  3. 3. Kindergarten Nursery or Kindergarten covers the ages since 0-2 years. There are only a few state schools, but lots of private schools. State schools depend of the town halls Private schools
  4. 4. Preschool Preschool covers the ages since 3-5 years old. State schools, depend of the regional government . “ Concertada” school (private school that are helped with public funds). Private schools
  5. 5. Primary School Primary school is structured as three 2-year cycles. First cycle (6-7 years of age). Second cycle (8-9 years of age). Third cycle (10-11 years of age). Public school “ Concertada” school Private school
  6. 6. Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) Compulsory Secondary Education is structured as two cycles of two academic years each (total 4 years) 1 st cycle (12-13 years of age) 2 nd cycle (14 -15 years) Public school “ Concertada” school Private school
  7. 7. Spanish Baccalaureate The post-compulsory is the Spanish Baccalaureate, or “Bachillerato”. Is the normal option for those wishing to go on the university. It entitles the student to enter to university, or to follow some kind of higher vocational training.

  13. 13. Vocational Education The vocational training is also a common possibility after ESO or after the Spanish Baccalaureate . There are two different types of programmes: <ul><li>Middle Grade Training Cycles, which have the ESO diploma as requirement,
  14. 14. Superior-level Training Cycles, which have the Spanish Baccalaureate as the principal requirement. </li></ul>
