The turtle sees the fox looking for honey and offers to teach the fox's children a smarter way to obtain it. The turtle teaches the children to use a catapult to shoot objects. They practice by shooting a bowl of water suspended from a tree. Impressed, the fox agrees to let the turtle teach them how to shoot a bee hive to get honey. In the forest, the group separates to search for a hive. Upon finding one, the children shoot the hive with the catapult as taught, causing the hive to fall and pour honey out. The fox and children flee from attacking bees while the turtle safely hides in its shell until the coast is clear to enjoy the spilled honey.
