We are going to learn about definition of artificial intelligence history of artificial intelligence, types of artificial intelligence, advantages and disadvantages of AL.
In these these presentations, we are going to learn about Artificial intelligence.
1. What is artificial intelligence?
• Artificial intelligence is a set of technologies that
enable computers to perform a variety of advanced
functions, including the ability to see, understand
and translate spoken and written language, analyse
data, make recommendations.
• It is a science of making machines that can think like
humans. It can do things that are considered
“smart.” AI can progress large amounts of data in
ways unlike human.
2. History of artificial intelligence
• Artificial intelligence is a young discipline of sixty
years, which is a set of sciences, theories and
techniques ( including mathematical logic, statistics,
science) that aim is to imitate cognitive abilities of a
human being. Initiated in the breath of the second
world war, its developments are intimately linked to
those of computing and have let computers to
perform increasingly complex tasks, which cloud
previously only be delegated to a human.
3. • Birth of AL in the wake of cybernetics
• The period between 1940 and 1960 was strongly
marked by the conjunction of technological
developments (of which the second world war was
an accelerator) and the desire to understand how to
bring together the functioning of machines and
organic beings. For Norbert Wiener, a pioneer in
Cybernetics, the aim was to unify mathematical
theory and automation as a whole theory of control
and communication, both in animals and machines.
4. Types of artificial intelligence
• Weak or narrow artificial intelligence
• Strong or General artificial intelligence
• Super artificial intelligence
(ANI)
(AGI)
5. Weak or narrow artificial intelligence
• Weak artificial intelligence also called narrow
artificial intelligence is a type of artificial
intelligence that is limited to perform a specific or
narrow area. Weak artificial intelligence stimulates
human cognition. It has the potential to benefit
society by automating time consuming tasks and by
analysing data in ways that a human can’t.
6. Strong artificial intelligence
• It is an artificial intelligence construct that has
mental capabilities and functions that mimic the
human brain.
7. Super artificial intelligence
• It is a form of artificial intelligence capable of
surpassing human intelligence by manifesting cognitive
skills and developing thinking skills of its own.
8. Advantages of artificial intelligence
• Artificial never rests or requires sleep, while the
human body and mind needs rest to continue to
function at optimal levels.
• It can take on risky tasks which for humans would be
extremely hazardous.
• Makes faster business decisions based on outputs
from cognitive technologies.
9. Disadvantages of AI
• One application of AI is robot, which is displacing
occupations and increasing unemployment.
• It requires and cost a huge money to create a
machine that stimulates human intelligence.
• Artificial intelligence cannot think out of the box. It
is capable of learning over time with pre-fed data and
past experience but cannot be creative in it
approach.
10. CONCLUSION
Artificial intelligence has slowly but surely
entered every area of our lives from online
shopping to television viewing to every thing.
AL in other words, it is a study of man-made
computational devices and systems.
