Descriptive Essay On Maria Island
Anna Maria Island One evening in April, we headed to Bishop airport in flint,to fly to Tampa, Florida.
When we were at the airport I was so anxious. This was going to be my 5th time flying, so it wasn t
that new to me. Our plane arrived at the airport at 8:00 pm and we were boarding at 8:30 pm. The
plane ride took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We finally arrived in Tampa, Florida. My grandma and
grandpa picked us up and we hit the road for about another hour. My aunt, uncle, and my two cousins
were meeting us at the house we rented on Anna Maria Island. We crossed a huge bridge that took us
to Anna Maria Island. We arrived at the house at midnight. The house had 4 rooms, 3 ½ baths, a big
swimming pool with a hot tub, and was right by the ocean. My aunt, uncle, and my two cousins were
unpacking all the food when we arrived. My sister and I went straight up to our room, there were two
twin sized beds, and a closet. We unloaded and went to bed at 1 in the morning. The next day
everyone woke up around the same time, my mom searched up the weather up, it was going to be a
hot one, we knew it was going to be a beach day. We packed snacks, put our bathing suits on, and
walked to the beach. Right away my cousins and I went to find shells, starfish, and sand dollars, I
found a lot of shells, sand dollars, and my goal was to find a starfish, and I did. My mom called us
over to eat our lunch, well we were eating our sandwiches on the beach, there were seagulls swooping

Gender Roles In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
With the arrival of third wave feminism, gender roles are an increasingly popular topic for discussion,
and literature is an effective catalyst for it. This is shown through Chinua Achebe´s 1958 novel Things
Fall Apart, which discusses the effects of European colonization on African society, using a fictional
group of Igbo villages as an example. His main character is Okonkwo, an aggressive and powerful
male figure in the community. He is a prime example of how male gender expectations can negatively
affect people. As Achebe states, fiction [is] entirely fictitious [but] it could also be true or false, not
with the truth or falsehood of a news article but as to its disinterestedness, its intention, its integrity
(Franklin 3). Clearly, he writes with the purpose of conveying truths through the broader untruth of
fiction, and so could not have unintentionally created a character with such problems that are glaringly
caused by gender roles. The way that Okonkwo embodies stereotypical gender expectations for men
makes clear how they can be toxic to everyone. To effectively discuss anything, gender roles included,
central terms need to be defined. Achebe sets this up for the reader in the beginning of the novel, to
construct a basis on which to evaluate further as plot events unfold. He talks about Okonkwo
encourag[ing] the boys to sit with him in his obi, and [telling] them stories of the land masculine
stories of violence and bloodshed. Nwoye [,Okonkwo s son,] kn[ows]

Theories Of Evolution
What is evolution? (Evolution is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought
to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth). Charles Darwin
was the original founder of evolution. There are many theories out there that scientist have came up
with and have come to believe through research on ancient organism remains, similarities of embryos,
fossil records, and chemical and Anatomical similarities. Ancient organisms, scientist say that
organisms that lived long ago that have modern day organisms that look just alike or very similar to
today s. Scientist say organisms have evolved and that why they didn t go extinct. For instance a
mammoth, they lived in the cold but what happened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Back when scientist first found fossils they compared them to moderate day organisms . Scientists
then realized that the fossils and the moderate day organisms remains didn t look alike and had
features that the other didn t have. Moderate day scientist have technology that they can date back
fossils and find out when the organism was alive. Similarities of living organisms, this is the belief
that organism came from one or two common organisms. A great example of this is houses, donkeys,
and zebras, they are all similar organisms that have almost the same body structure, but they live in
different parts of the world and have evolved and adapted to where they live so they can survive.
(Scientists can compare the DNA of two organisms; the more similar the DNA, the more closely
related the organisms). Similarities of embryos, an embryo is an unborn or unhatched child. Scientist
say that many organisms have similar characteristics (This shows that the animals are similar and that
they develop similarly, implying that they are related, have common ancestors and that they started out
the same, gradually evolving different traits, but that the basic plan for a creature s beginning remains
the same). A good example of this is a frog, a hippo, and a rabbit they have similar characteristics such
as frogs and rabbits both being able to jump and the frog and hippo being able to stay underwater for
long periods of time and all of them breath

An Definition Of Moral Theory
Another moral theory, also born of Deontological Perspectives, comes from WD Ross. In contrast to
Kant, who stated that moral positions can be deduced by reason and are absolutely binding, Ross
believes that we determine moral positions through intuition of the rightness or wrongness on the
action. This intuition allows us to determine what our duties are while these duties are not dependent
on the outcomes or circumstances, but how we rank these duties is dependent on a situation. In turn,
this creates what Ross refers to as Prima Facie duties. Prima Facie duties are duties that are obligatory
duties that can be trumped by other duties depending on our situation. Ross gives an example of seven
of these prima facie duties in his writings: beneficence, non maleficence, justice, self improvement,
fidelity, reparation, and gratitude. These duties arise because we intuit them to be true and binding
duties. In Ross s view, all of these duties are binding, but he does not exclude, as Kant does that these
duties may overlap and run contrary to one another in any given situation. We can only act in
accordance with what our perception is of the situation and try to do our best, but we may often fail as
a result. While this theory is superior to Kant in that it does allow for more universal applicability and
wiggle room to fit various cultures, the main issue with Ross s theory is that it relies on the intuition of
flawed humans to determine self evident duties and does not

The Causes And Contributions Of The Human Genome Project
Human Genome Project A genome is the complete collection of an organism s genetic material. The
human genome is composed of about 20,000 to 25,000 genes located on the 23 pairs of chromosomes
in a human cell (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). According to the Human Genome Project (2000), A
single human chromosome may contain more than 250 million DNA base pairs, and it is estimated
that the entire human genome consists of about 3 billion base pairs. Now that we have identified what
a genome is, we will now examine the Human Genome Project. The Human Genome Project (HGP) is
a project that began in October of 1990 (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). The HGP lasted for 13 years, so
the end of the project was in 2003. Mapping the entire human DNA sequence was the main purpose of
the program (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). Associating specific human traits and inborn diseases with
genes at exact locations on the chromosomes was the goal of genomic mapping and sequencing (HGP,
2000). Figure 1 below shows the timeline through which the Human Genome Project got completed.
In 1990, the project commenced along with the Ethical, legal and social implication program (ELSI).
Fast forwarding to 1995, where the human physical mapping goal was achieved. Then in 1999, the
sequence of the first human chromosome was completed. Finally, in 2003, the project was completed.

