This document summarizes an experimental study on enhancing heat transfer in a corrugated plate heat exchanger by adding aluminum oxide (Al2O3) microparticles to water. The study used a 3-channel heat exchanger with sinusoidal corrugated plates at a 45 degree angle. Hot water was flowed through the central channel while water with varying concentrations of Al2O3 microparticles was flowed through the outer channels. Tested parameters included hot water inlet temperature from 40-70°C, Al2O3 volume concentration from 0-1.275%, and parallel vs counter flow configurations. Results showed adding Al2O3 microparticles increased heat exchanger effectiveness substantially, with counter flow seeing up to 0.96 effectiveness

In heat exchanger, the enthalpy is transferred between two or more fluids, at different temperatures. The major challenge in designing a heat exchanger is to make the equipment more compact and achieve a high heat transfer rate using minimum pumping power. In recent years, the high cost of energy and material has resulted in an increased effort aimed at producing more efficient heat exchange equipment. Furthermore, as a heat exchanger becomes older, the resistance to heat transfer increases owing to fouling or scaling. The heat transfer rate can be improved by introducing a disturbance in the fluid flow thereby breaking the viscous and thermal boundary layer. However, in the process pumping power may increase significantly and ultimately the pumping cost becomes high. Therefore, to achieve a desired heat transfer rate in an existing heat exchanger at an economic pumping power, several techniques have been proposed in recent years and are discussed under the classification section.
In this work, a study of transient heat transfer in double tube heat exchanger has enhanced. The inner tube of the setup was made with corrugation on both inner and outer walls by twisting the pipe from one end, which gives the more swirling motion to the fluid particles flowing over it. The flow inside the pipe was considered as turbulent, and the analysis was done experimentally and theoretically by using the ANSYS workbench. The experimental results were compared with the experimental values taken in the setup done by considering the inner tube as normal pipe. In both heat exchangers the values were taken and compared with the theoretical analysis. Temperature distribution and heat transfer rate were calculated and the details of the study have been discussed in this paper.
A Review on Study of Heat Transfer Analysis of Helical Coil Heat Exchangersijtsrd
Now a day’s a geometrically modified Helical coil heat exchangers are widely using in industrial applications like cryogenic state processes, air conditioning, thermal nuclear reactors and waste heat recovery due to their compact size and high heat transfer coefficient. Advantage of using helical coils over straight tubes is that the residence time spread is reduced, allowing helical coils to be used to reduce axial dispersion in tubular reactors. In this study, numerical investigation of the influence of geometrical parameters such as tube diameter d , coil radius R , and coil pitch p on overall heat transfer coefficient in helical double tube heat exchangers are performed using a professional CFD software FLUENT. In recent years, numerous styles were introduced for heat exchangers that apply to completely different applications sadly, their heat transfer co efficient wasnt reliable at different operational conditions. the standard of the heat changed rate wasnt optimized and there have been many deficiencies and errors in styles. The heat transfer of the copper material is enhanced in comparison with other material unfortunately thermal resistance is reduced with an increase in pressure drop thus enhancing the heat transfer on the heat exchanger. Helical architecture is often designed with a clear motive of compact size and also address heat transfer co efficient and other ancillary attributes efficiently and effectively. So the better material is suggested for an industrial heat exchanger according to the applications is Copper with the basis of simulation results. The geometry and different dimension parameter of the helical coil show that the proposed study in different material properties and different mass flow rates to heat transfer are maximum in different parameter helical coil heat exchangers. Finally, the heat transfer increase for the copper material compared to another material but with the increase in pressure drop the corresponding thermal resistance decreases which allow the improved heat transfer rate and the rate increases from Aluminum to Bronze to Copper. With the drop in temperature, the thermal resistance is reduced which enhances the heat transfer rate. The simulation results show that the copper has a high heat transfer coefficient than Aluminum and Bronze while operating in identical conditions. Performance Analysis of a Shell Tube Condenser for a Model Organic Rankine Cy...IJERA Editor
The global energy demand increases with the economic growth and population rise. Most electrical power is currently generated by conventional methods from fossil fuels. Despite the high energy demand, the conventional energy resources such as fossil fuels have been declining. In addition to this harmful combustion byproducts are resulting global warming. However, the increase of environmental concerns and energy crisis can be minimized by sustainable utilization of the low to medium temperature heat resources. The Organic Rankine Cycle power plant is a very effective option for utilization of low grade heat sources for power generation. Heat exchangers are the main components of the Organic Rankine Cycle power plant which receives heat energy from the heat source to evaporate and condense the low boiling temperature organic working fluid which in turn drives the turbine to generate power. This paper presents a simplified approach to the design, fabrication and performance assessment of a shell tube heat exchanger designed for condenser in a model Organic Rankine Cycle geothermal power plant. The design involved sizing of heat exchanger (condenser) using the LMTD method based on an expected heat transfer rate. The heat exchanger of the model power plant was tested in which hot water simulated geothermal brine. The results of the experiment indicated that the heat exchanger is thermally suitable for the condenser of the model power plant.

