In this paper, the Taguchi method is used for the
Optimization of Tungsten Inert Gas Welding on 6063
Aluminum Alloy. The Taguchi method L27 is used to
optimize the pulsed TIG welding process parameters of 6063
aluminum alloy weldments for maximizing the mechanical
properties. Analysis of Variance is used to find the impact of
individual factors. Then the optimal parameters of the TIG
welding process is determined and the experimental results
illustrate the proposed approach.

with the desired weld bead geometry and excellent mechanical properties with maximum metal
deposition rate and minimum distortion rate. This paper presents the review of the effect of input

Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) is high quality and high precision welding process which are
suitable for welding thin metals. Inert gas as helium and argon are used as a shielding gas to prevent the weld
bead from air, dust and other contaminations in welding. There are so many welding process parameter affect
the weld quality in GTAW. Important process parameter which mainly affect the weld quality are welding
current, arc voltage, welding speed, gas flow rate, heat input, gun angle, stand of distance and specimen
thickness. Important quality parameters in GTAW process are depth of penetration and weld bead geometry.
Depth of penetration and weld bead width both are affected by welding speed. As welding speed increases,
depth of penetration increases but weld bead width decreases. The weld joint quality can be assessed in terms of
weld bead geometry, mechanical properties and distortion. Post weld heat treatment is done to improve the
weld quality by solutioning and aging which results in refinement of grain size and thus, mechanical properties
of weld joint improved. Heat input effects the filler rod deposition rate in the form of droplets in weld bead. This
paper covers review of process parameters of GTAW and their effect on weld quality.

The depth of penetrations were measured for each specimen after the welding operation is done on closed butt joint and the effects of welding speed, current, voltage parameters on depth of penetration were investigated. Friction stir welding (FSW) is an innovative solid state joining process. This paper discuss about the friction stir welding of joining heat treated aluminum alloys for Aerospace and Automobile industries. These welded joints have higher tensile strength to weight ratio and finer micro structure. FSW of aluminum alloys have the potential to hold good mechanical and metallurgical properties. An attempt is made to determine and evaluate the influence of the process parameters of FSW on the weldments. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of process parameters on the tensile strength of the welded joints.
This paper details the application of Taguchi
techniques to determine the optimal process parameters for
submerged arc welding (SAW).The planned experiment work is
conducted in the semiautomatic submerged arc welding machine
and signal to noise ratios have been computed .the contribution of
each factor has been validated by analysis of variance(ANOVA).
The results of the present investigation indicate that the welding
voltage is the most significant parameter that controls the bead
penetration as compared to other controlling parameters. The
contribution of voltage, current welding speed and nozzle-to-plate
distance have been found to be respectively: 60.8%, 9.86%,
3.54% and 13.8%. Optimum results have been obtained by using
26v, 475A at a trolley speed of 0.25 m/min and NPD of 16 mm.

Control of the operating parameters in FCAW is essential to obtain high production rates and good quality welds. Bead on plate welds were carried out on mild steel plates to study the influence of welding current and arc voltage on weld bead geometry parameters. The weld bead coss-sections were metallographically investigated. The effects of these welding parameters were evaluated by measuring penetration depth, reinforcement height, bead width, wetting angle, electrod deposit area and plate fusion area. The bead cross-section area and the weld shape factor were calculated from the measured results. The effects of welding parameters on weld bead geometry have been presented by histograms. Submerged arc welding process is very important component in many industrial organizations. The research on factors controlling weld bead profile in SAW process is essential to high quality welding procedures. Quality is very important element in today’s manufacturing world. Experiments are conducted using SAW process parameters viz. welding current, arc voltage and welding speed on dissimilar materials of 10 mm thickness to study these parameters on weld bead width and weld bead hardness. The experiments are designed using L8 orthogonal array considering two factors and three levels.

All the welding processes are used with the aim of getting a welded joint with the desires weld bead geometry and excellent mechanical properties with a efficient quality welded joint at a relatively low cost with high productivity. Optimization designs concentrate on only one or two parameters, but in very more depth to gain a precise understanding of relationships between parameters.