Ducks Unlimited Vs. Delta Waterfowl
Ducks Unlimited vs. Delta Waterfowl Even though there are many ways to conserve waterfowl, there
technically are not any wrong ways. However, one could argue that there are better ways. That debate
rages on between sportsmen and environmental conservationists alike. There are two big organizations
when it comes to conserving waterfowl and wetlands, Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl. Both
groups are able to raise millions of dollars for waterfowl due to their enormous amount of members.
However, I feel that Ducks Unlimited is the better conservation group because they can maintain and
manage the landscape of an ecosystem effectively, and they are a greater political force compared to
Delta Waterfowl. Ducks Unlimited was founded by Joseph ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ducks Unlimited tries to revert these watersheds back to their natural levels by draining the wetlands
that have extremely high levels of contaminants in the water. They then clean the soil in the habitat
and find a way to decrease the extra contaminates from entering the watershed. Next they will pump
healthy water back into the wetlands and install buffer strips that act like a filter that will catch the
extra nutrients and silt. The restoration of grasslands and forests is extremely important when it comes
to breeding grounds for ducks. Dabbling Ducks use the tall grass found around ponds or in marshes to
build nest and raise their young. Diving Ducks will flock to flooded forest areas and build a nest inside
the holes of a tree and they will raise their young from above the ground. In recent years these habitats
have been reduced significantly for farming and other purposes. In order to restore these habitats
Ducks Unlimited must first purchase the land from the landowner. After they have the rights to the
property they will begin to make changes to the area so it can be a more suitable ecosystem for
waterfowl. When restoring grasslands Ducks Unlimited will replant the local grasses and dig ponds in
the area, these actions will help hatchlings survive to adulthood. After these properties have been
restored Ducks Unlimited will donate the land to government agencies that

The Museum Of Natural History
Museums are information organizations, that is, they are about giving the most up to date information
to their patrons. No matter how well their organization, commercially, is wrap it up that part of them
remains the same. From the two museums that I visited, the Henry Ford Museum and the Museum of
Natural History, are clearly about passing information to the patron. There are differences between
them, however, it is the equivalences that I want to focus on as they are what bind them. The three
areas of focus are community, academic outreach, and the stories they share. Creating a strong and
vibrant community is important to museums. Dr. Ronquillo, a leader a Philippine Archeology
museum, so elegantly wrote, A properly planned community museum can express and elucidate the
community s cultural wealth through the appropriate presentation and exhibition of their important
natural and cultural heritage (Ronquillo, 1992). It is the community that keeps generation after
generation coming back to see the history that us humans, the earth, and beyond have gone through.
The journey of information, for most, begins as a child during our time at school. For the Museum of
Natural History, this is quite literal as the museum is a part of the University of Michigan culture.

Sinusitis
SINUSITIS
INTRODUCTION
Infections of the sinuses are not a pleasant thing to have for anyone. Each year, once spring comes and
again during cold and flu season, a large number of people develop allergies or sinus blockages that
are typically very unpleasant. Allergies from pollen and blockages from the cold or flu, sometimes
develop into more serious conditions such as sinusitis. Both acute and chronic sinusitis can be
debilitating; as anyone that has ever had a sinus infection can attest to. Anyone who suffers sinusitis
can testify to the headaches, difficulty breathing and its ability to impair the simplest of tasks. For
people, prone to these infections, life can be difficult and they will seek and form of relief. However,

However, chronic sinusitis that has turned bacterial can be treated and the normal course of action is to
prescribe antibiotics. Antibiotics are effective in treating Sinusitis and according to Richard Rosenfeld,
M.D., (2016) in his paper titled Acute Sinusitis in Adults, it is stated that, antibiotics are prescribed for
84 to 91% of patients with acute sinusitis that is diagnosed in emergency departments and outpatient
settings (p. 962). Although antibiotics are the go to cure for Sinusitis, making the duration shorter, it
has been shown that most cases clear up on their own with no need for medications at all. In his paper,
Doctor Rosenfeld (2016) also notes, approximately 85% of persons have a reduction or resolution of
symptoms within 7 to 15 days without antibiotic therapy (p.962). So, it has been shown that although
a nuisance, most people have sinusitis resolve itself after about 2 weeks and antibiotics really should
only be used for severe cases that do not resolve on their own. So, what does a severe case of sinusitis
look like, what factors are involved and just how bad can this infection get when it does not resolve on
its own but instead turns much

Reasons For The Schlieffen Plan
The Schlieffen plan was made started in 1894 by the German Chief of Staff Alfred von Schlieffen in
the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Von Schlieffen continued making the plan until 1903, then the plan
was revised in 1903 later being carried out in 1906, 12 years after he started creating the Schlieffen
plan, knowing that he would be attacked from two sides of Germany, Russia attacking from the East
and France attacking from the West. Von Schlieffen Created the Schlieffen Plan in 1905 when he was
German Chief of Staff. Germany wanted to take out France in the west before Russia could mobilise
their troops to attack the east side of Germany, they did this because they were scared that they would
be attack from both sides of Germany and be taken off the world map. So they attack France because
they felt they were more of a threat as they could mobilise their troops quickly, then Germany would
transport their troops through railway tracks to the east to attack the Russian soldiers, therefore having

One of the methods was by opening the water gate and trying to drown the Germans out.The Germans

Humanitarian Intervention Vs Humanitarian Intervention
Humanitarian intervention has been widely debated over the last couple of decades, causing arguments
to rise of what constitutes humanitarian intervention and if the Responsibility to Protect doctrine has
become to politicized to be reliable. These accounts are backed up on how interventions are being
implemented through out the world in various intrastate and international conflicts. Humanitarian
intervention and R2P have produced debates on the morality, legality, and operational credibility the
organizations now retain. Along with these debates, concerns of NATO and the Security Council s
actions bring to light the concern if humanitarian intervention can be relied on in effort of peace.
These questions facilitate concern and instability throughout the world, and breeds inability for peace
efforts to be conducted. As such, humanitarian intervention is a crucial effort towards peace; it
subsequently undermines the issues surrounding sovereignty and the idea that sovereignty is the
utmost importance to a state s livelihood. For humanitarian intervention and R2P to succeed, a reform
needs to be implemented within the system; sovereignty should not be held authoritatively and states
should be held accountable for their actions; regardless of their allies influential opinions.
Humanitarian efforts are based on the four principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and
independence; The one thing these principles all have in common are that they come unbiased. Yet,