Cooling tower in the HVAC industry is used to reject heat from a system. The refrigeration cycle requires that the heat absorbed from a refrigerated space be rejected and this is done through the condenser where the water from the cooling tower exchanges heat so that it can be discharged by the cooling tower. It is essential that the performance of the cooling tower be improved so the refrigerant cycle can take place at its optimum. The paper explores the area in the cross-flow cooling tower where the focus on where the porous media or the fill / packing is located and the area in the vicinity for a single phase flow. The behavior of the air intake flow into the cooling tower from the side part through the fill will be observed and how it affects the distribution of the air flow inside the fill will be analyzed. The solution of the related governing equation for the basic flow and for flow involving porous media will be presented. It was revealed that the porosity introduced a high pressure drop inside the cooling tower. The pressure inside the cooling tower generally is lower that before the porous media was introduced. The results also revealed that if the heat transfer inside the porous media is to be improved, higher dynamic pressure inside the cooling tower is required which would result in higher fan power output.

Two phase closed thermosyphon is a good heat transfer device. A large heat is transferred from evaporator to condenser with relatively a small temperature difference. In the present work, the heat transfer performance of two phase closed thermosyphon is analyzed experimentally with different cross section shape for the thermosyphon tube. A copper thermosyphon has been constructed with three different cross section shape (circular, square and rectangular) having the same hydraulic diameter and length. Methanol is used as the working fluid. The temperature distribution across the thermosyphon outer surface was measured and recorded using thermocouples. The results showed that the heat transfer coefficient increases with the increase of input power, thermal resistance is indirectly proportional to the input power. The maximum heat transfer coefficient (1815 W/m2C) for square cross section at the input power (500 W).
Enhancement of heat transfer in tube in-tube heat exchangers using twisted in...Ijrdt Journal
Heat exchangers have several industrial and engineering applications. There are different methods to enhance heat transfer in heat exchangers. Passive technique of heat transfer is the most economical and best suited one. The role of inserts in internal forced convection has been widely acknowledged as a passive device in the heat transfer enhancement. One of such technique is introduction of twisted inserts which enhances the heat transfer coefficient. Twisted aluminium inserts when placed in the path of the fluid flow, creates a high degree of turbulence resulting in an increase in the heat transfer rate. By placing inserts, it is expected that the benefits due to the increased heat transfer coefficient overcome the higher cost involved because of the increased frictional losses. The work mainly focuses on increasing the heat transfer of tube-in-tube heat exchangers by using twisted aluminium inserts. The results obtained from the tube with twisted aluminium insert are compared with those without twisted insert using standard properties of heat transfer (LMTD & Effectiveness). The relations based on the data gathered during this work for predicting the heat transfer coefficient of the horizontal pipe with twisted taped insert are proposed. According to the results, in order to obtain maximum heat transfer, the twist ratio must be at the lowest level.
CFD Analysis of Heat Transfer Enhancement in Shell and Tube Type Heat Exchang...ijtsrd
Shell and Tube heat exchangers are having special importance in boilers, oil coolers, condensers, pre-heaters. Shell and Tube heat exchanger is one such heat exchanger, provides more area for heat transfer between two fluids in comparison with other type of heat exchanger. To intensify heat transfer with minimum pumping power innovative heat transfer fluids called Nano fluids have become the major area of research now a days. The primary aim is to evaluate the effect of different weight concentration and temperatures on convective heat transfer. Increasing the weight concentration and temperatures leads to enhancement of convective heat transfer coefficient. In the present, work attempts are made to enhance the heat transfer rate in shell and tube heat exchangers. A multi pass shell and tube heat exchanger with 3 tubes with fins modelling is done using ANSYS. Nanofluid such as Al2O3-H2O is used. The CFD simulated results achieved from the use of the creating fin in tube side in shell and tube type heat exchanger are compared with without fin. Based on the results, providing fins on tube causes the increment of overall heat transfer coefficient which results in the enhancement of heat transfer rate of heat exchanger. Sudhanshu Pathak | H. Heat transfer in pipes is a distinctive kind of procedure employed in heat exchanger which transfers great
deal of heat because of the impact of capillary action and phase change heat transfer principle. Late improvement
in the heat pipe incorporates high thermal conductivity liquids like Nano liquids, fixed inside to extricate the most
extreme heat. This paper audits, impact of different factors, for example, thermal pipe tilt edge, charged measure
of working liquid, nano particles sort, size, and mass/volume part and its impact on the change of thermal
proficiency, thermal exchange limit and decrease in thermal protection. The Nano liquid arrangement and the
examination of its thermal attributes likewise have been investigated. The retained sun oriented vitality is
exchanged to the working liquid streaming in the pipe. The execution of the framework is affected by thermal
exchange from tube to working liquid, with least convective misfortunes, which must be considered as one of the
essential plan factor. In tube and channel streams, to improve the rate of heat exchange to the working liquid,
detached enlargement methods, for example, contorted tapes and swirl generators are employed from the fluid
flow path. The variation of heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop in the pipe flow for water and water based
Al2O3 Nano fluids at different volume concentrations and twisted tapes are studied.
Suspended nanoparticles in conventional fluids,
called nanofluids, have been the subject of intensive study
worldwide since pioneering researchers recently discovered the
anomalous thermal behavior of these fluids. The heat transfer from
smaller area is achieved through microchannels. The heat transfer
principle states that maximum heat transfer is achieved in
microchannels with maximum pressure drop across it. In this
research work the experimental and numerical investigation for
the improved heat transfer characteristics of serpentine shaped
microchannel heat sink using Al2O3/water nanofluid is done. The
fluid flow characteristics is also analyzed for the serpentine
shaped micrchannel. The experimental results of the heat
transfer using Al2O3 nanofluid is compared with the numerical
values. The calculations in this work suggest that the best heat
transfer enhancement can be obtained by using a system with an
Al2O3–water nanofluid-cooled micro channel with serpentine