The aim of present study is to determine the most significant input parameter such as welding current, arc
voltage and root gap during the Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG) of Mild Steel 1018 grade by Analysis of
Variance (ANOVA). The hardness and tensile strength of weld specimen are investigated in this study. The
selected three input parameters were varied at three levels. On the analogy, nine experiments were performed
based on L9 orthogonal array of Taguchi’s methodology, which consist three input parameters. Root gap has
greatest effect on tensile strength followed by welding current and arc voltage. Arc voltage has greatest effect on
hardness followed by root gap and welding current. Weld metal consists of fine grains of ferrite and pearlite.

This paper proposes the modified Gravitational
search algorithm (GSA) to solve short term multi chain
hydrothermal scheduling problem while satisfying all
operational and physical constraints. The effect of the valve
point loading has been considered. Gravitational search
algorithm is based on the Newton’s law of gravitation. All
objects attract each other and global movement is towards
the heavier masses .However GSA has certain randomness
in search direction resulting in the weak local search ability.
In modified GSA, a time varying maximum velocity equation
is used which controls the exploration and improves the
convergence rate which strengthens its local search ability
and the quality of the hydrothermal solution.

which are obtained are validated with the finite element
analysis software ANSYS APDL. A study is conducted by
considering various materials to obtain optimum material
selection to enhance the better flow of heat from the system.

In this paper, the investigation was made for the utilization
of waste heat in an improvised manner, so that the total
power of the automobile is not going to change and the fuel
efficiency is going to be enhanced. Here the use of vapor
absorption refrigeration system for the air conditioning
system was proposed and analyzed. This system was taken as
it can run on very low grade energy, such as waste heat of
the exhaust gas. The recent trend is to use the vapor
compression refrigeration system, where the principal part is
the compressor, which takes the power from the engine or
from auxiliary power unit and hence the fuel consumption
rate is increased. In the recent global scenario reducing the
fuel consumption is the main research area. The cooling
load of the automobile is estimated about 1.37 TR and the
measured cop value for the proposed model is varied from
0.85 to 1.04.
Here the main problem definition is to design an air
conditioning system which runs on exhaust gas waste heat
by exchanging with the refrigerant R134-a inside a
generator which is the replacement of the compressor in a
vapor absorption refrigeration system. The calculation
related to the design of proposed shell and tube heat
exchanger i.e. the generator for the model is carried out and
the rest design is theoretical study and proposed model to be
implemented in large scale after prototype model testing.

it. In some side areas, these systems emerged very rapidly.
There are many companies which purchase software instead
of developing it .These companies do not have any interst in
the testing of the system but wants to like smoothness in the
flow of the system during changes.
Changeability is one of the characteristics of maintainability.
Software changeability is associated with refactoring which
makes code simpler and easier to maintain (enable all
programmers to improve their code).Factors that affect
changeability include coupling between the modules, lack of
code comments, naming of functions and variables.
Basically,”changeabilty” is the ability of a product or software
to be able to change the structure of the program. It is the rate
the product allows the modification to its components.
In this paper changeability based cost estimation is done.
Initially we take four components; these components are
evaluated based on the coupling, cohesion and Interface
metrix. Next some changes are made to the existing
components and than again these components are evaluated.
Now, on the basis of these two evaluations some conclusion is
made for changeability cost.

Adaptive Source Provision System (ASPS) for
Proficient Freight Complementary in WiMAX
Network
Today in the wireless network field, WiMAX
(Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave access) has
emerged out as one of the promising networking
technologies. In order to compete with the existing wireless
technologies like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15),
WiMAX has to promise cost efficiency and better quality of
service (QoS). The Adaptive source provision system is
proposed to control traffic rate and ensure load balancing in
the WiMAX network. The proposed approach considers
relay station in the network. When there is an arrival of new
users in the network, its data rate is computed and then
compared with the data rate of RS. When the data rate of
new user is less than that of RS, then the data rate of the
corresponding base station is compared. The connections
are switched from congested stations to non-congested
stations to minimize network load. The handover mechanism
is used by BSs for optimally balancing the traffic load within
the network. LB-based handover mechanism guarantee
user’s QoS and evenly distributes the traffic load. The
experimental analysis showed that the proposed method
achieves better traffic management and load balancing
when compared with the existing approaches.