Why The Mona Lisa May Not Be A Painting Essay
When it comes to art appreciation and definition one is left at odds when societal practices do not
reflect theoretically sound arguments regarding the identity of a work. On one hand, paintings like the
Mona Lisa are displayed with great importance in museums around the world, with thousands of
visitors daily trekking to see the Mona Lisa, while just outside vendors are selling copies on canvas,
poster and magnet of the very same image. To help in the understanding of this phenomenon, and to
determine the work identity of the Mona Lisa, we shall examine the validity of arguments put forth by
Frank Sibley in Why the Mona Lisa May Not be a Painting which draws upon several concepts of art
identity put forth by Goodman and Elgin in Interpretation and Identity: Can the Work Survive the
World? . After this examination I will briefly add on to Sibley s arguments bringing them a step
further in conclusion, but let us first begin with the establishing principles of work identity proposed
in the two articles.
When introducing the concept of text being equal to work, Goodman proposes literary pluralism;
where one text produces one work with multiple valid, and allowably contradictory, interpretations.
This pluralism is present only in allographic art forms that are not linked to physical objects. Pluralism
about literature seems more plausible than pluralism about reality . He argues that literature may have
interpretations that conflict, but in the physical world one cannot

Since the beginning of European colonization in 1788, Aboriginal people have experienced
displacement, have been the targets of genocidal policies and practices, and have had families
destroyed through the forcible removal of children. Decades of colonial exploitation and a prolonged
systematic attempt to destroy Aboriginal people and culture have led to legislations and policies that

Aboriginal people did not have access to amenities, such as cinemas, hotels, cafés and swimming
pools, and suffered prejudice and suspicion as well as verbal and sometimes physical abuse (**). In
the town of Walgett they decided to picket the Walgett Returned Service League Club (RSL) as a
protest against the treatment of Aboriginal people. The media covered the Walgett RSL protest. The
central role of the film camera in this campaign demonstrated the growing sophistication of activists
who recognized the need to show city dwellers what was happening in country towns. Also captured
on tape was the vice president of the RSL who said he would never allow an Aboriginal to become a
member (Curthoys, 2011, 12). Such evidence was beamed into the living rooms of Australians with
the evening news and exposed an endemic racism. This film footage shocked city viewers and added
to the mounting pressure on the government.
The legacy of the Freedom Ride political action was a greater awareness of Aboriginal issues in a rural
context. Perkins and his fellow students had successfully stirred up debate and sparked discussion
around Australia on the state of Aboriginal affairs. Awakening media interest in Aboriginal affairs was
positioned in favor of the Black Australian cause, to the severe embarrassment of many white
townspeople in rural New South Wales. In the ensuing public debate, urban public knowledge of racial
discrimination grew, some

Final Maturation Stage Research Paper
final maturation stage, the collagen is remodeled over time. When the body is inflicted with a
penetrating wound, vessels and tissue fibers are ripped and broken. The area is then filled with leaking
blood from the surrounding vessels and the outermost blood flow begins to form a scab. The
surrounding vessels at that time constrict to minimize the blood leakage in a process known as
vasoconstriction. The first step of the body is to clot the blood and achieve hemostasis, or blood
clotting to impede blood leakage. The blood also coagulates, forming into a gel like substance from its
liquid state. The area of damage undergoes the coagulation cascade in which a fibrin clot is made.
Blood platelets begin to release inflammatory factors and express glycoproteins on the cell
membranes, a sticky like protein, in order to aggregate. The area then forms a fibrin matrix via fibrin
and fibronectin fibers, which provide the scaffold for incoming cells. this fibrin clot plays a crucial
role in clotting the surrounding area as well as trapping essential proteins and cells.

The Pregnancy And Sexual Transmitted Disease ( Std ) Rates...
We all want to see pregnancy and sexual transmitted disease (STD) rates among adolescent become
nonexistent. But each year twelve million unfortunate adolescent contract in STD and more than one
million teenage girls become pregnant (IDPH). Therefore, the government pushes abstinence only
programs on adolescent in hopes that this would be the solution to this difficult problem.
Unfortunately, these programs do very little to stop the increasing rates, but now have only pushed
teens to continue in their sexual behaviors, along with denying them the tools to properly protect
themselves. Even though research has disproven that abstinence only programs work, comprehensive
programs are still not being used in school. This is because there is an ... Show more content on

Even though these two STDs are treatable with antibiotics, for the majority of people who contract
these infections do not experience any symptoms and it can go without treatment for many years. If
left untreated chlamydia and gonorrhea can leave the person with devastating consequences like
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, infertility, and other health problems. HIV is another epidemic among
adolescents, so much so that young people ages 13 to 24 make up the 1 out of every 4 new HIV
infections each year (CDC). Young adults diagnosed with this infectious disease are forced to carry it
with them the rest of their lives because as of now it is incurable. HIV is a serious disease that if not
treated properly can cause the person to become extremely ill and can even cause death. Herpes is not
far behind HIV, with one in every five adolescent and adults become infected and two thirds of that
number are young adults under the age of 25 (Teen Help). This STD is also incurable and secretly
lives in the body, leaving the person to only guess when an outbreak will happen. Because many
adolescents underestimate their infection risk and they have mistaken ideas about what protect them
from STDs and what does not, (Brückner 277) many do not take the proper precautions necessary to
protect themselves. This leaves [o]ne third of all sexually active young people [to] become infected

Comparing The Separation Of Church And States
The defendant anxiously waits for the jury to come to a conclusion whether polygamy is constitutional

function of the Establishment Clause. Pilgrims were able to escape England s strict religious laws by

causing conflicts during religious court cases, causing controversies over the amendment, and
removing religion from school. Reynolds versus the United States Court case polygamy is discussed.

