Matt 4
18 And Jesus, walkingby the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called
Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were
fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of
men.

Matt 13
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the
sea, and gatheredof every kind:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered
the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and
sever the wicked from among the just,
Luke 5
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the
deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were
partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from
henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Jesus stresses the way to win men is to use a “net” properly .

2. I. Wash it
Luke 5
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the
word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 And saw two ships standingby the lake: but the fishermen were gone out
of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him
that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught
the people out of the ship.
a) (Wash it) In the word
Ps 114:7-8 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presenceof the Lord, at the
presenceof the God of Jacob;
8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of
waters.
1Cor 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him
shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a
well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Be the example of what the sinner is missing.
If you are not excited aboutthe power of the Word of God why
would a lost man be enticed by it?

3. 1Thess 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing,
because, when ye receivedthe word of God which ye heard of us, ye
received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of
God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
Your approach is only as useful as your fellowship with the fountain of living
water.
b) Wash it (In the word) In tears
2Kgs 20:5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith
the LORD, the God of David thy father, I haveheard thy prayer, I have seenthy
tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house
of the LORD.
Ps 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: putthou my tears into thy bottle: are they
not in thy book?
Ps 119:136 Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep
not thy law.
Ps 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reapin joy.
Jer 9:1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I
might weepday and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
Jer 31:16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice fromweeping, and thine eyes
fromtears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall
come again fromthe land of the enemy.
Ps 6:8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath
heard the voice of my weeping.

4. 1Cor 5:1-2 1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among
you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the
Gentiles,that one shouldhave his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that
hath done this deed might be taken awayfrom among you.
Mal 2:13 And this haveye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with
tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuchthat he regardethnot the
offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.
II. (Wash it) Mendit
Gal.6:7 … “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
But in my line of work whatever I rip I must sew.

5. 12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the
Gentiles:but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself,
fearingthem which were of the circumcision.
13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that
Barnabas alsowas carriedaway with their dissimulation.
14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the
truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a
Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why
compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
III. (Wash it, Mendit) Move it
John 21
5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered
him, No.
6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and
ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it
for the multitude of fishes.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come
upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and
in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the
earth.
Rom 15:21-24 21 But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken
of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
22 For which cause also I have been much hinderedfrom coming to
you.
23 But now having no more place in these parts, and havinga
great desire these many years to come unto you;

6. 24 Whensoever I take my journeyinto Spain, I will come to you: for I
trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way
thitherwardby you, if first I be somewhatfilled with your company.
