This paper discusses the security issues in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs), highlighting the need for specialized routing protocols due to the dynamic nature of these networks. It details various security threats, including attacks at the network layer and vulnerabilities in existing routing protocols, while emphasizing the importance of authentication and integrity mechanisms. Countermeasures such as secure routing protocols and intrusion detection systems are proposed to mitigate these threats and enhance the overall security of MANETs.
