Former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela believes Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world. Mandela belief that education can change the world is still a
dream. Education can prove to tackle the current issues across the world. Great leaders like Nelson
Mandela, Gandhi
Martin Luther King have always stressed on this matter. Education can help people
Improve their social economic standards by creating more job opportunities. Give a
Man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. The above
proverb clearly sums up what knowledge can help people achieve. I believe that if all people has an
education, they have a knowledge and understanding of what is happening to the world, they knew
what is the advantages and disadvantages of the decision they make, they will have a self discipline
and concern to others and the results of this we will have a wonderful world to live with.
To quote Nelson Mandela, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, Education is the knowledge and development
resulting from an educational process. It also prepares one for the ability of reasoning and judging,
readying one to face the world . It s the foundation of developing one s mind and intellectual
capability, without it, it is difficult to advance in

Columbian Exchange Essay
The Columbian Exchange is about exchanging goods from the New World to the Old World and vise
versa. During the Columbian Exchange, Europeans brought food, animals, technology, and also
diseases to the New World. The New World had many great qualities such as farming land for crops
and large vast of land for animals to roam freely and also to reproduce.
The diseases that were brought over to the New World , includes Syphilis, Polio, Hepatitis,
Encephalitis, and many other types of illnesses brought by the European. This had a great effect on the
Indian population, the Indians started to contract the disease that the European had brought over and it

When the Columbian Exchange didn t happen yet many of the Native Americans had to do all of the
labor by themselves without any use of animals. After the Columbian Exchange, Columbus brought
over horses, dogs, cattle, goats, and chicken and it provided the Natives with a new source of labor
and also with a new source of food. Many of these animals carried diseases and humans were dying.
Those diseases that the animals carried with them came to the New World. Cattle were very profitable
because you could eat their meat and also use their hides as a blanket. The cattle hides were then
shipped back to Europe to be sold as well as the meat. Cattle have a downfall because they were
destroying Native American crops by eating them or by just simply stepping on them. Black rats
carried bubonic plague and typhus; the black rats came from the Old World to the New World and that
plague spread to the colonist. The plague also killed off some of the smaller animals that belong to the
Native Americans. Horses also land a great impact in the new world for Europeans; they used horses
to scare the Native Americans because the natives didn t know what a horse was and what they do.
Horses have lots of power and compared to the other animals the horses are much faster and have a
bolder look and that is why the Natives are so frightened of

Noah s Ark Compare And Contrast
The Biblical story of Noah s Ark is one that most people have heard. The story of Noah starts with
God commanding Noah to build an Ark. God saw the evil in the world and decided to destroy man
and everything on earth with a great flood. Noah builds an Ark for his family and two of every animal
on board. Once the ark is complete, God then sent a flood and everything on earth was destroyed
except for Noah, his family and the animals. Noah sent out a dove to see if the water had receded and,
when the dove came back, it had an olive branch and Noah knew it was safe. God then told Noah that
he would never destroy the earth again with a flood. A rainbow appeared in the sky as a sign of God s
promise. Noah and his family exited the Ark and worshiped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First are the rock creatures in the movie that most people will not be able to accept. Another issue is
that only one of Noah s sons had a wife, so how were they to go out to be fruitful and multiply. One
other issue that I found confusing was the snakeskin that Noah wrapped around his arm. Supposedly,
this was the skin of the serpent that tempted Eve and Adam into eating the forbidden fruit. It seems
like this image should represent evil. Also, in the movie God is always referred to as the Creator. It is
true that God is the creator and this is an appropriate way to identify him, but God s name was not
used throughout the movie. Everyone has opinions and views that are different. It also depends on
how well the audience knows the Biblical story of Noah. The Bible inspired the movie, but this
inspiration only goes so far. The basic themes of the movie that relates to the Bible story are that Noah
built an ark, saved two of each animal and that a great flood came and destroyed everything on earth.
Everything in between is an interpretation by Ari Handel and Darren Aronofsky. No one alive today
was there with Noah helping to build the ark; all we have is the Bible, which I believe is a true
account of the story. The movie does provoke controversy and will move people to share and debate
their views on what they believe. Christians stand on faith, not Hollywood s make believe. So, as to
how the audience will be

Wizard Of Oz Analyse
Conor I thought the Wizard of Oz was a bright and colorful moving. Being a movie that was
transitioning from a black film to color it really emphasized every single color imaginable. All the
colors remind of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Candyland. I like how Emerald city stayed true
to one color to make it unique which was green. It really conveyed to the audience why it was called
Emerald City just of its color scheme alone. I felt bad for the tin man because all that makeup must of
been hard to wear? I loved the color scheme that the wicked Witch of the West had. The dark green
paint on her face and mole really captured the essence of evil. Dorothy really annoyed me in the
movie. Her accent was just awful, and she spoke like a little

Iron Deficiency Anemia
Iron deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia, a condition in which blood lacks adequate
healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body s tissues. As the name implies, iron
deficiency anemia is due to insufficient iron.
The cause of iron deficiency anemia is diet, if you don t eat enough foods high in iron, inability to
absorb iron, Crohn s disease may cause low iron levels, growth spurts, children younger than 3 years
of age grow so fast that their bodies may have a hard time keeping up with the amount of iron they
need, pregnancy, women who are breastfeeding need more iron than women who are not pregnant or
breastfeeding, blood loss, and genetic disease such as sickle cell disease.