The Union And Its Impact On The United States
The Zollverein was a, customs union that abolished tariffs between all of the German states with the
exception of Austria. The roots for such a union began in 1818 when a variety of smaller customs
unions were created amongst the German states. These smaller customs ultimately led to the
Zollverein treaties of 1833, which in turn led to the creation of the Zollverein on January 1, 1834. This
union improved the economies of the member states by stimulating the trade of those involved, as well
as the unification of one single currency. This also made Prussia stronger because as the Zollverein
gained more and more support, the middle class was able to gain the majority power in the seats of
Parliament, and were in position to assert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, both sides decided to better prepare themselves for the war. Napoleon III, nephew of Napoleon I,
chose to take the time to improve their army in preparation. As Bismarck; having the back loading,
rifled, long range weaponry depicted in the recorded lessons, chose to take this time to persuade the
southern German states into a fully unified Germany against the French. All each side needed was an
excuse or a reason to go to war with one another. Such a pretext seemed to present itself in a decision
made by a third party, Spain. In 1869, the Spanish parliament offered the nephew of the King that
appointed Otto von Bismarck, Prince Leopold, the Spanish throne. Bismarck saw this as the
opportunity he needed in order to go to war with France because with Spain being the country that
borders France on the Western side of Europe, there would be a Prussian Monarchy on either side of
France. Although, at the request of France, Wilhelm I rescinded the decision to send his nephew to the
Spanish throne. Bismarck was not pleased by the decision as he saw that as his opportunity to defeat
France and unify the Germanic states into one full entity. France however took this modest victory to
the head and soon demanded in 1870 that King Wilhelm I issue a document that renounce any and all
future claims to the Spanish throne, stating as well that any attempt to do so would result

Risk Of Infection Essay
Recognising the relationship that exists between exercise and risk of infection is an important concept
for athlete to comprehend, as any form of infection can lead to athletes missing the event or inability
to perform to the standard expected (Nieman, 1994). This relationship has been demonstrated using a J
shaped curve which was developed by .......... Overall, this curve implies that engaging in moderate
levels of exercise is beneficial in its ability to reduce URTI vs non active people while partaking in
prolonged high intensity exercise can have adverse effects and increase risk of infection to levels
higher than that seen in non active individuals.
High intensity exercise and its effect:
1. Epidermiological studies performed on athletes partaking in marathon or ultra marathon events
have seen a rise (2 6 fold) in self reported symptoms relating to URTI weeks after taking part (Peters
Bateman, 1983; Nieman et al., 1990). Nieman performed a retrospective study on 2,311 marathon

One is the adequacy of the research itself. In view of the extent of the research, and the high
proportion of negative findings, this seems unlikely to be fruitful. I will deal with it here cursorily.
Another is the appropriateness of the research to the nature of the theory. In this respect I argue that it
is the sort of theory which is not easily amenable to crucial test, as Wahba and Bridwell accept. This
would usually be seen as a shortcoming. I here argue that, on the contrary, it is one of the qualities
which gives the theory its power. The third ground is that the theory itself can be refined. A series of
modifications are later proposed. The remainder of the paper works through a number of stages. The
general nature of Maslow s hierarchy is first examined. A the same time the adequacy of current
research methods to test it is assessed. Then follows a more detailed analysis of the theory. As a
consequence of this examination I propose a series of Maslow revis(it)ed Paper 02 5 modifications
to the categories of needs, their relationship, and the underlying rationale for the hierarchy. Finally, I
review the agreement between the theory and other general theories which address similar issues. The
nature of Maslow s hierarchy Before the research can be assessed or the theory reviewed it is
necessary that I clarify the very nature of the theory. Briefly, I argue that it is essentially a taxonomy,

How Did Rousseau Influence The Philosophers Of The...
Philosophers of the Enlightenment played a crucial role in how the governments and people of Europe
would think and change. John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau were two political philosophers that
were quite important to this movement. John Locke is credited as the principal forerunner of the

Vengeance And Vengeance In Beowulf
V is for Vengeance
Anglo Saxon culture consisted of receiving fame, glory, and wealth through acts of vengeance and
courage. Beowulf portrays these parts in great detail and shows how destabilizing it can be. Through
acts of vengeance, a never ending war occurs.
It is said in Beowulf that old tongues poke and prod youngsters to wars with incendiary comments
like, That sword, that previous old blade over there, I think you know it friend. Your father carried it,
fought with it the time he could swing a sword; The Danes killed him and many more of our men and
stripped the dead bodies; The brave, bold Danes! (Beowulf pg. 86]. These words prompt the
youngsters to thirst for vengeance and glory with the mention of how their ancestors ... Show more

In this quote, Beowulf believes that it would be cowardly to fight Grendel with a sword and that
facing him with only his hands is the only way to do it right. The word struggle really shows how an
Anglo Saxon life must be lived. In Anglo Saxon culture, you had to show signs of struggle for
everything you owned or else it would seem as though it were illegitimate and others would look
down upon you if items or positions were just given to you. Those who take vengeance with courage
are thought deserving of the wealth they get from those of high social status according to Anglo Saxon
culture. A courageous warrior can earn quite a lot and you can see this after the defeat of Grendel and
Hrothgar states And take, in return, whatever you may want from whatever I own. Warriors deserving
far less have been granted as much, given gifts and honored, though they fought no enemy like yours.
Glory is now yours forever and ever; your courage has earned it, and your strength ( Beowulf pg,43].
Hrothgar is telling Beowulf that anything he has is his. Beowulf showed great strength and courage
when fighting Grendel and because of that, Hrothgar believes that the glory Beowulf has earned is
now unassailable. Hrothgar uses words like courage and strength to show real admiration for Beowulf.
He knows that these are the words that warriors like to hear and what the Anglo Saxons revere

The Interest Rates On Federal Student Loans Essay
College is not quite as optional as it once used to be in the era of our parents and their parents. To get a
job that will pay substantially more than with just a high school degree, it is becoming more and more
common for high school graduates to go straight to college. With the price of college skyrocketing, it
is extremely common to take out student loans (from the government or private institutions), all which
come with interest. This paper will focus on the different aspects of student debt, including rates, how
they compare with car and mortgage debt, forbearance and deferment, default and delinquency, and
adverse selection and moral hazard.
The interest rates on federal student loans are set every year depending on the 10 year treasury note
rate in addition to a fixed percentage depending on the loan type. They are set by the United States
Congress. Depending on the type of loan you acquire, your rate will be different. Direct Subsidized
Loan and Direct Unsubsidized Loan rates for undergraduates are currently 3.76 percent, down from
4.29 percent last year. Direct Unsubsidized Loan rates for graduate students are currently 5.31 percent,
and were 5.84 percent last year. Direct PLUS Loan rates for graduate students and parents are
currently 6.31 percent and were 6.84 percent last year. [Access Group, 2016].
Privately issued loans may be issued by private institutions such as banks, schools, credit unions, and
state agencies. Generally, privately issued loans are more

