1. The main parade, led by an army contingent,
was received with applause here as residents
braved the early morning chill to make it to the
Vidhan Sabha Marg to catch a glimpse of the
colorful show.
Governor B.L. Joshi took the salute at the
parade. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was
present.
Other than the police and military, students
from different schools also participated in the
parade.
Across the state, the day was celebrated at
district headquarters.

11. Republic Day of India is here again and citizens of the country are busy
organizing for the 62nd year of the event. Every year, January 26 is celebrated
as Republic Day in India to honour January 26, 1950 when Constitution of India
came into existence. The Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism
all over the country. It is the day when India became a Sovereign, Democratic
and Republic country. Today, not only schools & educational institutions but also
Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA), corporate offices and apartment
communities organize events for Republic Day celebration.
R epublic Day Speech is taken as an inspiring speech for every citizen,
youth and children, who are the future of India. Year after year, President of India
addresses the nation on the eve of Republic day. Republic Day Speech
delivered by children in schools or apartment complexes is yet another attraction
where they speak about the day itself, saga of the sacrifice of Indian freedom
struggle and their view on current & future India.

showed courage and bravery for country's

Ashok Chakra are conferred on the event by
the President. Since 1950, for Republic Day
celebrations India has been inviting guests of
high dignitaries of another country as the state
guest of honour.
Not only in New Delhi, but other states also
celebrate Republic Day with great enthusiasm
and in numerous innovative ways. The
Republic Day 2013 will be observed on
Saturday (26 January) and the public offices
and schools will remain closed to celebrate the
significance of the day.

ones that lend a festive ambience to the historic occasion.

The festivity of Republic Day concludes officially with the
intriguing Beating Retreat ceremony on the evening of 29th
January. This enthralling ceremony is performed by the
military, the Indian Air Force, India Navy and India Army in
the Raisina Hills, New Delhi, in front of the President of India
as the Chief Guest.