Treatments that are associated with iron deficiency anemia depends on what s causing your anemia. If
anemia is caused from losing too much blood, your doctor will need to treat the cause of the blood
loss. If anemia results from your diet being too low in iron, the doctor may recommend a change in
your diet or iron pills. Managing the condition that is causing the anemia is the most important part of
treating it. If anemia is very bad, you might get shots of erythropoietin to help your bone marrow
make more red blood cells.
Nursing interventions: monitor vital signs and oxygen saturation, monitoring lab results, encourage
balance between activities in the day, dietary education and lifestyle changes, make sure patient has
small frequent meals during the day, educate patient on how to take iron supplements and other

Strict Laws In The Chrysalids
In the novel The Chrysalids by John Wyndham, the readers are introduced to traditions and strict
social agreements in Waknuk which lead to unfortunate destructions of their people. The Waknukians
only accept those who resemble God s image, which is a human without deformities unlike Sophie,
who has six toes; the blind acceptance of traditions leads to the ruination of the Waknuk society of The
Chrysalids. Due to strict laws, everyone is intensely devout in their religious beliefs and follows
exactly what is expected, however these strict laws cause more hatred, pain and prejudice. Moreover,
blindly accepting traditions leads to human destruction of freedom, self expression and ultimately
growth. Furthermore, human conquest and mental control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stripping the ability to have children is strong example of dehumanizing people with deformities, for
giving them unfair rights. Furthermore, along with many, people who are deviations are jealous of the
lives of those who normal since they can marry and have children. Spider man is jealous that norms
can have children and not the Fringe people, when he was young, David prayed that he becomes a
norm and lose his special abilities. As well as Anne, she is jealous that norms have the opportunity to
lead normal lives by marrying and having children. Spider man gets vengeful and kills his own brother
out of jealousy. This manifests that fringes people are not satisfied with their lives and the rules for
deviations are not fair since they want to have a family, although rules are rules. The fringes should
not be living a life of jealousy, they should have the freedom to do what they want. Moreover, people
in the fringes really want to have children, but they can not so they try to get with norms in order to
produce, evidently deviations are stripped the ability to have children. On the other hand, when Sophie
talks to David in the Fringes she says that she loves Gordon and would have children with him if she
could. Gordon is in a relationship with Sophie but wants children with Rosalind since she is able to
reproduce. This proves that people have little respect for deviations, and Sophie is heartbroken by the
fact Gordon wants Rosalind and resents Sophie for what she has been doomed to

Freight Rate Management and Shareholder Value
The shipping markets have been among the most active among markets over the last couple of years.
This significant growth in shipping markets has been influenced by changes in import policies,
globalization and changing freight rates. Globalization and changes in the import policies across states
and continents have positively influenced the growth of the shipping markets, with marginalized and
developing countries having an opportunity to venture into the global arena.
Freight rates are however proportionate to growth of shipping markets and their contribution to the
development of shipping markets has been influenced by several factors, some of which lead to
negative growth and increase the shipping risks that freight companies are ... Show more content on

To avoid the risks associated with fluctuating freight rates and volatility as witnessed over the last
couple of years, companies must ensure that they consider hedging. Hedging helps in controlling the
cash inflow and outflow as dictated by both internal and external parameters (Kavussanos Visvikis
2006). Operating costs, which is affected by among other things bunker prices, should be addressed
through hedging to ensure that companies maximize their profits and that the share prices remain
competitive and profitable.
Being registered in the London Stock Exchange, Hellenic Company has witnessed a significant
reduction in its share prices, mainly due to changes in the freight rates. The charges associated with
transporting gods and commodities from one region to another have been affected by among other
things, competition, bunker prices and inflation. The companies in the shipping business have to adopt
many strategies to minimize the risks associated with freight services (Schwartz Smith 2000). Change
in technology and services would influence management of cash inflows and outflows as it would
influence change in freight rates and hence maximize profits.
Volatility
Shipping companies have experienced volatility over the last couple of years due to inflation, change
in market demand of certain goods and competition due to an increase in the number of companies in
the shipping

Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, Power Relationships...
Introduction This essay explores how unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) are oppressed
in the UK. An unaccompanied asylum seeking child is a person under the age of eighteen who has left
their country of origin in order to seek refuge and is separated from both parents and are not being
cared for by an adult who, by law or custom has responsibility to do so (UNHCR, 1994:121). They are
therefore applying for asylum in their own right. Discrimination is the process of identifying that
someone is different and, due to this difference, treating them unfairly (Thompson, 2006). Xenoracism
is discrimination that is aimed at people specifically because they are from a different country, and are
therefore strangers (Sivanandan, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Power is the capacity to act in such a way as to control others (Harris, 1997:28). He argues that
everyone has at least some power, and that this power, for the relatively powerless, can be used to
influence the decisions of the dominant group. Unaccompanied asylum seeking children not disclosing
information can be seen as them exercising the little power they have. This can however have a
negative impact on their lives in the UK, for example, being placed under section 17 of the Children
Act instead of under section 20, which would offer the child more support. Foucault (1977) uses
discourse to relate to how language can be used to construct ideas and thoughts about groups.
Discourses and language can therefore help construct or reduce oppression (Thompson, 2006). If a
group has power, they have the ability and opportunity to fulfil or obstruct personal, relational, or
collective needs (Prilleltensky, 2008). If the dominant discourse of a less powerful group is positive,
the group with power may help that group fulfil their needs. If the dominant discourse of a less
powerful group is negative, such as with UASC, the powerful group may obstruct them in fulfilling
their needs, and therefore will cause oppression. Innes (2010) argues that the negative discourse of
asylum seekers as a threat to British society is portrayed in government literature

