Ideology
• A system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or
political theory and policy.
• In other words, Ideology is the science of ideas, the study of their origin and nature.
• For example,
1) Newspapers often promote the dominant ideology of patriotism through their
representation of race and nationality.
Some Dominant Ideologies:
• Capitalism: The production of capital and consumption of surplus value as a life
goal.
• Patriotism: To love, support and protect one’s country and its people.
• Marriage and Family: The “right way” to live is to marry an opposite sex partner
and have children.
• Male superiority: Men are more suited to positionsof power, and more suited to
decision making at work and at home.
• Sex before marriage is considered bad.
Political Ideology
• A political ideology is a certain ethical set of ideals,
principles, doctrines, myths or symbols of a social movement, institution, class, and/or
large group that explains how society should work, and offers some political and
cultural blueprint for a certain social order.
• Some parties follow a certain ideology very closely, while others may take broad
inspiration from a group of related ideologies without specifically embracing any one
of them.
Ideology of B.J.P
• The official ideology of the BJP is "integral humanism", first formulated
by Deen Dayal Upadhayay in 1965. The party expresses a commitment
to Hindutva, and its policy has historically reflected Hindu
nationalist positions. The BJP advocates social conservatism and a foreign
policy centered on nationalist principles. Its key issues have included the
abrogation of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the building of
a Ram temple in Ayodhya and the implementation of a uniform civil code.
Some more examples of

Titanic
'Titanic' is an American disaster and romance movie that released at the
year 1997. This movie was directed and written by James Cameron.
'Titanic' was a commercial success and enormous critical after screened
to audiences worldwide. This movie maintains the record of the top of
box office in the world until the release of James Cameron's movie -
'Avatar'.
• The film Titanic presents dominant ideology as it appeals to many audiences. The main
target audience was young and old white eccentric te males and females of a middle
class/upper class background. However because of storyline involving a poor boy from a
working class background falling in love with a rich upper-class women and their
struggles during this journey, it has appealed to many more audiences like working class
people. Other then the fact that it was a huge blockbuster hit in the western world, the
movie ratings where equally high all over Asia. This may be because the movie explores
the difficulties of being from a different class and wanting to be with someone of another
class, this is a huge issue in Asia especially countries like India where they have the
“caste” system and if you associate with people from a lower class it degrades your
reputation and brings “shame” to your family. In titanic Jack and Rose are lovers and they
break this tradition as they come closer together. It appeals to a young audience because of
the characters who are young and they represent “young love” meaning love is possible
even when you are young. It also appeals to an older audience as rose from the
beginning is seen as an old women telling her tale of how she loved and lost and many
old people can relate to this.
Conclusion
• Ideologies are important as the heart of the society, since ideology, no matter
what kind, is leading the society to something useful, not like in liberal
democratic modern society, where every person is all by him self.
• Ideology helps the country and the society lead them towards something
better, as we humans always want to live better, only sometimes we need to
take a strict measures to achieve something.
Conclusion
• Ideology brings an educating example how to lead or educate the society,
otherwise, the society will split and will not be able to deal with all global
problems that it has.
• No one can survive independent, like it or not, that is what makes our
biggest problems - when we live independent from each other, we start to
miss understand each other, and then more likely we start wars or arguments
and everyone makes his own ideology that brings us in ''cold war''.
