DNA contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of most living organisms. It determines characteristics like hair, eye, and skin color. DNA is made up of nucleotides that form two strands connected via hydrogen bonds between complementary base pairs (A-T, C-G). The hydrogen bonds allow the DNA strands to separate, or unzip, during processes like DNA replication with only a small amount of energy.