The Murray Darling Basin s Natural Environment
Introduction
The Murray Darling Basin is Australia s most iconic and largest river system, covering over 1,000,000
square kilometres, which is 14% of the total area of Australia. It extends from the bottom of
Queensland to South Australia. The Basin is the catchment area for the Murray Darling River located
in the interior of South eastern Australia.
Many of the Basin s natural resources are of high environmental value. It is one of the most significant
agricultural areas in Australia, as it accounts for around $4.8 billion (39% of the national income
derived from agricultural production) of Australia s agricultural output and producing over one third
of Australia s food supply, making it not only of crucial importance to the region, but to the entire
nation. Also, more than 3 million people directly depend on the Basin s water resources.
The Murray Darling Basin s natural environment is continuing to be under threat from natural and
human activities and their consequences. An example of a human activity affecting the Basin is river
regulations and storage. It is recognised as one of the most serious environmental issues in the Basin.
River regulations and storage issues brings enormous strain to the Basin s agricultural communities,
industries, economy, and natural environment.
Several local councils, Government departments, catchment management authorities, including the
Murray Darling Basin Authority, hold the responsibility of managing the Basin s water

Bullies Need a Harsher Punishment

Bullies Need a Harsher Punishment Bullying is on the rise in the U.S.; therefore, more researchers are
attentive to the effects of bullying. There are extreme cases wherein victims have resorted to drastic
measures. Bullying is a widespread plight, which is having both emotional and tragic effects;
therefore, bullies should be harshly prosecuted and imprisoned. In arguing that bullies need a harsher
punishment, this research paper will closely examine the types of bullying and statistics, detail two
teen suicide cases, and provide the state law.
According to Dan Olweus, research professor of psychology from Norway and creator of the Olweus

the law As of 2008, state laws on bullying, harassment, and cyber bullying varies; for instance, states
like Maryland and Virginia delegate responsibility to the State Boards and county Board of Education.
Maryland s code §7 424.1 requires the State Board to develop a model policy prohibiting bullying,
harassment, or intimidation in schools, and cyber bullying code §7 424 requires local boards of
education to submit an annual report to the Department of Education all the while not specifying
punishment upon said bullying or harassment ( State and Federal Information: Maryland ).
Unfortunately, nowhere in the law does it specify consequences for the bullies and their actions.
Virginia s code 8.01 220.1:2 provides immunity from liability for school employees and volunteers
from civil damages arising from reporting alleged acts of bullying or crimes against others if the
person in good faith promptly reports such acts or crimes to the appropriate school official
incompliance with specified procedures ( State and Federal Information: Virginia ). Like that of
Maryland, Virginia s policy does not specify ramifications for bullying, harassment, or cyber bullying.
In extreme bullying cases wherein victims committed suicide, why not punish bullies with a
mandatory sentence of 5 10 years imprisonment in maximum security? Then for repetitive bullying
cases of living victims, bullies should be sentenced to 2 4 years mandatory sentence in a minimum

Creating Equal Groups Of The Classroom Essay
To introduce the concept of division, I will have the students take out their notebooks and title their
pages division fact families. I will ask the students to tell me what they think that division means, and
after some discussion, I will ask them to write that division is used to share equally or create equal
groups. I will ask the students to give me some examples of when they needed to create equal groups
of something. I will provide an example of Halloween candy bags, and making sure that each bag has
the same amount in order to be fair. I will choose a few students to share. Next twelve students will be
asked to come to the front of the room. They will be asked to physically create three equal groups. The
rest of the class will be asked how groups do we have? (3) and how many students are in each group?
(4). Then I will write the multiplication fact 3 x 4 = 12. The students will be asked to make one group
again, then to physically create four equal groups. Once they do this, I will ask the same two questions
to the class, how many groups do we have? (4) and how many students are in each group? (3). Then I
will write the multiplication fact 4 x 3 = 12 on the board below the other fact. Those students will sit
down, and new students will come to the front of the room. I will ask them to stand in one group, then
form three groups. I will write 12÷3=4 on the board. Then I will ask them to form one group again,
then to make 4 equal groups, and I will write 12÷4=3

Philip Hamilton And Alexander Hamilton s Mental Health
Alexander Hamilton was one of America s foremost founding fathers. Hamilton s work in the army, in
the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful political
career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be seen today.
Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were filled with horrible
sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of Hamilton s mental health
would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic experiences, suicidal tendencies, and
appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand what was happening to Hamilton s
mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one must first understand Philip Hamilton
and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of
trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder.
Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son, and he
was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path, Philip
Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about George
Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system, and the
treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront George
Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as contentious
between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the two parted ways,
only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and Richard Price. The
argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a separate duel, albeit resulting
in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and Hamilton both refused to apologize,
and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible in New Jersey.
Asking for much needed advice from his father, Philip Hamilton received the advice to wait until
Eacker fired, and then raise his gun and shoot up into the air. Throwing away one s shot, Alexander
Hamilton argued, was a measure

artistic movement and postmodern tradition that is mainly considering originality over a technicality
when it comes to artwork (Sooful 2). Today, especially with improved technology, artists have

GDP and GNP as economic indicators
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Gross National Product (GNP) are key figures in accessing the
status of a country s economy. These numbers are also used to gauge the competency of the
administration in steering the economic wheels of the country.
By definition:
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the total market value of a country s output. It is the market value of
all final goods and services produced within a given period of time by factors of production within a
country.
Gross National Product (GNP) is the total market value of all final goods and services produced