Examine how one theory of emotion may affect one cognitive...
One theory of how emotion affects the cognitive process of memory is by a process known as a
Flashbulb Memory. The theory is that these Flashbulb Memories will not only enhance the memory
itself, but will make certain aspects of the memory more vivid and detailed. First, the Flashbulb
Memory should be defined. Flashbulb memories are emotional memories that are remembered with
great vivid detail and are almost photo like. For example, if someone were to experience a horrid
natural disaster, they would most likely remember the situation more vividly than people not actually
there. This instance is exactly what Brown and Kulik were trying to show in 1977, and what Conway
was trying to express in 1994. They were dealing with the concept of ... Show more content on

Like the experiment done by Conway et al, Neisser and Harsch investigated people s memory
accuracy of the incident 24 hours after the explosion and then again two years after. The results were:
one day after the disaster, 215 of the participants said that they heard about the disaster on television.
Two and a half years later 45% of the participants claimed to have heard of the event on the television.
Their memories of how they learned the news about the challenger disaster changed over time and
was a huge loophole in the studies in favor of flashbulb memory. Through this study it can be
concluded that flashbulb memories are not reliable and may in fact just be ordinary memories.
From Brown and Kulik to Neisser and Harsch we arrive at completely different conclusions. There are
many strengths to these studies, as they were all with real events that would have affected people
emotionally, but some of the studies were lacking in validity. The studies that recorded before and
after seemed to be more compelling than the ones that just assumed a certain answer. However, the
longer the duration of time between the before and after results most likely produced more variables
being tested, rather than just one. Based on the studies outlined it only seems accurate that these
flashbulb memories actually exist and affect our memory. The real analysis of these findings are how
they actually influence behavior. Emotion can affect memory, and ultimately behavior in someone s
life.

they will relate to the ad since it uses Real Women in it s testimonial. The positioning strategy is pull,

Essay on Baroque Music
Baroque Music
In 1600 a new style of music began to evolve, this form of music was later to be called Baroque.
Baroque music was very different to the music before its time such as medieval and early renaissance
music and the development of new harmonic and melodic lines added difference in pace and variation
to the compositions giving them a new shape and form. The structure of the music also changed,
different forms such as fugues and cannons developed and different instruments were introduced.
There were many composers that wrote music throughout the baroque era, some more significant than

The Total Number Of Valid Sudoku Grids
The Total Number of Valid Sudoku Grids
Introduction
Sudoku s roots can be traced back to 1780 s Switzerland, when Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler
developed Latin Squares the concept of arranging symbols within a grid such that each symbol would
appear only once in each row or column which is the basis of Sudoku. Thus, most would attribute the
invention of Sudoku to Switzerland, even though the puzzle s name consists of two Japanese
characters: su (which means number ) and doku (which means single ). I, along with many others
around the world, enjoy the challenge that Sudoku puzzles present, and have done so since I was about
twelve years old. I have always taken for granted the apparently random amount and placement of
given numbers for each particular puzzle, and never wondered why or how I solved the puzzle each
time; until now, that is.
The aim of this exploration is to to find the number of distinct Sudoku grids.
Understanding the Rules of Sudoku
The format of a Sudoku puzzle is a nine by nine grid with at least seventeen givens, or cells that are
already occupied by numbers that are known to be correct. The grid is subdivided into nine three by
three blocks, nine rows, and nine columns, as Figures 1, 2, and 3 respectively demonstrate below:

Each block can be further divided into cells as shown in Figure 4:

The Importance Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution was certainly one of the most important events in Europe s political history
and highlighted the importance of the new age of Enlightenment. The outcomes of the Revolution
were many: its short comings led to the rise of the Napoleonic Regime and Robespierre s reign
through terror led other European revolutionaries to step back in fear. However, whilst the revolution
failed to achieve all it had aimed to do; it did overthrow its monarchy, creating the first true European

The terms of this Treaty meant that another war was almost inevitable, thus leading to the rise of
Napoleon Bonaparte.
Napoleon s 1799 coup to become the First Consul of the Republic, was the start of one of the biggest
political and societal reforms the world had ever seen. Napoleon was desperate to prove he was a just
leader, he wanted to ensure the aims of the French Revolution became law; this was notably seen with
the implementation of the Napoleonic Code, replacing the patchwork of Feudal Laws that had
previously existed. The document established the Republic as the first European country to create a
Civil Legal System, a modern and simpler concept that existed to serve the entire population.
Napoleon s reforms were unlike anything Europe had seen before and set the French First Republic at
the forefront of political innovation. France had become an example by which many European
countries would follow in the century to come.
However, the Napoleonic Wars that sprouted from Napoleon s constant changes to the international
system, in his attempt to legitimise the aims of the Revolution, ultimately led to Napoleon s downfall;
yet, the consequences of the Wars were of great importance to Europe s stability. Notably, the
Napoleonic Wars led to the creation of the Concert of Europe, an alliance between European powers
that would likely not have occurred without the French Revolution or Napoleon.

Jesus and Moses
According to the book of Matthew, Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the
king, indicating he was born between 6 and 4 BCE (Matthew 2:1). The Bible refers to this as the
virgin birth because Joseph and Mary never conceived him. He was a human being in which God took
his form. Very little is known about his childhood and the Bible only reveals a picture of Jesus and his
teachings when he was approximately 30 years of age. Whatever happened to Jesus during these years
is a mystery to us all, but whatever happened transformed him into the divine being which he is today.

The third temptation reveals man s desire for power. In all three, Jesus relied on God, as should his
followers for strength and direction. It is only after this that Jesus uses his true God given powers to
help and convert people.
Jesus began to travel throughout the lands amassing a trusted circle of 13 apostles, the original true
believers in Jesus as the prophet, to spread the word of God. Jesus himself would be the center piece.
His ability to cure the blind and heal the sick created a surreal aurora about him that interested
everybody. My favorite stories occur in Matthew 14 when Jesus feeds 5000 people with one loaf of
bread and one jug of wine. The turning point in Jesus life occurred during this time too when he
walked on water. He did not do this to persuade others or convince them of his god given powers. He
did this for his apostles and his apostles only. He wanted to show them true faith and belief in God and
the power it held. Peter was able to take a few steps towards Jesus, but when he became fearful and
lost his faith, he quickly sank. Jesus responded by telling him, You of little faith, why did you doubt
(Matthew 14:31). This moment marks a turning point in the Bible. From here on, the political
workings that would lead to his crucifixion had begun and Jesus knew he was running out of time.
The greatest moment in Jesus life is the Transfiguration of Jesus where Peter discovers first hand Jesus

