Party is since May 2013.

KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
ELECTIONS 1994
 Took place in all 224 constituencies in 2 phases in Karnataka,
India.
 Elections conducted to select Govt. For next 5 years.
 The Janata Dal emerged victorious winning 115 seats.
KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
ELECTIONS 1999
 The Indian National Congress: majority winning 132 seats.
 The National Democratic Alliance: Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal
(United) (second winning only 63 seats).
 The Janata Dal (Secular): former prime minister Deve Gowda
(won only 10 seats).
 The Janata Dal collapsed in mid-1999 : reason split in theJanata Dal.
 Former prime minister Deve gowda and the deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah
joined the Janata dal (secular) faction.
 S.M. Krishna of the Congress was sworn in as Chief minister on 11 October
1999.
KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
ELECTIONS 2004
 None of the parties were able to win a majority.
 Bharatiya Janata Party: 79 seats.
 Indian National Congress: 65 members
 Janata Dal (Secular): 58 members
 formed a coalition to run the government with Dharam
Singh as the chief minister.
 This was the first ever coalition government in the state.
KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
ELECTIONS 2008
 The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious
winning 110 seats.
 Falling short of majority still won with the support
of 6 independents.
 This was the first time BJP came to power on its own
in Karnataka and in any south Indian state.

ELECTIONS 2013
 Five major political parties contested the election:
1) Indian National Congress (INC)
2) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
3) Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S))
4) Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP)
5) Badagara Shramika Raitala Congress Party (BSRCP).
 The INC under the leadership of the erstwhile Janata Parivar
leader Siddaramaiah won the election: majority of 122 seats (including the
Piriyapatna seat)
 INC returned to power on its own after nine years.

  • 5. KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 1994  Took place in all 224 constituencies in 2 phases in Karnataka, India.  Elections conducted to select Govt. For next 5 years.  The Janata Dal emerged victorious winning 115 seats.

KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 1999  The Indian National Congress: majority winning 132 seats.  The National Democratic Alliance: Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) (second winning only 63 seats).  The Janata Dal (Secular): former prime minister Deve Gowda (won only 10 seats).  The Janata Dal collapsed in mid-1999 : reason split in theJanata Dal.  Former prime minister Deve gowda and the deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah joined the Janata dal (secular) faction.  S.M. Krishna of the Congress was sworn in as Chief minister on 11 October 1999.

KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 2004  None of the parties were able to win a majority.  Bharatiya Janata Party: 79 seats.  Indian National Congress: 65 members  Janata Dal (Secular): 58 members  formed a coalition to run the government with Dharam Singh as the chief minister.  This was the first ever coalition government in the state.
  • 8. KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 2008  The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious winning 110 seats.  Falling short of majority still won with the support of 6 independents.  This was the first time BJP came to power on its own in Karnataka and in any south Indian state.

KARNATAKA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 2013  Five major political parties contested the election: 1) Indian National Congress (INC) 2) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 3) Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) 4) Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) 5) Badagara Shramika Raitala Congress Party (BSRCP).  The INC under the leadership of the erstwhile Janata Parivar leader Siddaramaiah won the election: majority of 122 seats (including the Piriyapatna seat)  INC returned to power on its own after nine years.
