1. No Room in the Inn
Text: Luke 2:6-7
6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were
accomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped
him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.
Gen 42:27 And as one of them opened his sack to
give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his
money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth.
Exod 4:24-25 24 And it came to pass by the way in
the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill
him. 25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off
the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and
said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
Luke 10:33-35 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he
journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him,
he had compassion on him,

2. 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds,
pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast,
and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took
out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said
unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou
spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
An Inn that has no room for Jesus is no longer a hostel
but has become hostile.
…laid him in a manger; because there was no room for
them in the inn.
John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea,
the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that
he doeth God service.
John 16:6 But because I have said these things unto you,
sorrow hath filled your heart.
John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye
cannot bear them now.

But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before
the LORD exceedingly.

Amos 9:10 All the sinners of my people shall die by
the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor
prevent us.

4. Matt 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I
will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not
come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
1Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to
save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your

II. No Room for Jesus in the excuse of Inn-
ocency
Gen 20:5
Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she
herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart
and innocency of my hands have I done this.

John 15:22-23 22 If I had not come and spoken
unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have
no cloke for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

5. Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without
excuse:
Rom 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man,
whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou
judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou
that judgest doest the same things.
1Pet 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a
cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
III. No Room for Jesus at the P-Inn-acle of
man’s achievement

asking meat for their lust.

7. IV. No Room for Jesus in the Inn-er prison of

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they
cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into
the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