This is a central question in the hotly debated issue of making English the official language of the
United States. If English did become the official language, the rights of people who do not speak
English would be violated and the nation would be further segregated. Just as schools were segregated
in our past, this again would show that segregation equals discrimination. People must understand that
every citizen deserves the right to celebrate their diversity. The government need not interfere with the
words that come out of people s mouths. In a country torn by prejudice and segregation, the official
language should serve as a reminder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, how can America promise that if its laws are intolerant to the immigrants languages? By not
accepting their language, they are immediately set up to be an outsider. They are seen as foreigners as
opposed to citizens. People who don t speak English are often assumed not to be Americans. In order
to assist in the conversion of the immigrants to a new society, is necessary to provide them with signs,
documents, ballots that they can understand.
As Dickstein points out, denying them of materials in their language does not help them learn English
any faster. He proposes that America should not be English only but strive to be English Plus. By this
he means that we should not prohibit the use of other languages in order to make immigrants speak
English. On the contrary, he suggests that English Plus, like English only, demands that everything
feasible be done to encourage all Americans to achieve a minimum level of competence in English
and to share a vision of what it means to be American. People who do not speak English should be
responsible for learning the language. America should make access to English classes more attainable
and widespread. After all, a person does not just pick up a language because the government requires
it. It takes months or even years of practice and hard work. So in the mean time, it makes no sense to
deny them of articles in their own languages.
America was once described as a melting pot . This

Jackie Robinson Challenges
Countless times people are faced with points in their lives, called turning points, that are complicated
and can either affect them in a good way, or worse way, such as Jackie Robinson, Melba Pattillo
Beals, along with Helen Keller who all decided that from these restrictions, they will learn and grow
They all work to overcome difficulties. Jackie Robinson, Melba Pattillo Beals, and Helen Keller each
overcame different challenges that change their lives, then eventually their countries. Jackie Robinson,
the first African American major league baseball (MLB) player, faced with the problem of racial
discrimination. Almost no one thought that an African American person would be able to play baseball
in the MLB. Robinson knew that his teammates refused to accept me because I was black (Robinson),

Beals was part of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African American students who went to a
segregated high school. She knew that some of the white people looked totally horrified, while others
raised their fists to us (Beals). Various people were mad about her along with the eight other students
involved in the Little Rock Nine going to the high school. Beals did not let that stop her from making
a vast difference in her own life, along with people around her, including every other African
American student. There were about fifty uniformed soldiers (Beals), even though that could have
scared her enough to make her criticize her decision to go to school, she decided stayed strong. She
felt proud and sad at the same time. Proud that I lived in a country that would go this far to bring
justice to a Little Rock girl like me, but sad that they had to go to such great lengths (Beals). Just
because others did not think Beals could make a difference, she did not let that stop her from believing

INTRODUCTION
A system is created to solve problems, for example, work out someone s wages. The systems approach
can be said to be an organised way of dealing and solving the problem.
A life cycle in system analysis is a term used to describe a process for planning, creating, testing, and
deploying an information system. The systems development life cycle concept applies to a range of
hardware and software configurations, as a system can be composed of hardware only, software only,
or a combination of both.
General system development life cycles that exist include: o Waterfall stages, requirements, design,
implementation, verification, maintenance. o Agile stages, define requirements, integrate test(X3),
feedback, approved? yes=release to market, no= record incorporate changes, adjust track, next
iteration (back to beginning). o Spiral plan, test, analyses, development of testing (back to the
beginning until everything is complete and there are not problems found in testing.)

The Route Less Taken Essay
Thud! I almost regretted buying my iPhone. What I regret even more was setting the alarm to 5:00am.
I rolled off the bed and felt an immediate blast of humidity. Slowly, the outline of my apartment
gained resolution. I could see a clear view of the tropical trees and the worn down apartment building.
The acrid smell of construction and rubber was relentless. I was careful not to wake my grandparents
or my sister and suddenly, I remember why I had my phone woken me up. Crap. Time to go jogging.
Before I left, I called the lobby for the temperature. आज मौसम कै सा है? My years of proficiency in
Hindi is acknowledged, yet the voice responds, 34 Degrees, Sir, in exceptional English.
I stepped outside my building and started jogging. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even in a globalized world of countries that are interdependent on one another, there still is progress
to be made. I could not help but smile.
Continuing my run, I reached the Ganges River, and surprisingly found my cousin, Archit, there. He is
studying to become a CA for Price Waterhouse Coopers India office. We talk of life and politics,
although with India s politics it seems the majority of people want progress. Progress for small
businesses and more support for the ideas that they create from both the government and businesses.
I felt obligated to represent my country as best I could, remarking on how Canadian businesses like
Selinger, a construction development company, and Blackberry have successfully entered the market,
created jobs for many unemployed people, and helped found hundreds of new ventures. It s not
enough, according to Archit. It s conversations like these that brought a new sense of urgency and
opportunity to my time in India.
Looking forward, I realize how useful The Schulich School of Business and its iBBA program could
be to me. The program would allow me to connect with more people and companies on an
international level, allowing me to effectively harness my newly acquired linguistic skills to gain a
global perspective, and help build sustainable solutions using all my experiences as a guide. This
would make me an

