This document presents the final project for the Introduction to Construction Industry course. - 3. Introduction This is the final project for introduction to the construction industry. In a group of 2 students, we are required to find a space of land that within The Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus to build a small construction project of 30m x 30m area. There are 5 choices, which are Recreation area, Study enhancement area, Rest area, Food and beverage (dining area), and Commercial area (exclude food and beverage). So at first, we took such a long period to select our site within the campus. At last we had chosen a site, which located right behind the basketball court. There is an empty space where there is also some water area, looked like a small lake. Our main idea is to create a place for the student to relax and chill after having their tiring activities at the sport corner. Our site is right beside the basketball court. The site is currently deserted.
- 4. Site Analysis $ The site that we have chosen is located right behind the basketball court. Our site is approximately 25.5M x 25M. It is a public space where no one will notice and it is an unorganized space, for a long time already. It is covered with WILD PLANT, they growing larger from time to time. It has no roof, no railing, no tiles, and no cements. Surrounding: basketball court, futsal court, road, and car park Topography: a small lake covered with grass, and curve Hydrology: the site is fully exposed to the sunlight during daytime and rainfall from 100mm to 30mm Wind age: Windy Human Interactions: Zero
- 5. Concept: We decided to propose a new area, which serves as numerous functions such as dining area, toilet area, resting area, recreation area and sickbay area. This multipurpose serving area is located right behind the basketball court in Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. We decided to choose the site because we want to create an area where basketball players and other sport players can hang out after playing their sports. We know that the students will get tired after playing their sports. So, we can create a resting and recreation area where they can relax and unwind after a tired session at the basketball court. Besides resting and recreation area, we can also create a toilet area where the sweaty sport players can bath and clean up themselves after playing their sports. My site is going to be 25.5 M x 25 M. The materials used to build this area are going to be bricks, woods, roofing materials and many more.

Benefits of our site: -Located right behind basketball court of Taylor’s Lakeside Campus. -Walking distance for basketball player. -Also walking distance for futsal and tennis player as the court is right beside the basketball court. -Allow sport players to rest and unwind. -Contain waterfront that can reduce area temperature. -Contain sickbay where the injured sport players can have first aid immediately as the sickbay is very near to the sport area. -Contain air-conditioned room where the sport player can chill and cool them down. -Contain dining area where the sport players can eat their food after their exhausting game. -Contain large toilet area where the sport players can bath and clean themselves up. -Contain recreation area where people can watch television and rest on the sofa.

Disadvantages of our site: !It$is$currently$deserted$and$there$is$no$human$interaction.$ !It$is$located$far$from$the$university$campus.$ !Many$wild$long$grasses$is$growing$and$it’s$difficult$to$clean$up.$ !Targeted$visitors$may$be$just$the$sport$players$but$not$the$students$from$the$campus.$ !The$temperature$of$the$area$is$high$and$hot.$ !The$humidity$of$that$area$is$also$high.

- 20. Ideas for our chill place: We are going to decorate our toilets in a stylish way like this. We going to use marble as the toilet wall so it is easier to clean up. The toilet is huge and wide to serve the visitors a comfortable place where they can bath comfortably and happily. While for the dining area, we wish to use most of the space for tables so that more people can have their meal at the same time. This can also help to increase the human interaction in our chill place. $
- 21. Ideas for our chill place: This is going to be our lounge area where people can watch television, relax on the sofa and chill. People will enjoy themselves in the lounge and also enjoy the cool air-conditioned room. And this how the sick bay is going to be looked like. The sick bay will be totally sound proof to the noise outside of the room and will be fully equipped with all the injury aiding kits. Ideas for our chill place:
- 22. There is going to be a long deck boardwalk around the waterfront where the visitors can walk by and have a sit on the benches by the waterfront. Besides, we will plant many decorative plants at the waterfront in order to decorate our place and also freshen up our place at the same time. This can help to reduce the area temperature as well.