Violence in the Media Essays
In 1884, a man by the name of Paul Nipkow invented a device called the scanning disk. Little did
Nipkow know that years later his invention would be transformed into one of the most popular
pastimes in America today ( Inventors ). Philo T. Farnsworth was the true inventor of television in
1927. He had no idea that thirty five years later his inventions would not only be in ninety percent of
Americans homes, but also strongly effect everyone that watched it. Following the introduction of
television into the United States, the annual homicide rate increased by ninety three percent (Journal

America. Some people say, Its just TV and its not real others say How does my elementary age kid

affects the actions of kids who watch TV on a regular basis.
Ted Turner CEO of Turner Network Television and Cable News Network was quoted as saying that,
TV is the single most significant factor contributing to violence in America.. The number of violent
acts the average American child sees on TV by the age eighteen is two hundred thousand ( Real ).
Average time per week that the American child spends watching television: nineteen hours and forty

The Writings Of Olaudah Equiano And Elizabeth Keckley
Autobiographical Similarities
The writings of Olaudah Equiano and Elizabeth Keckley are of the highest admiration. As they spoke
on their experiences with an intoxicating mixture of vibrancy and precision, they allowed the reader to
come along for the journey without getting lost. Most commendable, is that the writers were able to
leave subtle hints that would foreshadow their fortunes meticulously in efforts to keep the readers
engaged. There is a vital point to highlight from the workings of both authors how humble and
vulnerable their writings maintained as they were written during the peak of their success. Therefore,
the common theme is how they foreshadow their success without neglecting to pay homage to where
they came from. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her first chapter appropriately named Where I was Born , Keckley mentions that she was not only
born a slave but refers to slavery in a unique way that offers a hint of foreshadowing. She mentions I
was but a child myself only four years old but then I had been raised in a hardy school had been taught
to rely upon myself, and to prepare myself to render assistance to others (Gates Jr. Smith, 311). What
is so profound about that statement is that hardy school was a double entendre used to refer to slavery.
Hence, the idea that slavery taught her independence which she carried with her throughout her life.
As it pertains to her writing, slavery also equipped her with the poise she presented both in her
demeanor and in her work as a renowned seamstress. Another detail that Equiano incorporated within
his writing, is the meaning of his name. As he says in the text I was named Olaudah, which, in our
language, signifies vicissitude or fortune also, one favoured, and having a loud voice and well spoken
(Gates Jr. Smith 121). Equiano was a man who was the youngest born son to village leaders who
owned slaves, became a captive of slavery himself, briefly worked in the fields as a slave before
following his master overseas and ultimately buying his own freedom. What s most profound
throughout that, is the fact that he used his voice to help others who are stuck where he was able to
break free. PBS has an article where

Mozart Effect On Health
Plato once said, Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the
imagination and charm and gaiety to life and to everything, . Have you ever wondered what makes
you, you? What has shaped you into the person you are today; the accumulation of every instance and
preference that effects who you have become? Music makes up a big part of that as it is one of the
oldest pastimes humans still take part in all around the world without noticeably gaining any
experience out of it. Contrary to popular belief there is an abundance to gain from listening to music
especially if you listen to more than one genre. Without even noticing the listener allows more brain

Music especially those with different genres promotes a healthy psyche. For example, music has been
used as an effective therapy for years; the notion of using song, sound frequencies and rhythm to treat
physical ailments is a relatively new domain Doctor Daniel J. Levitin who specializes in neuroscience
of music states ...music improves the body s immune system function and reduces stress. Listening to
music was also found to be more effective than prescription drugs in reducing anxiety before surgery, .
Another way this positively effects issues with the psyche is that it can be used as a treatment for
mental illnesses. According to researchers at Cambridge University, the upwardly mobile narratives of
hip hop music may be a helpful tool to those struggling with depression due to the positive visual
images embedded in the lyrics. With the idea that music is so prevalent in today s society it s hard not
to notice the positive attributes we gain from it; we re already in a place and a time where people are
using music as medicine. They re using music much as they use drugs. The average person hears five
hours of music a day and many people instinctively reach for a certain kind of music to suit certain
occasions, so if you re having a party, you play one kind of music. If you re relaxing after a long day
at the office you play another kind of the music. The kind of music you play when you re trying to
wake up in the morning is different from

How Did Emmett Till Influence The Civil Rights Movement
He only whistled. But the woman he whistled at was white. He was black. A few days later, her angry
husband roused him from bed, told him to hurry up and dress. Three days later, his terribly battered
body surfaced in the muddy Tallahatchie River where it straightens out for a stretch through the cotton
rich flatlands of the delta. His name was Emmett Till. He was 14 years old. (Jallon, 1985) Over 60
years ago, the murder of Emmett Till shaped the course of human history significantly. News of his
death sparked outrage worldwide, and served as the catalyst for the emerging American Civil Rights
Movement. Now of course, the first things that come to mind when the Civil Rights Movement is
mentioned are people such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. However, I firmly believe that
another name should join that list. Mamie Till Bradley, Emmett s mother, worked tirelessly to ensure
that his death would not be in vain, and his name would never be forgotten. ... Show more content on

She did this by becoming a civil rights activist delivering moving speeches to large crowds across the
nation on the topic of racial inequality and advocating for children in poor neighbourhoods. It s also
important to note that her actions inspired more than just the general public. One such person was
Rosa Parks. Parks herself told Mamie Till that it was the image of Emmett s disfigured face in the
casket that was on her mind when she refused to give up her seat on the bus, a hundred days after Till
s death. Rosa Parks would later be cited as one of Martin Luther King s inspirations for taking on the
Montgomery Bus Boycott, which many consider to be the official start of the Civil Rights Movement.

