IM/DD-OFDM Modem Based on
Adaptive Equalization
3. • Optical system suffer from :
• The chromatic dispersion(CD).
• Fiber nonlinearity (Kerr effect ).
• High cost of classical solutions :
• Optical Filter.
• DCF (Dispersion Compensation Fiber).
• Solution: DSP for chromatic dispersion compensation and nolinearity compensation, OFDM
• In this work, we propose different DSP algorithms for link compensation in IMDD OFDM system

9. Conclusion
•Numerical setup of optical OFDM waveform is developed based on SSMF.
•The capability of linear equaliser to compensate link deterioration is
restricted.
•The third order Volterra nonlinear equalizer can compensate link
impairments (linear and nonlinear)
