1. Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution happened between the years 1750-
1900, between that time so much change had happened in
Britain during this time, this is what we call in Industrial
Revolution. There were several big changes that happened
between 1750-1900:
What caused The Industrial Revolution?
The conditions were perfect in Britain for an industrial
revolution; there were also many new inventions.
Farming improved and farming
machines were invented which could
perform tasks quickly than people
could. So, peoples left their villages
and came to settle in the growing
towns.
The population was growing. This
increased the demand for goods such
as food and clothing.
To meet demand, inventors made new
machines to make goods faster and in
greater number. Businessmen backed
inventors by lending them money.
Money was used to build factories to
produce these goods, using the new
machines.
Better Transport was needed to carry
raw materials to the factories and to
take the new goods from factories to
markets. Money was invested to
improve roads, dig canals and lay
down railways.
Today, our industrialized society is the
result of all these changes.
2. Main 3 Reasons:
1. Resources: Large supply of coal to power steam engines and
plenty of iron to build machinery
2. New Technology: Plenty of skilled mechanics were able to
produce practical inventions that paved the way for
industrialization.
3. Economic Conditions: Oversea colonies and their vast empire
allowed them to accumulate the capital necessary
Who Helped?
There were many people who helped in the process, there
were inventors who invented the machines, businessmen who
helped by lending money to help inventors and to build
railways roads etc, the people who moved in from the village to
the growing towns were one of the most important people who
helped in the process.
3. What Happened after The Industrial Revolution?
If you look around you will see many things which run on
electricity this is because after the industrial revolution
electricity became a more important source of energy.
Invention did not stop after the industrial revolution, even now
newer and newer technologies are being invented.
