies reporting the
pivotal role of resilience in protecting against stress, anxiety, fear, and
other negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors (Yıldırım & Solmaz,
2020; Ferreira et al., 2020; Zhang et al., 2020; Yıldırım et al., 2020;
Mosheva et al., 2020; Paredes Escobar et al., 2020).
13. Limitations
• This study only involve Graduate students in one school in the
Philippines.
• The cross-sectional research design cannot infer causality and track
temporal changes over time.
• The use online survey questionnaire lends itself to self-report bias.
14. Conclusion
• The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a modest to profound mental and
emotional toll on Graduate students.
• Personal resilience is a significant factor influencing stress and fear
concerning COVID-19. This study highlighted the buffering and protective
role of resilience against negative mental states during a pandemic.
• Resilience is an important psychological resource that plays a significant
role in reducing undesirable mental health outcomes such as COVID-19
stress and fear and makes students less susceptible to the mental health
impact of the pandemic.
15. Recommendation
• The anxiety and fears of students during the pandemic should be
acknowledged and not be ignored.
• Institutions of higher learning may need to spark a growing interest and
be proactive in developing interventions and strategies that promote
resilience likewise determine factors contributing to emotional distress,
mental well-being and psychological health of people during the
pandemic.
• This study served as a basis for the development of a mental health
webinar focused on resilience among Graduate students.
