The brief said the main goal is getting people to contact
their MP. On their website they have detailed information
about the need for a new Environment Act. This is
supported by facts and figures. The website also tells people
what to do when contacting their MP and gives a total
number of people who have done this. I think this is aimed
at people who will make time to go to the website and
already have a good understanding of environmental issues.
I think in order to encourage more people to do this who
are not already keen environmentalists is to create
awareness. So I think I'm going to make a short film and link
it to some promotional posters which they can put on their
social media and websites to raise awareness.
Show people the YWT exists and how it affects them. People can be quite self centered, and so if something
doesn’t affect them its not their problem. People like to know what’s in it for me? Preserving the
environment affects us all and we need to show them that.
For people who don’t have a lot of time we don’t need just adverts on TV or media we need short adverts
which are impactful and not time-consuming which people see in their everyday lives (shopping). I’m just
one person what can I do, show people they are more powerful and influential than they think.
In all ideas I need to get people to contact their MP. I think I should include a draft of a letter they should
send. this is because if they aren't passionate about wildlife they either won’t bother to try to write a letter
or the letter will be bad or vague and not convince the MP to support a new environment act.

Advert idea: Use a metaphor of a broken glass to
demonstrate the destruction of nature.
This idea gives people a time frame, we are running out of
time to save the planet and when it’s too late there is
nothing we can do. A time limit usually encourages people
to act quicker instead of ‘I’ll just do it tomorrow’ and then
never do it because what if there is no tomorrow.
This advert covers a big subject which could be
overwhelming and people could think they can’t do
anything to stop it so at the end or the advert they show
they can fix the problem by the small step of contacting
their MP.

I also need to show that people are affected by it as well or
they may be less motivated to help.

the circle of life but we are included. if bees go
extinct then crops die then less food for
livestock or us leads to hunger and then no
livestock then we all die.
The circle of life if often shown as one circle
but the environment is like a series of cogs.

destroyed the cogs get slower, break and
eventfully stop.
Everything is linked and once its broken in an
area it cant come back without re-
introduction.

7. Idea Evaluation
I don’t think any of my ideas are bad but I feel some of them may be a bit
ambitious comparing the amount of work I would need to do and the time I have
to do it. I like the idea of interviewing people as I think it would be the best to
meet the client needs. It would be relatable so people will listen, understand and
engage with it, instead of watching an environmental specialist talk about issues
they don’t understand, while also being informative and helpful for people,
directing them to the wildlife website for more information. This idea is also good
because of the range of people I can interview so it can be aimed at all ages,
personality’s and situations.
I also like the idea of kinetic typography, but instead of using letters would use
images. I think including the idea of time in this work will make people more
motivated to take action if they are on the clock. Also i have a lot of other ideas
which i could include. These ideas are a mix of secondary and primary research
and ideas. I think i would enjoy creating this work but again, i have t keep in mind
how much time i have. Also i dont think this is the best option for meeting the
clients requirements.

At the stat of the video there will be a badger dressed as a detective explaing explain nature.
animated people sitting in the same spot on onw chair, and an animated abadger will be
intrviewing them. at this point you will only see the badgers hand. It will be in a friendly laid
back style of people just talking, ordinary people so it is more relatable to people.

Interviewing people in the street and making lots of small animations of them
talking.
So the issues shown need to be local? Not ice caps. makes it manageable and
believable. must make is sound significant so it is not overlooked.
want people to engage with the campaign not just do better for environment.
people with time. Elders but want family's to be involved too. so if I interview
actual people on the streets and use their audio it will be the most relatable
things. I think I will be surprised about how little people know about the
environment. I am always conscious about littering and taking the car but to
others they don’t care.
aim at familys because they cinclude all ages. cant make advert too depressing.
needs to show cute and pretty nature but needs to show there is an issue…

missing out on.

