This document describes an industrial power management system that monitors and controls parameters like transformer temperature and mains voltage. It uses microprocessor-based relays, remote I/O modules, and revenue meters to gather data throughout the power system. The power management system algorithms then acquire this information, make decisions, and send commands back to relays, meters and I/O modules. Protection systems are also used to protect expensive assets like transformers, buses, lines, generators and switchgear to prevent damage and downtime.
