Drew Houston founded Dropbox in 2007 after forgetting his USB drive at MIT. He secured seed funding from Y Combinator and acquired the domain "dropbox.com" in 2009. In 2011, Houston explained that a demo video impressed Arash Ferdowsi, who then partnered with Houston. Dropbox offers flexible storage plans, file recovery, team management tools, link permissions, paper for collaboration, smart sync, admin controls, account tools, groups, device wiping, and integrations. Users can access Dropbox on the web or desktop, create accounts, share folders, upload files, and give others edit access.