Musical Development From The 50 S
Musical development from the 50 s to the present day
1950 s
The 1950 s was a very important decade in the development of music as it saw the birth of rock n roll.
Artists such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry took the style of playing already established in genres
such as blues and country music and completely renovated it. They took the idea of a 12 bar blues
pattern and sped it up and added rhythmic, catchy hooks to make the music easy to dance to. The
lyrics of songs about the genre itself as well as teenage love and sex, although the latter was only
referred to through slang terminology, appealed greatly to teenagers of the time due to their rebellious
nature.

Songs such as hound dog and jailhouse rock made him one of the most renowned performers of all
time and still influence music greatly even today.
While Presley was no doubt the most successful and best known artist of the decade, there are several
other performers who were key figures in establishing rock n roll as the music of the era. Artists such
as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Bill Haley and the comets played an integral role in creating
rock n roll and making it a success with songs such as Johnny B Goode and rock around the clock .
1960 s
Without a doubt the most influential event in the development of music in the 1960 s was what
became known as the British invasion. With the televised beatings of peaceful civil rights protestors
the American youth became disenchanted with their government and the music that was produced up
until 1963 began to reflect that. After 1963 however acts that had been hugely successful in Britain
began to make appearances in America, most notably the Beatles. The band, later known as the fab
four, became an overnight success in the states and very few American artists maintained any
semblance of popularity as a result of the ensuing beatlemania as it

The Painting Essay
The Painting
A picture can paint a thousand words. I found the one picture in my mind that does paint a thousand
words and more. It was a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture in the writing center; the
writing center is part of State College. The beautiful colors caught my eye. I was so enchanted by the
painting, I lost the group I was with. When I heard about the observation essay, where we have to
write about a person or thing in the city that catches your eye. I knew right away that I wanted to write
about the painting. I don t know why, but I felt that the painting was describing the way I felt at that
moment.

The grass was spread out through the whole painting. If you looked hard enough you can see flowers
of pink and red growing within the grass. There were spots of yellow in the grass making the grass
look as though it was dying. Then the painting had a patch of grass that had a very vibrant shade of
green, that made the grass look so alive. The grass had a willowy quality that may have suggested that
there may have been a breeze.
The river also suggested a breeze, there were ripples that flowed southeast. There were many different
shades of blue in the lake and river. The lake had a darker shade of light blue surrounded by a dark
blue then lined with black. The lake appeared to have a light shining either on top or the bottom of it,
which allowed you to see the grass growing under it. The river had a lighter shade of light blue with
white lines to show the ripples but it was surrounded with the same colors as the lake. You did not see
any grass growing under the river because there was no light shining on the river.
When I saw the painting for the first time it grabbed my attention. At first I thought it was the
beautiful colors that attracted me to the painting, but it was more. In the picture the shadowy men look
scared. They looked as though they were trying to run away from something and this lake that forms
into this river that is surrounded by tall grass is the way out, or at least a place to hide until the coast is
clear. During that time in my life I felt

Essay on Failed Relationships
We live our lives waiting for who we think is the perfect person, but in reality that never happens.
When we hear the word relationship, we think of a man and a woman. Being in a relationship is more
than just being intimate. There are different kinds of relationship such as husbands and wives, parent
and child, or just friend to friend. Some people say it takes two people to make a relationship fail.
When two people meet, they usually know from the begining if they want to be with that person or if
they want to pursue a relationship.
When a relationship fails, it is because one or both parties involved gives up. Giving up on a
relationship is always hard because it means someone s feelings are going to be ... Show more content

Some people cheat with the hope of never being caught. Another reason why relationships fail are
because of children, some people having children will help in reality it only makes worse. On the
other hand, if a person may bring their child or children into the relationship, and the child and the
other partner does not get along that usually cause a big problem.
Communication is the number one key to a good relationship. When there is no communication
between both parties involved in the relationship, that is when the relationship fails whether it is a man
and a woman, or a child trying to divorce his/her parents or friends cutting their ties forever.
When couples realize their relationship is starting to fail, they will try different things such as
marriage counseling. That is when the couple will sit down with a therapist and they will try to work
their problems out. Sometimes therapy can help the couples work their issues out and get to the root of
their problems. Another solution is a vacation or a second honeymoon where they can reconcile or
rekindle the relationship that they use to have. Or even as far as moving away to get a new start on
life, to try to get away from the old way of how things use to be and try to start a new life together
again.
In a relationship, we have to know what we can, and cannot live without. Being in a relationship
means nothing, no one is perfect and in a relationship, there

What Is The Priority Between Registered Interests In Real...
Introduction to determining priorities
Generally, notwithstanding that a security interest has been granted, the lender must ensure that the
security will grant it priority over unsecured creditors, liquidators or trustees in bankruptcy and other
secured creditors who may have a security in the same asset.
Priority between mortgages over real property and between mortgages and other interests in real
property (for example, leases) will be determined by the time of registration. This is explained in this
guidance note.
By contrast, while priority between security interests in personal property will usually be achieved by
registration, however, how priority is obtained will depend on the nature of the secured asset, the

