4. John Milton Demand The Freedom Of The Press
In Areopagitica John Milton demand the freedom of the press, actually the freedom
of the author. He made the following demand: Give me the liberty to know, to utter,
and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties. This issue was
personal for Milton, as he had suffered censorship himself in his efforts to publish
several tracts defending divorce. Areopagiticais full of divine and classical references
which Milton uses to strengthen his argument. This is particularly fitting because it
was being addressed to the Calvinist Presbyterians who comprised Parliament at that
time. The Areopagitica was an attack directed against the Licensing Order Act of

He resisted this incorporates even the awful or blasphemous books, since we can

Milton s point is that God supplied each individual with the reason, through and
through freedom, and inner voice to judge thoughts for themselves, so the thoughts in
a content ought to be dismissed by the author s own decision, not by a permitting
expert. Additionally, the soul is not defiled just by experiencing deception. Milton
brings up that experiencing deception can really prompt righteous activity, for
example, how St. Paul s believers had secretly and intentionally consumed Ephesian
books thought to be magick . Milton at that point contends that Parliament s
authorizing request will flop in its motivation to smother shameful, dissident, and
derogatory books: this request of permitting conduces nothing to the end for which
it was fram d . The request was intended to redress conduct by keeping the spread of
a disease caused by terrible books. Milton objects, contending that the authorizing
request is excessively clearing, on the grounds that even the Bible itself had been
verifiably restricted to perusers for containing hostile portrayals of disrespect and evil
men. Milton additionally calls attention to that Parliament won t shield the oblivious
from terrible books by this Order, on the

The Untold Story of Plymouth Plantation The Puritan s voyage to the New World in
1620 is one of the most well known pilgrimages throughout history. However, there
are two different accounts of the events to be discussed: one by William Bradford
himself and another in the form of a documentary. Bradford was one of the 102
people to voyage across the Atlantic in order to start the Plymouth colonyin Cape
Cod. He would later become a very influential leader. His version of the events,
entitled Of Plymouth Plantation, is his first hand account of his voyage and the
settlement of Plymouth. Bradford wrote his chronicle in plain style, a type of
writing that is simplistic and very straightforward. History Channel s A Desperate

It gives the history of the local native tribes, which greatly impacted the Pilgrim s
survival in the New World. It also goes into detail on the people who died,
mentioning those who Bradford chose to skip over, such as the ship hand that was
the first of them to die on the voyage over. Bradford says the following of his death,
But it pleased God before they came half seas over, to smite this young man with a
grievous disease, of which he died in a desperate manner, and so was himself the
first that was thrown overboard. (Bradford 6). Here, he is stating that God chose
for him to die because he cursed at passengers and was overall an unholy person
who, in Bradford s mind, deserved to die. In modern times, we know that all of the
settlers who died met their ends from diseases and hypothermia during the truly
horrible winter from 1609 10 or, like the ship hand, died from disease. But aside
from mentioning scurvy and the harsh winter, Bradford cites only God as the source

7. guys vs suvs Essay
Professor Truong
English 1A

SUV VS GUYS
As the years have gone on we have seen many changes in the differences and roles
of gender. Little have we thought of seeing cars taking a role of gender, in this
case an SUV. SUVs have taken the role of a male with a feminine touch. Dave
Barry s Guys vs. Men is a funny, interesting and in fact true effort at explaining who
guys really are, and why they are that way.
Reptile Dreams focuses more on characteristics of an SUV that reflect the
characteristics of men. Both authors produced a strategically strong essay in
reference to their point of view with their own personal touch using a topic that they
know most about.
Dave Barry, the author of Guys vs. Men projects ... Show more content on

My theory is the reptilian always wins, he said, If there s a crash, I want the other guy
to die. Of course, I can t say that aloud. Hence, the rationale for owning an SUV, and
willingness to put others at risk rather than themselves in a crash situation. Again,
questioning the rules of moral behavior. For Rapaille, the archetype of a sport utility
vehicle reflects the reptilian desire for survival. People buy SUVs, he tells auto
executives, because they are trying to look as menacing as possible to allay their
fears of crime and other violence. The Jeep has always had this image around the
world because of it its heavy use in war movies and frequent appearances in
newsreels from the 1940 s and 1950 s, and newer SUVs share the image.
Guy vs Men strategy for showing a certain guy characteristic, like wanting neat stuff
such as mechanical and unnecessarily complex For example the result of guys
having the need to have stuff such as star wars, nuclear weapons, and such items
that are in the extends of that genre. as to differentiate with the characteristics of a
women, he used the example of a women and her living room design arrangement.
Whereas a women find the need to rearrange the original position of their furniture
and would cheerfully use the same computer for years, oppose to guys, they do not
have a basic need to rearrange furniture nor keep a computer that is outdated. Dave
8. Sociological Perspectives On Family Sociology
Family is a significant concept within the society and based on its significance
various sociological perspectives have devoted their studies in order to examine
family. Each of these perspectives has differing view of the nature and role of the
family in society. Therefore, in this essay, it is my intention to compare the range of
sociological perspectives of the familyincluding functionalism, Marxist and feminist.
I will also evaluate the conjugal relationships and its development by considering the
factors that have caused these developments.
According to functionalism, each aspect of the society education system, economy
and family is inter related and works together in order to the maintenance of
stability of society as a whole. (Webb et al, 2008). This has been more clarified by...

