Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came
into force - 26 January 1950.

This date was chosen as it was the anniversary of Purna Swaraj Day,
which was held on January 26, 1930.
On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath. It represents
the true spirit of the independent India.

Republic Day parade includes lively displays; exhibits India's rich and
colorful culture and military might.
Celebrations begin with remembering the soldiers who sacrificed their
lives for the country.
Prime Minister lays a floral wreath at