Priority agreements
Interest holders can make private agreements between them in relation to priorities.
Commonly, in the case of mortgages, two or more mortgagees will enter into a priority deed agreeing
contractually the order of payment of money from the sale of one or more securities. Such agreements
are binding between the parties even if the priorities therein recorded are different to the priorities
registered on title. It is useful to note that such a priority deed often simply reiterates the priorities as
they existed as a matter of law (in which case the deed is, strictly speaking, unnecessary), but
sometimes, the deed accords the first mortgage additional rights.
It is not unusual for a first registered mortgagee to refuse to permit the certificate of title of the
security property to be used to enable a would be registered second mortgagee to register its mortgage,
unless that second mortgagee has first entered into a deed of priority with the first mortgagee making
the priorities clear.
Occasionally, to encourage a second mortgagee to advance a sum of money to the mortgagor that it is
in the first mortgagee s interests to see advanced (for example, funds necessary to complete a property
development that will greatly increase the value of the security property), the first mortgagee will
enter into a deed of priority with the second mortgagee according priority to the second

Urban Dwellers affected by Race
There have been many articles published about the transformation of cities in regards to industrial
improvements, communities blooming with mass migrations, and standards of living. A number of
different cultures have migrated to rural and urban populations and among those mass migrations
there were African Americans. Although immigrants went through hardships such as harsh living
conditions and low status, they didn t have to go through as much trouble as African Americans did.
African Americans who moved into the city were not on top of the priority list to most. They were not
given the time of day to their needs. Race affected these urban dwellers because of discrimination,
living conditions, and inequality. The color of their skin, regardless of abolishment of slavery and
social and economic well being was the only obstacle they faced every day to achieve the same
opportunities as the whites did and other immigrants. George Edmund Haynes article, Conditions
Among Negroes in the Cities, investigates reason and explains why certain situation were often
ignored, He states, There is growing up in the cities of America a distinct Negro world, isolated from
many of the impulses of the common life and little known and understood by the white world about it
(110). Flaws of their culture and color of their skin affected African Americans as urban dwellers. As