Regardless of the family, functionalists see the family as a vital organ in maintaining
the body of society, just as the heart is an important organ in maintaining human
body. (Browne, 2013, p.121). The Functionalists suggest that family performs many
functions for the society. The functionalist theorist George Murdock (1949) found
from his study, the nuclear family was a universal social institution and it existed
universally as it fulfils four basic functions for society. These functions are identified
as the sexual, reproductive, economic and educational. (Earlhamsociologypages). The
first function is known as sexual refers that within the family there is a stable
satisfaction of the sex drive with the same partner. This means that the regulation of
sexual activity prevent the society from social disruptions and provide stability. The
reproductive is the second function of family is related to producing next generation
for society, it is apparent that society without children cannot survive. Next,
functionalists see family as an economic unit as it provides its members the economic
needs such as food and
9. The Stereotypes Of Misogyny
In order to understand the broad topic of misogyny, it must first be recognized. The
oppression of women in society can be found in many aspects of daily life, current
events, and in human history. Specifically, this misogyny is largely observed from
the way in which the female narrative is suppressed. In How to Date a Brown Girl
(Black Girl, White Girl, or Halfie) by Junot Diaz, the femalevoice is silenced, leaving
room for stereotypes to emerge and sexist and racist undertones to run throughout the
text. As the protagonist, Yunior, gives the readers instructions for how to date
different women largely on the basis of their race, financial stability, or
neighborhood, it becomes clear that he has firm opinions on these women; but does...

Yunior s narrow mindset also silences the female voice by delegitimizing the woman
s history or credibility. An example of this is when Yunior explains women s
predictability. A halfie will tell you that her parents met in the Movement, will say,
Back when people thought it was a radical thing to do (Diaz 2) According to
Yunior, all girls who are halfies have the same family history with the same
intrinsic details to top their stories. His commentary reveals how uninterested he
truly is in what the girl has to say by giving her a false sense of adequacy.
Moreover, he starts disregarding her originality while purposely concealing his
imminent lack of sympathy. This disrespect to the female s background and Yunior
s dismissive feelings surrounding it silence the girl s voice by not allowing her to
take pride in her background. Yunior is explicit in his doubt surrounding his date s
credibility and originality. As a result, his doubts lead him to believe that the girl s
family history wasn t truly radical or difficult. Dismissing her family s struggles
(whether they are common or not) silences the female s voice by doubting her
credibility.
Whether used appraisingly or negatively, the power of language can shape how
social groups stand in society. Moreover, derogatory language against women is a
commonly used way of demeaning their value. The first example comes on the first
page, as
10. Emotions In Kate Chopin s The Story Of An Hour
People s attitudes and emotions are far more diverse and intricate than what we
think. Every individual is prone to feel different emotions such as sadness,
happiness, and even a mixture of both, as we are all unique in our own way.
Because of these complicated emotions, we end up responding to these feelings
negatively, which lead us into complicated positions in the long run. In the short
story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, we conflict with a similar type of
situation where the main character, Louise Mallard, ironically, in a timespan of an
hour, undergoes several stages of mixed emotions after hearing the news of her
husband s death. The three key emotions expressed through Ms. Mallard s character
is grief, impending doom, and then an unexpected exhilaration, leading up to her
unfortunate fatality due to an unexplained, monstrous joy. To start off with, Ms.
Mallard deals with the first feelingof grief, when she is told by her sister Josephine,
that her husband s name has been the name that led the list of... Show more content on

13. The Arizona Department Of Corrections Rating System
For this assignment I will referencing the Arizona Department of Corrections rating
system, and touching on the current evaluation process and discussing options to
improve on the process. I work in the department of corrections and the evaluation
system currently implemented is the managing, accountability, and performance
(MAP). This system is far from perfect, and very susceptible to subjective
evaluations. Most employees do not agree with the evaluations they receive and
for the most part this is due to the supervisors not putting in the required effort to
properly evaluate each employee. It is not uncommon for a supervisor to rate all of
their subordinates exactly the same, regardless if one employee excels and the other
shows little to no interest. Supervisors often justify their vanilla evaluations by
stating that the evaluations do not have any effect on your employment, since pay
raises are not based from the appraisal. As you can imagine this method does little
to raise the moral of the motivated hard working staff, and in my opinion needs to be
revamped. I would prefer an evaluation based more on objective performance and
behavioral observations. An objective performance rating is based on the measuring
of actual results from employees. Although the Department of Corrections does not
produce a product, or make sales that can be tracked, they are responsible for
maintaining a safe and secure environment to protect the public, fellow staff, and the
inmates. These

15. Analysis Of Dan Brown s Angels And Demons
The book I choose for this marking period was Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.
Dan Brown s father was a math teacher and his mother was a church organist. This
background paved the path where he developed a fascination with science and
religion. These are themes seen in all of his books, especially this one, where he
uses the idea that science and religion are intertwined. I felt that this story, driven
by the theme of science and religion being the same thing, was a refreshing story
that stood out from what I have read recently. It gave me the opportunity to think
about the question he poses from the beginning, Is religion, specifically
Christianity, the same as science, just from a different perspective? Being
Christian myself, it made me question several of my ideas and opinions and forced
me to become opened minded to the ideas that Brown gives. After reading this
book, I felt as if I understood why the church has been so against science, and it
reinforced my opinion and whether or not that was the right stance to have. This
book reminds us to think open mindedly about the connection between the church
and science, and to never allow ourselves to be so stubborn in our beliefs to realize
the good that can come of either. I also believe that even if a person has no stance on
science and religion, or is indifferent to it, it will still teach them new perspectives to
think about.
The story involves Robert Langdon, a professor of religious iconology and symbology