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ATTRITION IN THE IT INDUSTRY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC: LINKING EMOTIONAL INTE...IAEME Publication
Globally, Millions of dollars were spent by the organizations for employing skilled Information Technology (IT) professionals. It is costly to replace unskilled employees with IT professionals possessing technical skills and competencies that aid in interconnecting the business processes. The organization’s employment tactics were forced to alter by globalization along with technological innovations as they consistently diminish to remain lean, outsource to concentrate on core competencies along with restructuring/reallocate personnel to gather efficiency. As other jobs, organizations or professions have become reasonably more appropriate in a shifting employment landscape, the above alterations trigger both involuntary as well as voluntary turnover. The employee view on jobs is also afflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic along with the employee-driven labour market. So, having effective strategies is necessary to tackle the withdrawal rate of employees. By associating Emotional Intelligence (EI) along with Talent Management (TM) in the IT industry, the rise in attrition rate was analyzed in this study. Banking regulations act of India, 1949 defines banking as “acceptance of deposits for the purpose of lending or investment from the public, repayment on demand or otherwise and withdrawable through cheques, drafts order or otherwise”, the major participants of the Indian financial system are commercial banks, the financial institution encompassing term lending institutions. Investments institutions, specialized financial institution and the state level development banks, non banking financial companies (NBFC) and other market intermediaries such has the stock brokers and money lenders are among the oldest of the certain variants of NBFC and the oldest market participants. The asset quality of banks is one of the most important indicators of their financial health. The Indian banking sector has been facing severe problems of increasing Non- Performing Assets (NPAs). The NPAs growth directly and indirectly affects the quality of assets and profitability of banks. It also shows the efficiency of banks credit risk management and the recovery effectiveness. NPA do not generate any income, whereas, the bank is required to make provisions for such as assets that why is a double edge weapon. This paper outlines the concept of quality of bank loans of different types like Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of selected public and private sector banks. This study is highlighting problems associated with the role of commercial bank in financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME). ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.

