Abstract
In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different
environments to asses which fruit would have the most mold and in which
environment the mold would be present the most. For the experiment we used fruits
that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non organic fruit.
Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that
peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot
the most in our warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed
over a period of weeks. At the end of this period of time the peaches had rotted the
most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were the first to go.

through ideas, beliefs, practices and values, they do this by using the term
meaning over measurement. Qualitive researchers try to understand society by
analysing feeling and words rather than numbers and data. However unlike
Quantitive researchers they use the scientific approach and believe that the world
can be proved using number and percentages. I have chosen to use Qualitive
research because I think it is a better way of understanding the world because I
think it is the most appropriate way of knowing what people s experiences and

17 March 2015 Rudi Volti s Cars and Culture: The Life Story of a Technology
(Greenwood Press, 2004) examines the evolution of the automobile, starting from
1765, with Nicholas Cugnot s steam powered vehicles, to the present day. The goal of
the book, as stated by Volti in the introduction, is to pay particular attention to the
automobile s technical evolution while at the same time delineating the cultural,

also demonstrates the cultural and societal effects that resulted from the emergence

In the late 1800s to the early 1900s segregation was one of the biggest issues in the
court of law. After slavery was finally abolished African Americans were able to
have more freedom, but they were still treated different than any other race. The Jim
Crow laws are an example of the law that affected everyday life in the African
Americancommunity in the beginning of the 1890s. This law segregated schools,
parks, libraries, drinking fountains, restrooms, buses, trains, and restaurants. The
struggle to achieve equality was made even more difficult by the legislation of
racism in the Plessy v Ferguson case. The Plessy v Ferguson case was a U.S.
Supreme Case in 1896 that upheld the constitution of segregation. This case started
when Homer Plessy refused to sit in a Jim Crow Car therefore breaking a law in
Louisiana in the year 1892. He had bought a first class ticket and then took his seat in
a white only car. Homer Plessy was arrested and imprisoned immediately. In the court
Plessy argued that his Constitutional rights were violated, and he filed a petition
against John H. Ferguson. Plessy argued that the segregation law violated the Equal
Protection Clause of the Fourteenth and Thirteenth amendment. The Fourteenth
Amendment keeps states from denying equal protection of the laws to every person

African Americans drastically started to change. During this era after women
showed bravery by helping out in the war they were looked at in a different

being only housewives into becoming undercover soldiers and going off to battle all
to gain independence for them. However I think it favored more for the white

John Brown was an American abolitionist who believed armed insurrection was the
only way to overthrow the institution of slavery in the US. Due to to the violence he
used to erase slavery he was considered a murderer/terrorist, however some believed

Brown helped fight against slavery, because he believed in equal rights, but he

In Edgar Allan Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum, there were setting and some
symbols. The theme would be that it is impossible to stop time and as the final
outcome of life would be death. To support this in the story, there are two main
symbols throughout which are the pit which symbolizes hell or death, and the
pendulum is another symbol that represent time. The setting sets up the story line