Visual communication is the interaction of meanings and thoughts through visual
stimuli. Usually in 2D visual communication covers a wide range of genres including
art, ideograms, typography, photography, illustration, graphic design and many others.
In this essay I will try to evidence the natural evolution of readability and legibility in
visual communication and how it s progression reached its pinnacle before the
beginning of post modernism. I will look as far back as the first known instances of
visual communication, the cave paintings, and target key elements to the evolution
and progression of visual communication including ideograms, the alphabet, scribes,
the printing press, slave ship diagrams, the Renaissance, Leonardo Da Vinci and the
Avantgarde, before concentrating on the change from Modernism to post
modernism. In my essay readability refers to the ease in which we can read the piece
and legibility discuses the message it is trying to convey.
It is my View that Visual communication, for the most part; naturally progressed over
time due to the influence of previous developments. I believe that this reached its
pinnacle during modernism and experienced a drastic change during post modernism.
The main theory that i will be trying to evidence is the natural progression and
evolution of readability and legibility in visual communication until the beginning of
post modernism
The earliest known form of visual communication is Indonesian cave paintings dated

17. Relationship Between Tradition And Scripture
Tradition and Scripture One cannot talk about tradition without acknowledging the
fact that the definition of tradition within the Church is continuously changing. At
first, the Apostles were the tradition. Tradition meant the Apostle s Christological
preaching and interpretation of scripture. A few centuries of later, the Church had to
distinguish itself and set boundaries to what would be considered traditional, and in
line with the teachings and interpretations of the Apostles. The Nicene Creed for
example, is a kanon, literally meaning a measuring stick, that determines what is
within the boundaries of this tradition, and what is considered to be outside of it.
This rule of faith, is composed of scriptural verses that form the foundation of the
Christian Faith. This clearly explains the relationship between tradition and scripture.
Tradition is within scripture, and defined by scripture, but scripture is also read
through the scope that the tradition provides. Going back to the definition of
tradition, centuries later and specially today in the 21st century, tradition is no longer
defined by just the Apostolic interpretation and the rule of faith. Today tradition
includes, but is not limited to, conciliar statements, writings of church fathers, liturgy,
iconography, and iconography. Some would argue that it is limited to that, and some
even say that I provided a very broad definition of tradition. However, looking at the
progression of tradition we can see that it

Actually, they try to describe news humorously. This episode named End times was
broadcast on June 10, 2009. For me, this show was highly effective because of the
theme selection. After watching this show, I realiazed even though we live in the age
of technology where we can find everything on internet, some people still live in an
old age. For example, people are still reading the newspaperin print, although now
you can read it online. The newspaper is quite an obsolete thing and I wonder why
people still pay for old mention of reading the news. For example, a correspondent
of The Daily Show, Jason Jones, asked a trick questions to the editor asking him to

21. How To Improve Fico Score
I went to CreditKarma.com and viewed my FICO scores. Transunion score was
497, Equifax score was 502, and no score was reported by Experian. The FICO scores
were not as high as I had hoped. A few years ago I had a thin file showing for my
credit scores. Now that I have established credit line, it is within the very poor
range of the FICO Score ratings. Due to collection files for various services such as
mobile phone accounts and hospital visits my scores have lowered due to bad credit
choices. My student loan has raised my ratings somewhat due to the fact that I have
made payments towards lowering the financial debtof the student loan.
Three ways I can help improve my FICO score is to check my credit periodically,
set up payment reminders for payments, and reduce the amount of debt I owe.
According to many credit bureaus and experts, checking your credit periodically is
always the right approach to turning your credit around. By checking your scores
you can determine if there are any errors on your reports and take the right course of
action to dispute those errors. You may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way to improve your score is to set up payment reminders. Pay your bills on
time whether or not you feel you have a grace period, because delinquent payments
no matter how late has huge negative impact have on scores. Missed payments
need to be made current and remain current, paying off a collection does not
remove it from your report since they remain on said report for seven years, and if
you have trouble managing your money to make ends meet seek help from a credit
professional, and contact your creditors to make arrangements. These steps won t
miraculously rebuild your credit score but will increase it in good standing over a
period of time. Amounts you owe go hand and hand with payment history so let s
move forward to tips to help you on your
22. Analysis Of Frederick Jackson s Turner Frontier Thesis
After the Civil War, America experienced a vast change with the influx of foreigners.
Many believed that America was filled with multiple opportunities that could
transform their lives. However, due to mass immigration many were forced to face
injustices, overcrowding, as well as questioning their identity. Riis and Turner were
both concerned with the influx of immigrants and how the increase of people affected
the American land. In Frederick Jackson s Turner frontierthesis, he describes how
important the frontier is to the development of America and how it allowed many to
obtain a new life. He describes how Americans have managed to transform the
wilderness little by little and making this new land their home, Little by little he
transforms the wilderness, but the outcome is not the old Europe, not simply the
development of Germanic germs...The fact is that here is a new product that is
American . The frontier thesis is also used to describe the individuality of America
and prove that it is an independent country that no longer has ties with other nations
as well as making it clear that America is unique in its own way. Westward expansion
offered many the opportunity to re identify themselves and create a nation that
offered a new form of American life.
The Frontier thesis emphasizes that Americans are now free from European powers
by stating that, In another way the advance of the frontier decreased our dependence
on England . Americans were now using their skills and

In the book Seedfolks, a character named Kim enters a vacant lot in her town,
Cleveland, Ohio, to plant Lima Beans to honor her father, who passed away before
Kim was even born. While Kim is in the process of planting her beans and watering
them daily, people around the vacant lot being to notice her actions . Many people
followed what Kim was doing and made their own little garden, which causes the
community of Cleveland to be together and to communicate with one another.
Throughout the book many characters come and go in the garden, and each
character shares something in common with someone else. The garden brings
people together, and helps them communicate with one another, without the garden,
some people might never have communicated with someone that has a different
appearance as them. The novel Seedfolks shows us, that the garden changed
everyone s perspectives on people in their community and how they judge them by
appearance. It shows how you can give someone chances, before you can judge
them. Some people that show this theme, are Kim, Ana, Sae Young, Maricela,
Sam, and Curtis. Kim is the one who started the garden, and her father died before
she was even born. Kim says I started at my father s photograph his thin face stern,
lips latched tight, his eyes permanently peering to the right. I was nine and still
hoped perhaps his eyes might move (pg.1).She explains how her father had died and
she didn t ever get to meet him, and she wishes she had some kind