What Are The Environmental Effects Of American Consumerism

  • 2. Education Is The Most Powerful Weapon To Change The World Jessica Didi Philosophy Instrutor: Claude Gratton Favorite Qoute Former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela believes Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Mandela belief that education can change the world is still a dream. Education can prove to tackle the current issues across the world. Great leaders like Nelson Mandela, Gandhi Martin Luther King have always stressed on this matter. Education can help people Improve their social economic standards by creating more job opportunities. Give a Man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. The above proverb clearly sums up what knowledge can help people achieve. I believe that if all people has an education, they have a knowledge and understanding of what is happening to the world, they knew what is the advantages and disadvantages of the decision they make, they will have a self discipline and concern to others and the results of this we will have a wonderful world to live with. To quote Nelson Mandela, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, Education is the knowledge and development resulting from an educational process. It also prepares one for the ability of reasoning and judging, readying one to face the world . It s the foundation of developing one s mind and intellectual capability, without it, it is difficult to advance in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Columbian Exchange Essay The Columbian Exchange is about exchanging goods from the New World to the Old World and vise versa. During the Columbian Exchange, Europeans brought food, animals, technology, and also diseases to the New World. The New World had many great qualities such as farming land for crops and large vast of land for animals to roam freely and also to reproduce. The diseases that were brought over to the New World , includes Syphilis, Polio, Hepatitis, Encephalitis, and many other types of illnesses brought by the European. This had a great effect on the Indian population, the Indians started to contract the disease that the European had brought over and it was easily spreadable because of the air that they breathe and also by touching one another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the Columbian Exchange didn t happen yet many of the Native Americans had to do all of the labor by themselves without any use of animals. After the Columbian Exchange, Columbus brought over horses, dogs, cattle, goats, and chicken and it provided the Natives with a new source of labor and also with a new source of food. Many of these animals carried diseases and humans were dying. Those diseases that the animals carried with them came to the New World. Cattle were very profitable because you could eat their meat and also use their hides as a blanket. The cattle hides were then shipped back to Europe to be sold as well as the meat. Cattle have a downfall because they were destroying Native American crops by eating them or by just simply stepping on them. Black rats carried bubonic plague and typhus; the black rats came from the Old World to the New World and that plague spread to the colonist. The plague also killed off some of the smaller animals that belong to the Native Americans. Horses also land a great impact in the new world for Europeans; they used horses to scare the Native Americans because the natives didn t know what a horse was and what they do. Horses have lots of power and compared to the other animals the horses are much faster and have a bolder look and that is why the Natives are so frightened of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Noah s Ark Compare And Contrast The Biblical story of Noah s Ark is one that most people have heard. The story of Noah starts with God commanding Noah to build an Ark. God saw the evil in the world and decided to destroy man and everything on earth with a great flood. Noah builds an Ark for his family and two of every animal on board. Once the ark is complete, God then sent a flood and everything on earth was destroyed except for Noah, his family and the animals. Noah sent out a dove to see if the water had receded and, when the dove came back, it had an olive branch and Noah knew it was safe. God then told Noah that he would never destroy the earth again with a flood. A rainbow appeared in the sky as a sign of God s promise. Noah and his family exited the Ark and worshiped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First are the rock creatures in the movie that most people will not be able to accept. Another issue is that only one of Noah s sons had a wife, so how were they to go out to be fruitful and multiply. One other issue that I found confusing was the snakeskin that Noah wrapped around his arm. Supposedly, this was the skin of the serpent that tempted Eve and Adam into eating the forbidden fruit. It seems like this image should represent evil. Also, in the movie God is always referred to as the Creator. It is true that God is the creator and this is an appropriate way to identify him, but God s name was not used throughout the movie. Everyone has opinions and views that are different. It also depends on how well the audience knows the Biblical story of Noah. The Bible inspired the movie, but this inspiration only goes so far. The basic themes of the movie that relates to the Bible story are that Noah built an ark, saved two of each animal and that a great flood came and destroyed everything on earth. Everything in between is an interpretation by Ari Handel and Darren Aronofsky. No one alive today was there with Noah helping to build the ark; all we have is the Bible, which I believe is a true account of the story. The movie does provoke controversy and will move people to share and debate their views on what they believe. Christians stand on faith, not Hollywood s make believe. So, as to how the audience will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Wizard Of Oz Analyse Conor I thought the Wizard of Oz was a bright and colorful moving. Being a movie that was transitioning from a black film to color it really emphasized every single color imaginable. All the colors remind of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Candyland. I like how Emerald city stayed true to one color to make it unique which was green. It really conveyed to the audience why it was called Emerald City just of its color scheme alone. I felt bad for the tin man because all that makeup must of been hard to wear? I loved the color scheme that the wicked Witch of the West had. The dark green paint on her face and mole really captured the essence of evil. Dorothy really annoyed me in the movie. Her accent was just awful, and she spoke like a little ... Signs and symptom of iron deficiency anemia are: paleness, feeling tired, unusual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Treatments that are associated with iron deficiency anemia depends on what s causing your anemia. If anemia is caused from losing too much blood, your doctor will need to treat the cause of the blood loss. If anemia results from your diet being too low in iron, the doctor may recommend a change in your diet or iron pills. • 12. Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, Power Relationships... Introduction This essay explores how unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) are oppressed in the UK. An unaccompanied asylum seeking child is a person under the age of eighteen who has left their country of origin in order to seek refuge and is separated from both parents and are not being cared for by an adult who, by law or custom has responsibility to do so (UNHCR, 1994:121). They are therefore applying for asylum in their own right. Discrimination is the process of identifying that someone is different and, due to this difference, treating them unfairly (Thompson, 2006). Power is the capacity to act in such a way as to control others (Harris, 1997:28). He argues that everyone has at least some power, and that this power, for the relatively powerless, can be used to influence the decisions of the dominant group. Unaccompanied asylum seeking children not disclosing information can be seen as them exercising the little power they have. This can however have a negative impact on their lives in the UK, for example, being placed under section 17 of the Children Act instead of under section 20, which would offer the child more support. Foucault (1977) uses discourse to relate to how language can be used to construct ideas and thoughts about groups. Discourses and language can therefore help construct or reduce oppression (Thompson, 2006). If a group has power, they have the ability and opportunity to fulfil or obstruct personal, relational, or collective needs (Prilleltensky, 2008). If the dominant discourse of a less powerful group is positive, the group with power may help that group fulfil their needs. If the dominant discourse of a less powerful group is negative, such as with UASC, the powerful group may obstruct them in fulfilling their needs, and therefore will cause oppression. Innes (2010) argues that the negative discourse of asylum seekers as a threat to British society is portrayed in government literature ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamilton s work in the army, in the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful political career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be seen today. Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were filled with horrible sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of Hamilton s mental health would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic experiences, suicidal tendencies, and appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand what was happening to Hamilton s mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one must first understand Philip Hamilton and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder. Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son, and he was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path, Philip Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about George Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system, and the treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront George Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as contentious between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the two parted ways, only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and Richard Price. The argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a separate duel, albeit resulting in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and Hamilton both refused to apologize, and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible in New Jersey. Asking for much needed advice from his father, Philip Hamilton received the advice to wait until Eacker fired, and then raise his gun and shoot up into the air. He was 14 years old. (Jallon, 1985) Over 60 years ago, the murder of Emmett Till shaped the course of human history significantly. News of his death sparked outrage worldwide, and served as the catalyst for the emerging American Civil Rights Movement. Now of course, the first things that come to mind when the Civil Rights Movement is mentioned are people such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. However, I firmly believe that another name should join that list. Mamie Till Bradley, Emmett s mother, worked tirelessly to ensure that his death would not be in vain, and his name would never be forgotten. