Psychrometry is the science dealing with air-water mixtures and their physical properties. When designing an air conditioning system, the temperature and moisture content of the air to be conditioned must be known. These properties include dry-bulb temperature, wet-bulb temperature, dew point temperature, relative humidity, and humidity ratio. The psychrometric chart is used to determine these properties and visualize air conditions. It can also be used to analyze processes like cooling, heating, humidifying, and dehumidifying air.
