Learners’ Experiences.
ICT in Learning and Teaching
• The Currie ICT Blog; SharePoint; Twitter;
Career Long Professional Learning (CLPL)
on ICT in L&T including Apple Professional
Development (APD)Training; Introduction of

Ensure Consistently High Quality Learning and Teaching
 Continue to develop the Learning and Teaching online toolkit
and blog to engage all staff and ensure we all take
responsibility for our own professional learning and
development.
 Develop the CLPL library and resource area to support staff
and to keep up the momentum following the successful Currie
Learning Festival in May 2015.
 Another Currie Learning Festival in 2015/16 for staff and also
one for parents.
 The Learning and Teaching Working Group – Percy; Lianne;
Kristy; and Irene. NEW MEMBERS VERY WELCOME!!

Ensure Consistently High Quality Learning and Teaching
 The Currie Learning Community (CLC) – all of us.
 The Currie Learning Groups (CLGs) – the groups focusing
on specific areas which were priorities in 2014/15 and which
will continue to be priorities in 2015/16. ICT; Questioning;
Feedback; Active Learning. These groups will continue to
promote innovative practice in L&T and will continue the
excellent work which culminated in the CLF in May 2015. Led
by: Ken; Lesley Helm; Lisa; Lianne; Kate; Annette; Gillian;
Sharon; Lesley Muir; Joanne.

Ensure Consistently High Quality Learning and Teaching.
• Faster pace and more challenge.
• Less copying.
• Differentiated tasks, activities and resources including
differentiated success criteria.
• Breadth, challenge and application can be introduced through
meaningful, ongoing extension activities.
• Ensuring learners are aware of their levels and what they need
to do to improve.
• Specific and focused written and verbal feedback.
• Using different questioning techniques to engage all learners
and ensure everyone is actively learning.

Curriculum
 Evaluate existing NQs and develop and deliver new Higher and
Advanced Higher courses.
 Ensure that learning for sustainability and the school’s vision and
values underpin all four contexts of learning
 Be explicit, through LIs and SC, about the skills pupils are developing
through lessons.
 Continue to evaluate the BGE ( including primary/secondary transition)
to ensure coherence and progression across the four contexts of
learning.
 Continue to explore and expand flexible progression pathways for all in
the SP
 Embed STEM and Learning for Sustainability in the BGE and the SP in
line with the recommendations from DSYW and the school’s rationale
for the curriculum.
 Continue to consult with all about the design of the curriculum.

 Foster a ‘Growth Mindset’ across staff and
pupils.
 Develop and evaluate an ASL toolkit.
 Provide in house CLPL on differentiation and
meeting learning needs in the classroom.
 Further develop the role of the Inclusion
Teacher.
 Evaluate provision for the most able pupils.

 Review NQ courses and internal verification practices.
 Systematically monitor and track the progress of pupils through the
BGE.
 Set up an Insight Analysis Group and encourage all staff to engage
with Insight.
 Ensure that all students are appropriately challenged by their course
choice in the SP.
 Review the current target setting booklets, pupils planners and profiling
through consultation with staff and pupils and ensure a streamlined
and efficient system.
 Improve attendance to above 95% for all year groups.
 Ensure that robust moderation is embedded in all departments and
faculties.
 Monitor, track and celebrate pupils’ wider achievements.

meaningful action plans.
 Link PR&D and CLPL to improving outcomes at all