Representation in both the media and in politics has always been important. So when
Andrew Jackson came along claiming to represent the interest of the common man,
society s interest peaked. Yet , did Jackson support the interest of the worker and

than any other president at that point in history. Jackson, who abused power. Jackson,

25. Problems with HMO s Essay
Problems with HMO s
Many employees must designate a health plan through their employer. These days, as
HMOs (health maintenance organizations) and managed care plans continue to
proliferate, that means a choice between bad and worse. As employees line up in the
lunch room for a process called open enrollment, they may be surprised to learn that
managed care rates have gone up again. The mirage that managed care is cheaper
care is finally fading. And, for the first time in years, employees may also have the
promise of free choice in medicine in the form of a new method of financing health
care. Consumers are already aware of horror stories involving HMOs, but cheap rates
persuaded many that managed care is less expensive. Recent ... Show more content on

In 1965, Congress created Medicare. Seniors were forced into the free for all of
Medicare, personal responsibility was replaced by paternalism, and, predictably,
unrestricted health care for older Americans lead to frenzy of spending by patients
and doctors. Those who had clamored for Medicare argued that, since the state
subsidizes seniors medical care, the state ought to pay for everyone s health care. In
an act of pragmatism, President Nixon proposed the HMO Act, which Congress
passed in 1973. The law gave millions of dollars to HMOs, which, until then, had
constituted a small portion of the market.
HMOs multiplied rapidly with the new federal giveaways. Managed care, now
including PPOs, mushroomed. Employers initially perceived managed care plans as
cheaper than traditional fee for service insurance. Gradually, they stopped offering a
choice of health plans, making individual policies more expensive. HMOs penetration
of the industry had been subsidized into existence. Government had instituted
managed care. Today, while overall quality of patient care remains the best in the
world, doctors practice medicine in an increasingly intricate web of rationing and
regulations: Physicians are stripped of professional autonomy. As patients wander the
maze of managed bureaucracy, costs rise and quality deteriorates. Every American
dependent on a third party for health coverage is a potential victim of managed care.
And state sponsored management of medicine

The Florida Museum of Natural History is a government sponsored museum that is
incorporated into the University of Florida in the city of Gainesville. The museum
was established by Frank Pickel, a professor of natural science at the Florida
Agricultural College in Lake City, and was dedicated to understanding, preserving,
and interpreting biological diversity and cultural heritage. The state of Florida
formally assumed ownership of the museum in 1917 and established it as part of the
state university system. The purpose of the museum is set by Florida State Statue
1004.56 and requires the museum to collect and maintain a depository of biological,
archaeological, and ethnographic specimens and materials in sufficient numbers and
quantities to provide within the state and region a base for research on the variety,
evolution, and conservation of wild species; the composition, distribution,
importance, and functioning of natural ecosystems; and the distribution of prehistoric
and historic archaeological sites and an understanding of the aboriginal and early
European cultures that occupied them. The major weaknesses of the museum are in
the absences of interactive educational displays, adjuncts for the states educational
system, and the inability to reach the vast majority of its target audience. The
collection policy and mission statements require the museum to provide statewide
access of sufficient biological specimens for education and research. The current
museum has
27. Analysis Of A Valediction Forbidding Mourning By John
Donne
John Donne and his songs and sonnets were 19 different poems and songs. The one
that stuck out and was enjoyable to me was A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning .
Donne wrote about a man that had to go away. During the time it was written,
Donne was supposed to be going to the Continent but there is no proof of it. It is
said that the poem is written for Donne s wife. It brings out the Romanticism of that
time and also the pain that comes with it. He finds a common marker between the
two and describes how nothing will be able to break them apart.
John Donne was known for being the one that started the use of metaphysical conceit.
A metaphysical conceit is when an analogy is used between one entity s spiritual
qualities and an object in the physical world and sometimes controls the whole
structure of the poem. Donne does this throughout the whole poem. He was called the
founder of the Metaphysical Poets . The
Metaphysical Poets are known for their ability to startle the reader and coax new
perspective through paradoxical images, subtle argument, inventive syntax, and
imagery from art, philosophy, and religion using an extended metaphor known
conceit (https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poet/john donne). Donne was a master of
thinking outside of the box and combining like things that you would never think to
even use to make a simile
Donne begins the poem with As virtuous men pass mildly away, And whisper to
their souls to go, Whilst some of their sad friends do say, The breath

ENTREPRENEURIAL DIFFICULTIES IN BANGLADESH
ABSTRACT
Bangladesh is a developing nation with a lot of constraints and difficulties for
entrepreneurs. One of the primary difficulties that entrepreneurs face is raising
capital. Finding out what types of difficulties entrepreneurs face in raising capital, and
how the government and private sector can help to eliminate them, is the subject of
this report. This report is an attempt to critically evaluate and review the current
problems of acquiring for entrepreneurs. The government itself has not shown ...