1. INTRODUCTION
It is well known fact that solids have higher magnitude of Thermal Conductivity at room
temperature than those of fluids. Thermal Conductivity of Aluminium is 400 times greater than
that of water at room temperature. So it is well known that by dispersing these solid particles in
fluid, Thermal conductivity of fluid can be expected to increase significantly. Over the previous
decades many experimental studies have been conducted to investigate the possible effect and
underlying mechanism of increasing thermal conductivity in heat transfer due to the use of solid
particles in different base fluids. Suspension of solid particles in conventional fluids, the most
prominent features of such fluids includes enhanced heat transfer characteristics, such as
convective heat transfer coefficient and thermal conductivity in comparison to the base fluid
without considerable alteration in physical and chemical properties. This considerable increase
in heat transfer may, under appropriate operational conditions load to decreased energy
expenditure and raw material input, reduced size of equipment and consequently reduced
expenses and increased system efficiency.
2. PARAMETERS WHICH AFFECTS THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF
AL2O3 WATER- FLUID
Particle volume fraction: -Most of the research reports increasing thermal conductivity
with increase particle volume fraction and the relation found are usually linear. It was concluded
that despite the fact that particle volume fraction is very small; particles interact with each other
due to very high particle concentration (1011
particles/cm3
).
Particle Material: -Particle material is an important parameter that affects the thermal
conductivity of water-fluids. It might be thought that the difference in the thermal conductivities
of particle materials is the main reason for the effect on heat transfer. This happens because of
different chemical bonding, melting and boiling point of the material. Many different particle
materials are used such as Al2O3, CuO, TiO2, SiC, TiC, Ag, Au, Cu and Fe.
Particle Size: -The size of particle is an important factor that affects the thermal
conductivity enhancement which concludes that the thermal conductivity of water-fluids
increases with decreasing particle size. This trend is theoretically supported by two mechanisms
of thermal conductivity enhancement, Brownian motion of particles and liquid layering around
particles.
Particle Shape: -There mainly two particles shapes used in water-fluid research, spherical
particles and cylindrical particles. Cylindrical particles provide higher thermal conductivity
enhancement than spherical particles because of the rapid heat transfer along relatively larger
distances in cylindrical particles have much larger viscosity than those with spherical particles.
Base fluid: -Base fluids mostly used in the preparation of water-fluids are the common
working fluids of heat transfer applications, such as water, ethylene glycol, and engine oil.
Temperature: -In conventional suspension of solid particles (with sizes on the order of
millimetres or micrometres) in liquids, the thermal conductivity of the mixture depends on
temperature only due to dependence of thermal conductivity of base liquid and solid particles on
temperature.
3. ABOUT CORRUGATED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER
The fluid dynamical and thermal phenomenon occurred in corrugated wall channel have been
studied in different engineering sectors. Corrugated surface are for example utilised in compact
heat exchanger. The corrugation allows the heat transfer surface between dissipaters and coolant
fluids to be extended, maintaining at same time a reduced dissipater volume and weight. The

study of heat transfer through corrugation surface is also particularly interesting for the cooling
application in the electronic industry, aeronautic and automobile industry, food and dairy
industry, chemical and cosmetics industry. In general the corrugation of the walls extends the
heat transfer surface of the channels and generates turbulence at low Reynolds number. Moreover
the corrugation of the walls, in some cases can induce the stagnation of the coolant fluid. As a
consequence, the local convection coefficient s so reduced that even of the heat transfer surface
between the wall and the fluids extended. The global heat transfer effectiveness does not
overcome that of the flat wall channel of comparable size. Therefore, the heat transfer
effectiveness of corrugated channel depends on many factors concerning the geometry of walls,
the properties of the coolant fluid, and the nature of the flow. Moreover, it can only be correctly
compared with the heat transfer effectiveness of the flat wall channels y also considering the
external size, the wall volume or weight. Most of the studies performed on the fluid dynamical
and thermal phenomena occurring in corrugated wall channels consider corrugations having a
periodical pattern which is described by simple functions such as rectangular, triangular or
sinusoidal. However due to the variety of thermal and fluid dynamical characteristics described
in the literature under different conditions, the study of more complex corrugation profile can be
useful to better evaluate the convenience of assigning to the channel walls corrugated rather than
flat profiles.
3.1. Evaluation Parameter of Heat Exchanger
Commonly used parameter to evaluate the performance of two-fluid heat exchangers is the heat
transfer effectiveness, which is defined as the ratio of the heat transfer from either stream to the
maximum possible heat transfer in the heat exchanger. Heat transfer effectiveness of a heat
exchanger only indicates the relative magnitude of the heat transfer loading (not exergy transfer
loading) in a process. The efficiency of the process in terms of exergy is completely irrelevant to
the information of its heat transfer effectiveness.
4. EXPERIMENTAL SETUP
The photograph of the experimental setup was fabricated with 22-gauge GI sheets to investigate
the heat transfer characteristics of the plate heat exchanger channels for same flow conditions
with different inlet hot water temperatures are shown in (Figure 1). It includes a hot water loop,
two coolant loop and a measurement system. The hot water loop comprises a water tank, a heater,
and a submersible water pump. The cold-water loop comprises a water tank, and a submersible
water pump. A digital temperature indicator with thermocouples is used to measure temperatures
at inlet and exit of the hot and cold streams. The flow rate is measured by noting down time for
collection of fixed volume of the fluid. The whole system is thermally insulated to minimize the
energy loss.

5. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
Experimental procedure Hot water was made to flow through the central corrugated channel to
maintain the channel surfaces at approximately constant temperature. Cold water is made to flow
in the upper and lower channels. Thermocouples were inserted in the inlet and exit of the hot and
cold streams, were used to record the corresponding fluid temperatures. Thermocouples were
calibrated with ZEAL mercury thermometer And Infrared Digital Thermometer. Experiments
were conducted for 40˚, 45˚, 50˚, 55˚, 60˚, 65˚, 70˚C inlet temperature of hot water in parallel and
counter flow arrangement. The hot and cold water flow rate is maintained constant for all inlet
hot water temperatures and for both parallel and counter flow arrangements. Mass flow rate of
hot fluid (water) is maintained at 0.05 kg/s and that of the cold fluid (water) is 0.16 kg/s.

Figure-6 Variation of hot fluid outlet temperature at different volume percent of Al2O3 in cold fluid in
counter flow arrangement
In the above two figures (fig 5 and 6) It is observed that at different inlet temperature of hot
fluid (400
C to 700
C) temperature drop in hot fluid is maximum in counter flow than in parallel.
Drop in temperature of hot fluid for Corrugated Plate Heat Exchanger, in parallel & counter flow
increases, as the inlet hot fluid temperature increases. Effect of Th1 from 400
C to700
C is more
significant onTh2 when plain cold water is used. As volume percentage of Al2O3 increases in cold
water from 0.125 to 1.275, the initial temperature of hot fluid becomes less or no significant. This
is clear from fig 4.2 all the lines converge at 1.275 vol % of Al2O3 in the water.

Figure 8 Variation of effectiveness of corrugated pate heat exchanger at different volume percent of
Al2O3 in cold fluid in counter flow arrangement
In the above two figures (fig 7 and 8) It is observed that counter flow effectiveness is 18%
higher than that in parallel flow in water-water combination of fluid. Counter flow effectiveness

8. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
A three channel 1-1 pass corrugated plate heat exchanger with corrugation angle of 45˚ is used
in the present study. Water is taken as cold and hot fluid. The Al2O3 microparticles in different
volume percentage were mixed in the cold fluid (water) in parallel and counter flow
arrangements. The hot water inlet temperature range is selected from 40o
C to 70o
C. An attempt
has been made in the present study to find the effect of Al2O3 micro particles on the performance
of heat exchanger. The following conclusions are drawn from the present work.
1. Effect of Th1 from 40o
C to 70o
C is more significant onTh2 when plain cold water is
used. As volume percentage of Al2O3 increases in cold water from 0.125 to 1.275, the
initial temperature of hot fluid becomes less or no significant.
2. Counter flow effectiveness is 18% higher than that in parallel flow in water-water
combination of fluid.
3. Addition of different volume percentage from 0.125 to 1.275 of Al2O3 micro particles
in the cold fluid enhance the heat transfer rate in parallel and counter flow
arrangements.
4. Counter flow effectiveness is 19.4% higher than that in parallel flow when 0.125% of
Al2O3 micro particles were added in the cold water.
5. Counter flow effectiveness is 28.57% higher than that in parallel flow when 0.250%
of Al2O3 micro particles were added in the cold water.
6. As a volume percentage of Al2O3 increases in the cold fluid the effectiveness of heat
exchanger increases substantially.
7. Counter flow effectiveness is 0.96 when 1.275% of Al2O3 micro particles were added
in the cold water.