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She did this by becoming a civil rights activist delivering moving speeches to large crowds across the nation on the topic of racial inequality and advocating for children in poor neighbourhoods. It s also important to note that her actions inspired more than just the general public. One such person was Rosa Parks. Parks herself told Mamie Till that it was the image of Emmett s disfigured face in the casket that was on her mind when she refused to give up her seat on the bus, a hundred days after Till s death. Rosa Parks would later be cited as one of Martin Luther King s inspirations for taking on the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which many consider to be the official start of the Civil Rights Movement. • 29. Musical Development From The 50 S Musical development from the 50 s to the present day 1950 s The 1950 s was a very important decade in the development of music as it saw the birth of rock n roll. Artists such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry took the style of playing already established in genres such as blues and country music and completely renovated it. They took the idea of a 12 bar blues pattern and sped it up and added rhythmic, catchy hooks to make the music easy to dance to. The lyrics of songs about the genre itself as well as teenage love and sex, although the latter was only referred to through slang terminology, appealed greatly to teenagers of the time due to their rebellious nature. Songs such as hound dog and jailhouse rock made him one of the most renowned performers of all time and still influence music greatly even today. While Presley was no doubt the most successful and best known artist of the decade, there are several other performers who were key figures in establishing rock n roll as the music of the era. Artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Bill Haley and the comets played an integral role in creating rock n roll and making it a success with songs such as Johnny B Goode and rock around the clock . 1960 s Without a doubt the most influential event in the development of music in the 1960 s was what became known as the British invasion. With the televised beatings of peaceful civil rights protestors the American youth became disenchanted with their government and the music that was produced up until 1963 began to reflect that. After 1963 however acts that had been hugely successful in Britain began to make appearances in America, most notably the Beatles. The band, later known as the fab four, became an overnight success in the states and very few American artists maintained any semblance of popularity as a result of the ensuing beatlemania as it ... It was a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture in the writing center; the writing center is part of State College. The beautiful colors caught my eye. I was so enchanted by the painting, I lost the group I was with. When I heard about the observation essay, where we have to write about a person or thing in the city that catches your eye. The grass was spread out through the whole painting. If you looked hard enough you can see flowers of pink and red growing within the grass. There were spots of yellow in the grass making the grass look as though it was dying. Then the painting had a patch of grass that had a very vibrant shade of green, that made the grass look so alive. The grass had a willowy quality that may have suggested that there may have been a breeze. The river also suggested a breeze, there were ripples that flowed southeast. There were many different shades of blue in the lake and river. The lake had a darker shade of light blue surrounded by a dark blue then lined with black. The lake appeared to have a light shining either on top or the bottom of it, which allowed you to see the grass growing under it. The river had a lighter shade of light blue with white lines to show the ripples but it was surrounded with the same colors as the lake. You did not see any grass growing under the river because there was no light shining on the river. When I saw the painting for the first time it grabbed my attention. At first I thought it was the beautiful colors that attracted me to the painting, but it was more. In the picture the shadowy men look scared. They looked as though they were trying to run away from something and this lake that forms into this river that is surrounded by tall grass is the way out, or at least a place to hide until the coast is clear. • 32. Essay on Failed Relationships We live our lives waiting for who we think is the perfect person, but in reality that never happens. When we hear the word relationship, we think of a man and a woman. Being in a relationship is more than just being intimate. There are different kinds of relationship such as husbands and wives, parent and child, or just friend to friend. Some people say it takes two people to make a relationship fail. When two people meet, they usually know from the begining if they want to be with that person or if they want to pursue a relationship. When a relationship fails, it is because one or both parties involved gives up. Giving up on a relationship is always hard because it means someone s feelings are going to be ... On the other hand, if a person may bring their child or children into the relationship, and the child and the other partner does not get along that usually cause a big problem. Communication is the number one key to a good relationship. When there is no communication between both parties involved in the relationship, that is when the relationship fails whether it is a man and a woman, or a child trying to divorce his/her parents or friends cutting their ties forever. When couples realize their relationship is starting to fail, they will try different things such as marriage counseling. That is when the couple will sit down with a therapist and they will try to work their problems out. Sometimes therapy can help the couples work their issues out and get to the root of their problems. Another solution is a vacation or a second honeymoon where they can reconcile or rekindle the relationship that they use to have. Or even as far as moving away to get a new start on life, to try to get away from the old way of how things use to be and try to start a new life together again. • 33. What Is The Priority Between Registered Interests In Real... Introduction to determining priorities Generally, notwithstanding that a security interest has been granted, the lender must ensure that the security will grant it priority over unsecured creditors, liquidators or trustees in bankruptcy and other secured creditors who may have a security in the same asset. Priority between mortgages over real property and between mortgages and other interests in real property (for example, leases) will be determined by the time of registration. This is explained in this guidance note. By contrast, while priority between security interests in personal property will usually be achieved by registration, however, how priority is obtained will depend on the nature of the secured asset, the identity of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... See s 56(2) of the Real Property Act 1886 (SA). Priority agreements Interest holders can make private agreements between them in relation to priorities. Commonly, in the case of mortgages, two or more mortgagees will enter into a priority deed agreeing contractually the order of payment of money from the sale of one or more securities. Such agreements are binding between the parties even if the priorities therein recorded are different to the priorities registered on title. It is useful to note that such a priority deed often simply reiterates the priorities as they existed as a matter of law (in which case the deed is, strictly speaking, unnecessary), but sometimes, the deed accords the first mortgage additional rights. It is not unusual for a first registered mortgagee to refuse to permit the certificate of title of the security property to be used to enable a would be registered second mortgagee to register its mortgage, unless that second mortgagee has first entered into a deed of priority with the first mortgagee making the priorities clear. Occasionally, to encourage a second mortgagee to advance a sum of money to the mortgagor that it is in the first mortgagee s interests to see advanced (for example, funds necessary to complete a property development that will greatly increase the value of the security property), the first mortgagee will enter into a deed of priority with the second mortgagee according priority to the second ... Urban Dwellers Affected By Race Andrea Hout Dr. Piril Atabay IAH 211C 29 October 2015 Urban Dwellers affected by Race There have been many articles published about the transformation of cities in regards to industrial improvements, communities blooming with mass migrations, and standards of living. A number of different cultures have migrated to rural and urban populations and among those mass migrations there were African Americans. Although immigrants went through hardships such as harsh living conditions and low status, they didn t have to go through as much trouble as African Americans did. African Americans who moved into the city were not on top of the priority list to most. They were not given the time of day to their needs. Race affected these urban dwellers because of discrimination, living conditions, and inequality. The color of their skin, regardless of abolishment of slavery and social and economic well being was the only obstacle they faced every day to achieve the same opportunities as the whites did and other immigrants. George Edmund Haynes article, Conditions Among Negroes in the Cities, investigates reason and explains why certain situation were often ignored, He states, There is growing up in the cities of America a distinct Negro world, isolated from many of the impulses of the common life and little known and understood by the white world about it (110).