A venture firm could help facilitate that, it could act as an intermediary for both the
entrepreneur and the investors.
Another absence is that of private equity firms in Bangladesh. A private equity firm
an investment manager that makes investments in the private equity of operating
companies through a variety of loosely affiliated investment strategies including
leveraged buyout, venture capital, and growth capital. This firm only invests in
private firms by pooling resources in return for management fees and share in profits.
Then we do not have any angel investors, which may be hoping for too much in this
nation. Angel investors invest in a business in return for controlling ownership or
convertible loan, they usually keep themselves anonymous to the entrepreneur. They
are usually retired entrepreneurs or executives. Their purpose is never completely
monetary, they like to keep themselves occupied in the current business scene, or
guide new entrepreneurs or apply their experience in the new businesses. One may
put it in the Self Actualization part of Maslow s Hierarchy theory.
There are no government loan programs to support these entrepreneurial startups. If
any organization could afford to take on high risk ventures then it is the government.
But sadly the government takes no such initiative.
The Solutions
The first actor that needs to take actions is the government. It needs to make policies
and provide opportunities. One policy it can make is that it
29. Photovoltaic ( Pv ) Based Distributed Generators Essay
Abstract: Photovoltaic (PV) based distributed generators (DGs) are generally
controlled as current source to deliver only active power generated by PV source
to the grid. However, reactive power transfer capability of such DGs must be
utilized to satisfy reactive power demand of the load or to provide reactive power
support to the grid. Reactive power management for several such PV based DGs
operating in parallel is a challenging task as the available reactive power capacity of
each depends on the environmental conditions and may vary continuously. The
proposed algorithm considers the effect of environmental conditions on the active
power generated by the DGs and accordingly assigns reactive power references for
the inverters after computing the available capacity of the inverters. Hence,
irrespective of variation in active powers of the DGs, the proposed algorithm not only
helps to avoid the overloading of the inverters but also operates all inverters at same
apparent power rating to ensure equal utilization of the inverters. The algorithm is
evaluated in terms of its capability to obtain the best solution that gives the least
standard deviation of utilization factors of the inverters. Simulation results obtained
using MATLAB/Simulink are included to confirm its effectiveness over other
algorithms. 1.Introduction

however the employees and unions will not be pleased. Though the city does not

357). Factors that add to employee dissatisfaction include: company policy and
administration, supervision, salary, interpersonal relations, and working conditions
(Starling, 2011, p. 357).
According to this theory, simply eliminating job dissatisfiers is not enough, what
truly motivates employees more effectively are job satisfiers. In order to motivate
employees, managers should lessen the amount of dissatisfiers and increase the
amount of satisfiers (Starling, 2011). Luckily in this case, the privatization of health
benefits falls under the dissatisfiers of company policy and administration. Therefore,
even though the employees are upset with the decision to privatize, the human
resources director can still motivate employees by lessening the other dissatisfiers and
by focusing more on increasing the satisfiers for employees such as giving them more
recognition and responsibility. Following the idea of satisfaction in the workplace,
even though the city has the ability to implement whichever policy it prefers
regardless of the employees thoughts that does not imply that the city should take this
route. Employees are motivated when management includes them in the decision
making process. According to the human relations approach, workers are more
motivated and satisfied when there are positive relations between management and
workers (Starling, 2011). By simply imposing their will upon the employees

Acne skin care for some is easy, while others with severe acne breakouts struggle on
a regular basis to keep there pimples under control. Others fall somewhere in
between the two extremes, they suffer only from occasional outbreaks. No matter
which class you fall into, an acne outbreak is not enjoyable and finding the one way
to treat acne that works can be a complicated and exasperating process.
The crucial process of acne skin care is to keep pores from getting clogged,
unclogging infected pores, and attack the bacteria that causes the infection. Quality
make up can reduce the occasional redness associated with minor acne breakouts.
There are preventative measures that you can follow to reduce the chance of having
an acne breakout in the first place. Lightly washing your face with soap and water a

Exfoliates not only remove the dead skin cells from the surface, they are also offer
the benefits of antibacterial and anti inflammatory products. Both of these
ingredients can help to treat the existing acne and reduce the redness and swelling
that often accompanies a breakout. Another common ingredient is azelaic acid. One
ingredient used on the face is salicylic acid, if you choose to use salicylic acid you
need to apply it with caution. While this ingredient can help to prevent the pores from
clogging, it can be too irritating to sensitive facial skin.
People with severe acne will need to consult a dermatologist or physician for help
with their acne control. A dermatologist might suggest a cleansing regime, use lights
or lasers to treat and prevent future breakouts, they may also prescribe medication.
If prescribe medication, you should always ask about and be wary of the side

effects may only be discomforting, while others are permanent. Acne prescriptions
have even been linked with depression, with a few resulting in

Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome
Education is Key
Superior mesenteric artery syndrome is a rare disease that is caused by many
different factors, but the focus of this paper will be how compression from a body
cast or spinal injury causes superior mesenteric artery syndrome. The injuries
sustained can lead to a compressed area in the superior mesenteric artery and the
abdominal aorta, which in return will lead to an obstructed duodenum. Education is
key; if the symptoms are recognized early, then early interventions can prevent severe
complications. The safety concern with superior mesenteric artery syndrome is the
inability to absorb nutrients. This can become a life threatening condition if

Education needs to be directed to not only the patients and their families, but to HCP
as well. According to Dr. A.Run Pal Singh (2015), prevention and prompt treatment
of cast syndrome is key and knowledge of the nursing staff is essential in prevention.
Knowing the early signs and symptoms, as well as diagnostic tests, will not only
shorten the disease process, but allow for immediate treatment to prevent any further
complications. Patients compliance to treatment is the key to their health. This
assignment has taught us what superior mesenteric artery syndrome was, as well as
how to provide adequate education to the patients, families, and all HCP.