  • 2. Descriptive Essay On Maria Island Anna Maria Island One evening in April, we headed to Bishop airport in flint,to fly to Tampa, Florida. When we were at the airport I was so anxious. This was going to be my 5th time flying, so it wasn t that new to me. Our plane arrived at the airport at 8:00 pm and we were boarding at 8:30 pm. The plane ride took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We finally arrived in Tampa, Florida. My grandma and grandpa picked us up and we hit the road for about another hour. My aunt, uncle, and my two cousins were meeting us at the house we rented on Anna Maria Island. We crossed a huge bridge that took us to Anna Maria Island. We arrived at the house at midnight. The house had 4 rooms, 3 ½ baths, a big swimming pool with a hot tub, and was right by the ocean. My aunt, uncle, and my two cousins were unpacking all the food when we arrived. My sister and I went straight up to our room, there were two twin sized beds, and a closet. We unloaded and went to bed at 1 in the morning. The next day everyone woke up around the same time, my mom searched up the weather up, it was going to be a hot one, we knew it was going to be a beach day. We packed snacks, put our bathing suits on, and walked to the beach. Right away my cousins and I went to find shells, starfish, and sand dollars, I found a lot of shells, sand dollars, and my goal was to find a starfish, and I did. My mom called us over to eat our lunch, well we were eating our sandwiches on the beach, there were seagulls swooping down to get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Gender Roles In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe With the arrival of third wave feminism, gender roles are an increasingly popular topic for discussion, and literature is an effective catalyst for it. This is shown through Chinua Achebe´s 1958 novel Things Fall Apart, which discusses the effects of European colonization on African society, using a fictional group of Igbo villages as an example. His main character is Okonkwo, an aggressive and powerful male figure in the community. He is a prime example of how male gender expectations can negatively affect people. As Achebe states, fiction [is] entirely fictitious [but] it could also be true or false, not with the truth or falsehood of a news article but as to its disinterestedness, its intention, its integrity (Franklin 3). Clearly, he writes with the purpose of conveying truths through the broader untruth of fiction, and so could not have unintentionally created a character with such problems that are glaringly caused by gender roles. The way that Okonkwo embodies stereotypical gender expectations for men makes clear how they can be toxic to everyone. To effectively discuss anything, gender roles included, central terms need to be defined. Achebe sets this up for the reader in the beginning of the novel, to construct a basis on which to evaluate further as plot events unfold. He talks about Okonkwo encourag[ing] the boys to sit with him in his obi, and [telling] them stories of the land masculine stories of violence and bloodshed. Nwoye [,Okonkwo s son,] kn[ows] ... (Evolution is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth). Charles Darwin was the original founder of evolution. There are many theories out there that scientist have came up with and have come to believe through research on ancient organism remains, similarities of embryos, fossil records, and chemical and Anatomical similarities. Similarities of living organisms, this is the belief that organism came from one or two common organisms. A great example of this is houses, donkeys, and zebras, they are all similar organisms that have almost the same body structure, but they live in different parts of the world and have evolved and adapted to where they live so they can survive. (Scientists can compare the DNA of two organisms; the more similar the DNA, the more closely related the organisms). Similarities of embryos, an embryo is an unborn or unhatched child. Scientist say that many organisms have similar characteristics (This shows that the animals are similar and that they develop similarly, implying that they are related, have common ancestors and that they started out the same, gradually evolving different traits, but that the basic plan for a creature s beginning remains the same). • 5. An Definition Of Moral Theory Another moral theory, also born of Deontological Perspectives, comes from WD Ross. In contrast to Kant, who stated that moral positions can be deduced by reason and are absolutely binding, Ross believes that we determine moral positions through intuition of the rightness or wrongness on the action. This intuition allows us to determine what our duties are while these duties are not dependent on the outcomes or circumstances, but how we rank these duties is dependent on a situation. In turn, this creates what Ross refers to as Prima Facie duties. Prima Facie duties are duties that are obligatory duties that can be trumped by other duties depending on our situation. Ross gives an example of seven of these prima facie duties in his writings: beneficence, non maleficence, justice, self improvement, fidelity, reparation, and gratitude. These duties arise because we intuit them to be true and binding duties. In Ross s view, all of these duties are binding, but he does not exclude, as Kant does that these duties may overlap and run contrary to one another in any given situation. We can only act in accordance with what our perception is of the situation and try to do our best, but we may often fail as a result. While this theory is superior to Kant in that it does allow for more universal applicability and wiggle room to fit various cultures, the main issue with Ross s theory is that it relies on the intuition of flawed humans to determine self evident duties and does not ... • 6. The Causes And Contributions Of The Human Genome Project Human Genome Project A genome is the complete collection of an organism s genetic material. The human genome is composed of about 20,000 to 25,000 genes located on the 23 pairs of chromosomes in a human cell (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). According to the Human Genome Project (2000), A single human chromosome may contain more than 250 million DNA base pairs, and it is estimated that the entire human genome consists of about 3 billion base pairs. Now that we have identified what a genome is, we will now examine the Human Genome Project. The Human Genome Project (HGP) is a project that began in October of 1990 (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). The HGP lasted for 13 years, so the end of the project was in 2003. Mapping the entire human DNA sequence was the main purpose of the program (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). Associating specific human traits and inborn diseases with genes at exact locations on the chromosomes was the goal of genomic mapping and sequencing (HGP, 2000). Figure 1 below shows the timeline through which the Human Genome Project got completed. In 1990, the project commenced along with the Ethical, legal and social implication program (ELSI). Fast forwarding to 1995, where the human physical mapping goal was achieved. Then in 1999, the sequence of the first human chromosome was completed. Finally, in 2003, the project was completed. However, one could argue that there are better ways. That debate rages on between sportsmen and environmental conservationists alike. There are two big organizations when it comes to conserving waterfowl and wetlands, Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl. Both groups are able to raise millions of dollars for waterfowl due to their enormous amount of members. Ducks Unlimited tries to revert these watersheds back to their natural levels by draining the wetlands that have extremely high levels of contaminants in the water. They then clean the soil in the habitat and find a way to decrease the extra contaminates from entering the watershed. Next they will pump healthy water back into the wetlands and install buffer strips that act like a filter that will catch the extra nutrients and silt. The restoration of grasslands and forests is extremely important when it comes to breeding grounds for ducks. Dabbling Ducks use the tall grass found around ponds or in marshes to build nest and raise their young. Diving Ducks will flock to flooded forest areas and build a nest inside the holes of a tree and they will raise their young from above the ground. In recent years these habitats have been reduced significantly for farming and other purposes. In order to restore these habitats Ducks Unlimited must first purchase the land from the landowner. After they have the rights to the property they will begin to make changes to the area so it can be a more suitable ecosystem for waterfowl. There are differences between them, however, it is the equivalences that I want to focus on as they are what bind them. The three areas of focus are community, academic outreach, and the stories they share. Creating a strong and vibrant community is important to museums. Dr. Ronquillo, a leader a Philippine Archeology museum, so elegantly wrote, A properly planned community museum can express and elucidate the community s cultural wealth through the appropriate presentation and exhibition of their important natural and cultural heritage (Ronquillo, 1992). It is the community that keeps