Students in certain health-related degrees must undergo clinical screening before going on clinical placements, including proving immunity to various diseases through blood tests. The screening ensures students are protected and do not put patients at risk. Students must pay for any required vaccinations and follow-up blood tests to prove immunity. Screening also involves tuberculosis and MRSA testing which requires planning ahead to meet timelines. Maintaining up-to-date screening records is the student's responsibility.