34. A Brief Note On Classical Conditioning And Fear
Classical Conditioning and Fear
Introduction
Fear is common in humans as well as in animals. Species that are thinking and
learning have been observed to respond to fear especially when they are subjected to
something that caused them pain and trauma, which will make them behave to
prevent the exact or related thing/event. Learning how fear accumulates and affects
an individual has taken the interests of many studies. There are research conducted to
examine how species react to pain and how they behave when they encounter the
stimulus again. In studying fear, Pavlovian fear conditioning has been an important
and well used model. It has been used in investigating rats in the laboratories and
how they behave on different stimuli and how they learn and remember each
encounter. In one of the research works done to investigate fear in rats, Maren
(2008) describes the Pavlovian fear conditioning in examining how the hippocampus
and amygdala have been behaving in transgenic mouse models. The essence of these
two parts of the brain, however, has not been proved in contexts and discrete use for
fear conditioning. The recent work has been considered as unclear whether if the
hippocampus and the amygdala play an important role in fear learning, specifically in
terms of anatomical segregation of cue and context conditioning. There are also other
non associative factors that affected the investigation and the results of the
performance of fear responses, thus, more research works are
35. Difference Between Instinct And Intuition
Responding to the smile of a baby, jumping up when startled by a sudden sound, or
even pulling your hand away from a hot fire are all examples of instinctive behaviour;
instinct does not involve thought but is an automatic, evolutionary response to
external stimuli. Instinctive judgements are more intuitive in nature but though
related, in terms of both not involving conscious thought, instinctand intuition are not
the same. Intuition is based on subconscious thought; a pattern recognized by the
brain based on, for instance, past experiences, whereas instinctive judgements appear
to be independent of experience or rational thought. As a student of psychology, I like
to make the distinction that instinct is a behavioural process while intuition is a
cognitive, but subconscious, process. The term judgement used in the above
TOKstatement implies taking an objective or considered decision based on instinct
alone rather than on conscious, rational thought. I believe the absence of conscious...

For instance, the cognitive scientist and psychologist, Steven Pinker , argues that all
thought is composed prior to its linguistic form. In his book, The Language Instinct,
he talks about how children learn language instinctively, without the need for
complex thought and analysis, and feels that ways of knowing, such as the use of
reason to understand grammar rules, actually slows down the process of language
learning. On the other hand, linguistic determinism states that knowledge is shaped
by language and is a cultural construct; people of different languages have different
thought processes. Demonstrating this latter view, a situation, albeit fictional, where
language limits instinctive judgements, can be seen in the success of Newspeak , the
state imposed language in George Orwell s 1984 , that prevented people from even
thinking critically of the

the 60s the type of media available were primarily newspapers and magazines and
television. People spent less time watching TV in the 60 s then people today,
therefore, that s why there is more exposure to commercials and ads in the 21st

June 1943 this is the date that the LA Zoot Suit Riots occurred and it s possibly
known as one of the biggest historical events that happened in Los Angeles. In short
The LA Zoot Suit Riots were 200 estimated of American Sailors beating up
anybody who wore a zoot suit, but they were mainly targeting Pachucos. Pachucos
were basically Chicanos who acted like street thugs, and when Chicanos and other
minorities had gotten beaten up by the sailors this has caused an uproar to Chicanos
mainly because it was discrimination towards them because of their color and style
of clothing. This event occurred because at the time Zoot Suits had become widely
popular with white people, but as time went on, other minorities started to like the
Zoot Suits also this has included Pachucos as it fits their clothing style. The outcome
of this event had influenced Latino Civil rights movement and Mexican American
Communities to fight for their rights and that is why the significance of this event
is minorities are being overlooked by whites of how they all seem street thugs and
criminals judging by their clothes and color even though not all minorities were like
that. A first primary example as to how chickens were overlooked during the LA
Zoot SuitRiots was how policemen turned a blind eye to the sailors. The
responsibility of a police officer is to help citizens no matter of their color and stop
the criminal s actions. Although in this case the policeman didn t help the citizens

39. The Effect Of Bee Disease On Growing Health Bee
Population...
The other problem is the impact of bee disease in growing health bee population.
Honey bee diseases and bees is a serious threat to growing healthy populations of
bees. Like the other animals, the application of intensive farming methods, global
movements and increase in bee diseases has done a lot to diminish the population of
bees. Bees are especially susceptible to the Varroa mite. This minute external parasite
that plagues honeybees was discovered in 1904. It attacks by attaching itself on the
bees, before sucking their blood. The after effect leaves the bees weaker and this
significantly reduces their population. Besides the bees, the other pollinators are also
facing many of the challenges the bees are facing. The only factor that makes the
bees stand out is the fact that bees are the most important pollinator for most crop
species around the world, especially those used by humans and animals.
Bee Keeping Guide
Beekeeping can be a side venture, a hobby or a profitable fulltime business
enterprise so long as you have a healthy stock of honey bees. Beekeeping is a
relatively inexpensive undertaking; however, to reap big in the venture there are a
couple of things you need to do as a bee keeper. First and foremost you must
recognize that you will be stung by the bee at some time. In worst case scenario a
big sting may cause brief period of discomfort and anaphylactic shock although this
is rare and happens only extreme cases. Common symptoms of a bee sting include
40. Korean Gender Roles In The Housemaid
Throughout the Korean history, the concept of gender roles has played a significant
part in the realm of a Confucianism culture. The traditional expectation of gender
roles in a Confucian system has always outrageously positioned the construction of
placing men before women. In terms of this inferior belief and attitude towards
Korean women in the society. Korean women were highly restricted in various
conditions. This research essay will argue that the concept of genderrole in Korea has
remained the same through the changes in society. This essay will explore the
insights of the original film, Hanyo (1960) and the remake version, The Housemaid
(2010). The essay will focus on discussing the similarities and differences with regard
to the strategies being presented through the ideological perspectives on gender.
Throughout the Korean history, the principle of gender roles is fundamentally
associated with the traditional Confucianism belief system. Historically, Korea
contributes a strong notion of gender inequality within the patriarchal society. The
social structure towards the concept of gender in Korea displays males to gain better
privileges than females (Lee, 2006). Within the past, Korean women were considered
as the most subordinated member in the family. The Confucian system obligates a
great influence towards Korean women to follow their traditional roles as a daughter,
wife, and mother (Gelb Palley, 1994). These traditional roles and cultural structures

