Gen 3 a Serpent preaches how to be like God.
2Pet 2:16 Balaam’s “dumb” ass spoke with the
voice of man.
Ps 148:10 beast, cattle, creeping things and
fowl are instructed to praise the LORD.
I. ELEMENTARY ENCOUNTER
Fish and Sheep
A.Fish
Once saved don’t forget there are more fish in the
sea just like you used to be.
John 21:6 Jesus tells the disciples to cast their nets
on the right side; and there was such a multitude in
their net they couldn’t pull it in-
A redneck was stopped by a game warden just north of Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland
recently withtwo ice chests of fish.
The game warden asked the man, "Do youhave a license to catch those fish?"
"Naw, my friend, I ain't got no license. These are my pet fish."
2. 2
"Petfish?"
"Yep. Every night I take these fish down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for a while.
Then I whistle and they jump right back into this ice chest and I take 'em home."
"That's a bunch of hooey!Fish can'tdo that!"
The redneck looked at the game warden for a moment and then said, "It's the truth. I'll
show you.It really works."
"Okay,I'veGOTto see this!"
The redneck poured the fish into the river and stood and waited. After several minutes,
the game warden turned to him and said, "Well?"
"Well, whut?"said the redneck.
"When are yougoing to call them back?"
"Call who back?"
"The FISH!"
"What fish?"
Don’t ignore the fish there is a multitude if you
are looking.
Don’t imitate the fish-convert him.
Gen 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you
shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon
every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the
earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your
hand are they delivered.
3. 3
Matt 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and
I will make you fishers of men.
Following is first, fishing is second.
Matt 7:9-11 9 Or what man is there of you, whom
if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good
gifts unto your children, how much more shall your
Father which is in heaven give good things to them
that ask him?
Ask God for a fish.
Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye
after me, and I will make you to become fishers of
men.
“become” -fishing requires practice.
John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus
loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when
Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his
fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did
cast himself into the sea.
There is need to dress for the job.
4. 4
B.Sheep
Sheep tend to be where they shouldn’t be.
Matt 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the
house of Israel.
Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her
torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city
Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy
judgment come. Vs 13
Rev 18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and
ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil,
and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep,
and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of
men.
Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much
people, and was moved with compassion toward
them, because they were as sheep not having a
shepherd: and he began to teach them many
things.
Sheep need education- teach them.
John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith
to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou
me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea,
Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto
him, Feed my lambs.
5. 5
John 21:16-17 16 He saith to him again the
second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou
me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest
that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my
sheep.
17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son
of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved
because he said unto him the third time, Lovest
thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou
knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.
Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Teach 1 lamb to 2 sheep (some will always be
a lamb don’t waste too much time on them
but don’t ignore them either.
Matt 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the
midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents,
and harmless as doves.
Even a sheep can discern the danger of a wolf
II. ENLIGHTENED ENCOUNTER
Hogs, Dogs/ & Oxen
6. 6
A.Hogs and Dogs
False teachers (male/dog, female/sow).
2Pet 2:1 But there were false prophets also among
the people, even as there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall bring in damnable
heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction. Vs 22
2Pet 2:22 But it is happened unto them according
to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own
vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her
wallowing in the mire.
Matt 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs,
neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they
trample them under their feet, and turn again and
rend you.
Reserve your advice based on the hog or dog’s
response.
Matt 8:31-32 31 So the devils besought him,
saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into
the herd of swine.
32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were
come out, they went into the herd of swine: and,
behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down
a steep place into the sea, and perished in the
waters.
7. 7
Devils are at home with the pig, but may not
always be present.
B.Oxen
Ox is made to work
Job 1:14 And there came a messenger unto Job,
and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses
feeding beside them:
1Tim 5:17-18 17 Let the elders that rule well be
counted worthy of double honour, especially they
who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the
scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that
treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy
of his reward.
Ox labors in word, and doctrine
1Cor 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou
shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth
out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
Ox (treads the corn, not bakes it)
Isa 1:3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his
master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people
doth not consider.
8. 8
Ox identifies the source not just the supply of
blessing
Deut 22:10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an
ass together.
Birds of a feather
III. EVIL ENCOUNTER
Fowls
In the Bible, flying insects and birds are pictures of
unclean spirits:
1. Compare Matt. 13:4 and Matt. 13:19 and you will
see that “the wicked one is likened to a fowl.
Matt 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by
the way side, and the fowls came and devoured
them up:
Matt 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the
kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh
the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was
sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by
the way side.
9. 9
2. Compare Mark 4:4 and Mark 4:15, the same story,
Satan is likened to “the fowls of the air.”
Mark 4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some
fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came
and devoured it up.
Mark 4:15 And these are they by the way side,
where the word is sown; but when they have heard,
Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the
word that was sown in their hearts.
3. Compare Mark 5:15,16,18 and Mark 5:9,12 and
you will see that the man is possessed by “THE
devil” (singular), but there were “many” unclean
spirits in him called “devils,” never “demons.”
Mark 5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him
that was possessed with the devil, and had the
legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind:
and they were afraid.
Mark 5:16 And they that saw it told them how it
befell to him that was possessed with the devil,
and also concerning the swine.
Mark 5:18 And when he was come into the ship, he
that had been possessed with the devil prayed him
that he might be with him.
10. 10
Mark 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name?
And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for
we are many.
Mark 5:12 And all the devils besought him, saying,
Send us into the swine, that we may enter into
them.
The Bible never uses the word “demon.” Therefore,
there is one devil that is made up of many unclean
spirits called“devils.” The Bible does not say that
there is one devil and many “devils” (unclean
spirits). When a person has an unclean spirit, then
he is filled with “the devil.” (Acts 5:3)
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan
filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to
keep back part of the price of the land?
4. Isaiah 34:8-17 lists several unclean birds as
inhabitants of this lake of fire.
5. Rev. 18:2 has the fouls spirits and unclean birds
together in the same place and verse.
11. 11
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice,
saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is
become the habitation of devils, and the hold of
every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and
hateful bird.
6. Eccl. 10:18-20 says that a “bird of the air” will
carry the thing you said in secret and tell that thing.
Eccl 10:18-20 18 By much slothfulness the
building decayeth; and through idleness of the
hands the house droppeth through.
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh
merry: but money answereth all things.
20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and
curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of
the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath
wings shall tell the matter.
7. Matt. 3:16 shows the Holy Spirit in the form of a
clean, pure, white dove.
Matt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went
up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the
heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the
Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting
upon him:
12. 12
8. Heb 13:1-2 shows unknown visitors from the
spirit world do manifest in this one.
Heb 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:
for thereby some have entertained angels
unawares.
—As Abraham (Gen. 18:2-22); Lot (Gen. 19:1-2);
Manoah (Jdg. 13:2-14); Gideon (Jdg. 4:11-20).
9. John 8:44; 1John 4:1 “Reason” does not contradict
written truth.
1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God: because many
false prophets are gone out into the world.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer
from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he
speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is
a liar, and the father of it.
1Pet 5:8
8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom
he may devour:
