• Article 30. Foreign students.
1. Students from a foreign country, from 3 years old to max
compulsory age with one of these circumstances:
• a) Lack of knowledge of both official languages from
Galicia.
• b) Significant curricular gap.
• c) Serious difficulties adjusting to school/ Adjusting to
school problems
2. Regional department will provide special measures in
order to promote the proper educational treatment to
foreign students who are in the last cases. These measures
might be curricular and/or organisational ones.
Attention to Diversity Plan
1. Common measures:
• Mentoring programmes
• Educational support (made by the specialists)
• School help (made by special needs teachers in Maths
and Language)
• Support in writing and reading (1 group in 1ºESO and 1
group in 2ºESO)
• Calculation (1 group in 2ºESO)
• Resits
• Personalized programmes (made by one assistant)
• Optional subjects.
2. Extraordinary measures:
• Exemption of compulsory 2nd foreign language
• Individualized curricular adaptation
• Newcomers may be placed up to two levels below the
one corresponding to their age.
The Regional Department law allows the schools to form:
• Language acquisition groups
• Curricular adaptation groups

  • 6. Decree 229/2011 • Article 30. Foreign students. 1. Students from a foreign country, from 3 years old to max compulsory age with one of these circumstances: • a) Lack of knowledge of both official languages from Galicia. • b) Significant curricular gap. • c) Serious difficulties adjusting to school/ Adjusting to school problems 2. Regional department will provide special measures in order to promote the proper educational treatment to foreign students who are in the last cases. These measures might be curricular and/or organisational ones.
  • 7. Attention to Diversity Plan 1. Common measures: • Mentoring programmes • Educational support (made by the specialists) • School help (made by special needs teachers in Maths and Language) • Support in writing and reading (1 group in 1ºESO and 1 group in 2ºESO) • Calculation (1 group in 2ºESO) • Resits • Personalized programmes (made by one assistant) • Optional subjects.