Many researcher have blamed the migrants of the problems that faced the North

42. Karl Marx s Manifesto Of The Communist Party
Communism is defined, according to dictionary.com, as a theory or system of
social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual
ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state, and a
system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is
controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self perpetuating
political party. Schools across the globe are controlled by a single person, the
principal of the school, who gives all their students a fair and equal education. North
Carolina s public school system, run by the Board of Education, allows the students
no say in their education, how their school is run, or what rules are set in place.
However, students do get an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thomas Jefferson believed that the government was to be powerless to interfere with
religious expressions because he had long witnessed the unhealthy tendency of
government to encroach upon the free exercise of religion (wallbuilders.com). Both
communism and public schools are incompatible with the religious faith. The
Communist Party specifies a definite code of conduct for its members. A person
who does not follow the commandments of religion, but follows the directions of
the party, cannot call himself a religious person if he follows the directions of the
party. Likewise, a person who follows the religious faith, not the directions of the
party, cannot call himself a communist. Public school officials are not allowed to
give their students the impression that they prefer one religion over another, and
they are not allowed to start their days off with prayer. Even moments of silence
may be considered unconstitutional by some people as they may feel that the
purpose and effect of a moment of silence is plainly to advance religion

For my first drawing I had a two year old named Jaxon. His Drawing was a bunch of
scribbles. He did use multiple colors and did draw on different parts of the paper. Our
setting was at a co worker s house. The stage I would put Jaxon s drawing in would
be the scribble stage. His drawing would be perfect in the scribble stage because his
drawingwas a lot of random scribbling. The scribble stage is usually for children
ages1 ВЅ 2 years of age. Children can be given crayons or markers once they stop the
phase of putting everything in their mouths. Young children do not have much
control over hand movements or the marks on the page this is why lots of the
children will scribble with anything, and onto anything near them. A lot of the

Her drawing represented her and her daddy. Her father is in the army so she drew
both in uniform, saluting. She also included the sun, sky, grass and a flag on a flap
pole. The setting of this drawing was at a co worker s house. The stage I would put
Kaylee in would be the early pictorial stage. In the early pictorial stage children
work on making and perfecting one or many symbols. Symbol making are like
lopsided geometric shapes made. Mandalas and suns are drawn and eventually
becomes human figures. Therefore, I put Kaylee in this stage due to the fact that
she drew human figures. Also during this time some children can draw multiple
unrelated shapes and figures. This type of drawing is an example of a child
making multiple drawings of multiple symbols. At the early pictorial stage
children search for new ideas, and their symbols change constantly. A picture a
child draws of a lady could look like a different lady the next day. Most of the time a
great variety of form represent the same symbol. Drawings in this stage are flexible in

Introduction Maintaining an internet presence is an essential component of your
business operations. Regardless of what type of industry your business falls in,
you need a website so online visitors have a way of learning more about your
company and discovering the benefit that you can provide for them. Despite the
immense benefit that a website provides a company, many small businesses
continue to operate without a website. 1 1 Internet states that approximately 40
percent of small to medium businesses fail to have an online presence. You may
think that being active on social media makes up for not having an actual company
website. While social media activity is a way to interact with your target market
audience, it does not take the place of what a business website can do for you. A
business website does more than just provide a virtual presence for your company.
It gives you the opportunity to generate leads, optimize sales and increase traffic.
For all of this action to take place, you need to have a collection of tools in place
first. You can t just purchase a URL name, attach a website layout to it and wait for
the traffic to make its way to you. The Internet is an interactive place that requires
your participation in social media, blogging, sharing valuable content and engaging in
conversations taking place within your industry. A change in consumer buying
behavior is the driving force behind the need to be interactive online. Consumers now
want more from a

The remnants of the 1830 French revolution provided artists of its time material to
create paintings that depicted the despairs and inequalities of the lower social
class. Several artists became well known for their realistic portrayal of the
hardships and conflicts of their environment. Two artists known as Realists are
Gustave Courbet (1819 1877) and Jean Francois Millet (1814 1875). This paper will
discuss a particular piece painted by Jean Francois Millet called THE
GLEANERS. THE GLEANERS by Jean Francois Millet was completed in 1857.
The painting is an oil on canvas with the dimensions of 33 inches by 44 inches
which would have been unusually large for a painting of this type in that period
since large canvas works were usually reserved

48. Double Indemnity Summary
In Part II: The Private Investigator of The Longman Anthology of Detective Fiction
it says, The original world of the hard boiled detective was clearly a male one,
where women were suspect and dangerous. (as cited in Mansfield Kelley and
Marchino, 2005, p.207). In the cases of Double Indemnity, directed by Billy Wilder,
and The Gutting of Couffignal, wrote by Dashiell Hammett, this is exactly the case.
Both are, in the case of Double Indemnity based off of, hard boiled detective stories
in which the women are cunning, manipulative, and dangerous. The women are
strategically oriented, have little regard to others, and are selfish. They also blindly
rely on the feelings and actions of others. They re overconfident and proud of their