Kinetic typography but in the style of a simple
animation. Kinetic typography can be too bold and
isn’t very representative of nature so I want to make
something but instead of kinetic words its kinetic
images. Similar to this -

I think this is more appropriate for a nature topic
because this is a nice flow to it and there is loads of
possibility's for how it will work and how it will flow.
How achievable will this actually be? this will
probably be a bit too complicated for Photoshop.

This is an experiment which I did on
Photoshop to see if it would be a
manageable task. This took me about 10
minutes but it doesn't have any detail an
only lasts around one second. To plan
the movement of an entire video and
then following it through with detailed
drawings would take a long time. I would
also need to record audio of someone
talking over it and fit the movement
around the audio.

This only applies to things that can be replaced. If the
microwave breaks you go get a new one. Where are you going
to get a new earth from? Tesco? This is the most unique planet
we have found, there is no other place like it. people talk
about moving to mars when we pushed the earth to the brink,
and all I have to say is, are you serious? is that how you want
to live? mars has no trees, no animals, no… ... .... .
People see it as us and them but its not. We are all together.
And we are all apart.
if I said British wildlife what would you think? foxes, rabbits,
bluetits, squirrels, but there is so much more to British wildlife
then this. we have bats, snakes, deer, basking sharks,
dragonfly's, whales, seals, dolphins. People put all these
animals in the same boat, putting together bats and rabbits as
having the same issues. they're all just animals. but that’s not
true. they are all different, they have different… ... ... all of
these different spesies. and us, the humans, we’re just
another spiesies.
People see their pets as part of the family. Why not the
squirrel in the garden. On a idea we are all in the same boat,
but we are the only ones who can do anything about it.
Its not just animals. Trees.
We breathe the air they create
They clean out pollution and carbon, They store and purify
water, They give us food and medicine which cures out
diseases, And we are cutting them down.

The meaning of progress.
Building and roads is progress. The way I see it were
moving backwards. Evolution in reverse, if we were
smarter we would priorities the thing that keeps us alive.
Deny it all you want but truth can’t be avoided. There is
no reset button, no way to go back in time, believe me if I
could I would.
This is our home. like your bedroom, it may get a little
messy but you always have to tidy it.
the earth is doomed. I know. people don’t listen. then
make them. don’t just accept this is the earth's fate. don’t
just accept this is your fate.
I hear protest for equality.
Racism, feminism, poverty, gay rights but what about the
earth. what about the animals. what about the trees.
don’t they deserve to be treated equally because in the
end we will all be equally at fault. the earth gives us so
much. everything it has. and we take it for granted.
I know what your thinking. I'm just one person, what can I
do? your wrong. true the big people get to make all the
decisions. but the true power lies with us. they want to
stay in power. and the way they do that is by pleasing the
people. if we keep asking for more money, more houses
that is what they will give us. so contact your MP now.
right now. and tell them how you feel about this earth.

12. Assessment of final ideas
The idea I have chosen is idea 2. interviewing people and animating over their voice. I chose this
idea because I feel it is the most suitable for this project and I feel it meets the clients needs best.
My brief was I need to create an engaging piece of work that will encourage people of all ages to be
more engaged with wildlife, what it means to them and get them involved in the campaign to send
their own written or video messages to their MP to ask them to work towards the strongest
possible environmental laws to protect our wild places.
I want people to engage with the campaign not just do better for environment. people with time.
Elders but want family's to be involved too. I have fulfilled this brief because this will be an engaging
piece f work because I interview actual people on the streets and use their audio it will be the most
relatable things. I think I will be surprised about how little people know about the environment. I
am always conscious about littering and taking the car but to others they don’t care. This also
means the issues shown will most likely be local making them manageable and believable but also
as other people are talking it will sound significant so it is not overlooked. Mostly aim at family's
because they include all ages. My videos will be drawings of lots of people, varying in age, race and
opinion so my work will appeal to a lot of people. I am going to draw the people inside and outside
the windows there is nature which they are missing out on.
I think this project will be manageable in the time I have. My only concern is not having the same
facilities at home as I do in college so that limits my time and means I will have to plan out what I
can doing I college and what I can do at home.