generation after generation coming back to see the history that us humans, the earth, and beyond have gone through. Humanitarian Intervention Vs Humanitarian Intervention Humanitarian intervention has been widely debated over the last couple of decades, causing arguments to rise of what constitutes humanitarian intervention and if the Responsibility to Protect doctrine has become to politicized to be reliable. These accounts are backed up on how interventions are being implemented through out the world in various intrastate and international conflicts. Humanitarian intervention and R2P have produced debates on the morality, legality, and operational credibility the organizations now retain. Along with these debates, concerns of NATO and the Security Council s actions bring to light the concern if humanitarian intervention can be relied on in effort of peace. These questions facilitate concern and instability throughout the world, and breeds inability for peace efforts to be conducted. As such, humanitarian intervention is a crucial effort towards peace; it subsequently undermines the issues surrounding sovereignty and the idea that sovereignty is the utmost importance to a state s livelihood. For humanitarian intervention and R2P to succeed, a reform needs to be implemented within the system; sovereignty should not be held authoritatively and states should be held accountable for their actions; regardless of their allies influential opinions. Why The Mona Lisa May Not Be A Painting Essay When it comes to art appreciation and definition one is left at odds when societal practices do not reflect theoretically sound arguments regarding the identity of a work. On one hand, paintings like the Mona Lisa are displayed with great importance in museums around the world, with thousands of visitors daily trekking to see the Mona Lisa, while just outside vendors are selling copies on canvas, poster and magnet of the very same image. To help in the understanding of this phenomenon, and to determine the work identity of the Mona Lisa, we shall examine the validity of arguments put forth by Frank Sibley in Why the Mona Lisa May Not be a Painting which draws upon several concepts of art identity put forth by Goodman and Elgin in Interpretation and Identity: Can the Work Survive the World? . After this examination I will briefly add on to Sibley s arguments bringing them a step further in conclusion, but let us first begin with the establishing principles of work identity proposed in the two articles. When introducing the concept of text being equal to work, Goodman proposes literary pluralism; where one text produces one work with multiple valid, and allowably contradictory, interpretations. This pluralism is present only in allographic art forms that are not linked to physical objects. Pluralism about literature seems more plausible than pluralism about reality . When the body is inflicted with a penetrating wound, vessels and tissue fibers are ripped and broken. The area is then filled with leaking blood from the surrounding vessels and the outermost blood flow begins to form a scab. The surrounding vessels at that time constrict to minimize the blood leakage in a process known as vasoconstriction. The first step of the body is to clot the blood and achieve hemostasis, or blood clotting to impede blood leakage. The blood also coagulates, forming into a gel like substance from its liquid state. The area of damage undergoes the coagulation cascade in which a fibrin clot is made. Blood platelets begin to release inflammatory factors and express glycoproteins on the cell membranes, a sticky like protein, in order to aggregate. Herpes is not far behind HIV, with one in every five adolescent and adults become infected and two thirds of that number are young adults under the age of 25 (Teen Help). This STD is also incurable and secretly lives in the body, leaving the person to only guess when an outbreak will happen. Because many adolescents underestimate their infection risk and they have mistaken ideas about what protect them from STDs and what does not, (Brückner 277) many do not take the proper precautions necessary to protect themselves. The roots for such a union began in 1818 when a variety of smaller customs unions were created amongst the German states. These smaller customs ultimately led to the Zollverein treaties of 1833, which in turn led to the creation of the Zollverein on January 1, 1834. This union improved the economies of the member states by stimulating the trade of those involved, as well as the unification of one single currency. All each side needed was an excuse or a reason to go to war with one another. Such a pretext seemed to present itself in a decision made by a third party, Spain. In 1869, the Spanish parliament offered the nephew of the King that appointed Otto von Bismarck, Prince Leopold, the Spanish throne. Bismarck saw this as the opportunity he needed in order to go to war with France because with Spain being the country that borders France on the Western side of Europe, there would be a Prussian Monarchy on either side of France. Although, at the request of France, Wilhelm I rescinded the decision to send his nephew to the Spanish throne. Bismarck was not pleased by the decision as he saw that as his opportunity to defeat France and unify the Germanic states into one full entity. France however took this modest victory to the head and soon demanded in 1870 that King Wilhelm I issue a document that renounce any and all future claims to the Spanish throne, stating as well that any attempt to do so would result ... In this respect I argue that it is the sort of theory which is not easily amenable to crucial test, as Wahba and Bridwell accept. This would usually be seen as a shortcoming. I here argue that, on the contrary, it is one of the qualities which gives the theory its power. The third ground is that the theory itself can be refined. To get a job that will pay substantially more than with just a high school degree, it is becoming more and more common for high school graduates to go straight to college. With the price of college skyrocketing, it is extremely common to take out student loans (from the government or private institutions), all which come with interest. This paper will focus on the different aspects of student debt, including rates, how they compare with car and mortgage debt, forbearance and deferment, default and delinquency, and adverse selection and moral hazard. The interest rates on federal student loans are set every year depending on the 10 year treasury note rate in addition to a fixed percentage depending on the loan type. They are set by the United States Congress. Depending on the type of loan you acquire, your rate will be different. The theory is that these Flashbulb Memories will not only enhance the memory itself, but will make certain aspects of the memory more vivid and detailed. First, the Flashbulb Memory should be defined. Flashbulb memories are emotional memories that are remembered with great vivid detail and are almost photo like. For example, if someone were to experience a horrid natural disaster, they would most likely remember the situation more vividly than people not actually there. This instance is exactly what Brown and Kulik were trying to show in 1977, and what Conway was trying to express in 1994. They were dealing with the concept of ... The results were: one day after the disaster, 215 of the participants said that they heard about the disaster on television. Two and a half years later 45% of the participants claimed to have heard of the event on the television. Their memories of how they learned the news about the challenger disaster changed over time and was a huge loophole in the studies in favor of flashbulb memory. Through this study it can be concluded that flashbulb memories are not reliable and may in fact just be ordinary memories. From Brown and Kulik to Neisser and Harsch we arrive at completely different conclusions. There are many strengths to these studies, as they were all with real events that would have affected people emotionally, but some of the studies were lacking in validity. The studies that recorded before and after seemed to be more compelling than the ones that just assumed a certain answer. However, the longer the duration of time between the before and after results most likely produced more variables being tested, rather than just one. Based on the studies outlined it only seems accurate that these flashbulb memories actually exist and affect our memory. The real analysis of these findings are how they actually influence behavior. Emotion can affect memory, and ultimately behavior in someone s life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Total Number Of Valid Sudoku Grids The Total Number of Valid Sudoku Grids Introduction Sudoku s roots can be traced back to 1780 s Switzerland, when Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler developed Latin Squares the concept of arranging symbols within a grid such that each symbol would appear only once in each row or column which is the basis of Sudoku. Thus, most would attribute the invention of Sudoku to Switzerland, even though the puzzle s name consists of two Japanese characters: su (which means number ) and doku (which means single ). I, along with many others around the world, enjoy the challenge that Sudoku puzzles present, and have done so since I was about twelve years old.