In Double Indemnity, Phyllis relied on Walter, the insurance company, and Keyes
(the investigator). She relied that Walter would actually carry out the murder, that he
wouldn t rat her out, and wouldn t get caught. She relied on the insurance company
to accept the insurance claim and not to pursue a detailed investigation. Indirectly,
she relied on Keyes to not figure out that she was involved or that a murder even
took place. In The Gutting of Couffignal, the princess relied on the investigator and
(not so blindly) her people. She had to trust that the investigator wouldn t figure out
her plan and would follow along with it as well. She had to trust that her people
would do as they were instructed. Both trusted fate as well. Regardless of their
methodical nature, their plans weren t as thoroughly planned as they thought; leaving

49. What Is The Meaning Of The Grauballe Man By Seamus
Heaney
The Grauballe Man, a literary composition from North by Seamus Heaney,
meticulously scrutinizes the iconic bog body on display and presents his response
towards the violence and chaos revealed in the piece of artifact. The level of detail
provided by the poet is very intricate, almost as if he is venerating the bog queen.
Throughout the poem, Heaney uses various literally devices to create vivid images,
as well as expressing his distinction between the dead and alive. He uniformly alters
the context of the poem through noun phrases and striking terminology. The notions
of a man s barbaric actions, expressed within the poem are then associated with the
contemporary events happening between the borders of Northern Ireland and the
South of England.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chin is a visor raised above the vent provides an image of a knight s visor and
is used to describe the unnatural shape of the head caused by a vicious action. The
hair of the Grauballe Man is described as rusted , the same rust which appears on
ancient metal weapons. Slashed is also used to describe the throat and could refer
to the slashing of swords. These medieval imagery refers to a period whereby
knights were forced to fight and protect their lord s kingdom from invasions of the
barbarians. It is also the period of the crusades, another sectarian war between two
major religions, Christianity and Islam. The poet proceeds to admire and
complement the bog body by comparing it to the Dying Gaul, an ancient Roman
statue. The piece of art, reminiscent to the pose of the Grauballe man, is a dignified
sculpture of a mortally wounded Gallic warrior regarded by the Romans as a barbarian
but portrayed as a noble savage . Heaney uses this image of a heroic death at the
hands of imperialists to emphasize the brutal political reality. Through the lines
hung in the scales , Heaney refers to another Roman statue, Lady Justice. The
roman goddess is an allegorical personification of the moral force in judicial
systems. The forces weighed in this case refers to the beauty of the visual artworks
versus the victims of atrocity caused by the sectarian conflict. Any balance in favor of
50. Diego Velázquez – Las Meninas (1656-57)
Introduction
Las Meninas was VelГЎzquez s largest oeuvre measuring 3.21 m by 2.81 m
(Umberger 96). VelГЎzquez s masterpiece is one that draws sharp criticism ranging
from those who find this work as a complete piece with its pictorial features
prominent in the artwork, to those who find it hard to interpret its content
conclusively (Ancell 159 160; Snyder 542+; Steinberg 48; Bongiorni 88). Despite
such disparities, VelГЎzquez s masterpiece was able to project a day in the life of the
royal family while at the same time achieving his artistic ideal. This work explores
this artwork in light of the royal family and personal gratification by VelГЎzquez as a
celebrated artist.

Isabel de Velasco stands inclined towards the princess. Isabel s glare is towards the
same direction Margarita is facing yet Isabel s face is not affixed to the viewer s
point of view but rather facing down. This captures her as a servant rather than a

Another interesting perspective captured in the painting is facial elevation and
position. The meninas heads are at different elevations to that of Margarita. Their
attention is towards Margarita yet their perspectives are different. MarГa s eye view
is higher than Margarita s eye view yet the painter makes it appear as if MarГa s eyes
are looking up on Margarita. Moreover, Isabel s elevation appears to pay homage to
Margarita by her angle of inclination, eye direction and facial expression. .
On the foreground, the painting captures two dwarfs. The adult dwarf is
MaribГЎrbola while the midget is the daughter NicolГЎs Pertusato (Umberger 97).
NicolГЎs has her foot on the back of the dog, which appears unperturbed despite the
presence of human foot on its back. This calmness shows a well trained dog of the
royal family whose presence is calming. The dog appears to be trained to be a child s

Personal narrative draft When I was 3 years old, just 19 months after my sister
was born, we went on a trip to Florida. We had to wake up at about 3:00 a.m.
,because it takes us an hour to get are luggage in the truck and to get everyone up
and dressed. Our truck was a black Suburban. It took an hour and a half to get the
airport, an hour or two to get our 3 bags of luggage on the plane,to get breakfast,to
get coffee for my Mom, Dad, Nana Pat, and, Papa Daryl. Finally, we got a security
check for all of us. Then,we went to go find our gate where our plane was. Then
we finally found our gate. We walked in through the door that was open and we
walked through a long tunnel like thing to get onto our plane. When we were
stepping onto our plane, I could see the path that the plane was on. There s a little
crack. A crack in between the plane and that little ramp thing that you walk on to
get into the plane. Our plane was Delta. After all of that we we re getting on the
plane. We found our sets and sat in them and buckled up we were ready for our
flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when we took off it was
going down the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was
going up off the ground then we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane
was going fast whenever I looked out the window everything on land and not in the
air looked tiny it was an amazing site from up above. It felt like we were flying with

52. What Are The Beginnings Of The English Civil War
The beginnings of the English Civil war began in 1629 when King Charles I of
England dismissed Parliament. Instead he put England under his personal rule, and
placed taxes on the people without Parliament approving of it. Parliament believed
his non parliamentary taxes on the people of England was a crime. The king was not
happy about this which made Parliament think that the king might be plotting against
them. This tension caused neither Parliament nor the king to trust each other and
made it a toxic environment. Then in 1642, war broke out between Parliamentarians
and the Royalists. With assistance from the Scottish, and a good army, named The
New Model Army , the Parliamentarians won the war and captured Charles I. The
