STAGES OF
GROWTH
Pre-natal Period

Infancy
• First two weeks after birth
Babyhood
• second week to second year
Childhood
• second years to 6 years,
corresponding to pre-school years
Late childhood
• from six to eleven or twelve years
corresponding to the elementary
school years.
Puberty
• End of childhood and the
beginning of adolescence
Adolescence
• puberty to about seventeen years
• late adolescence, 17 years to 21
years
