Four Spheres of the Earth
The Earth is device into 4
“sub-systems” or Sphere
namely :
 Atmosphere(Gaseous)
 Hydrosphere(Water)
 Geosphere(Rock)
 Biosphere(Life)
They are connected in
systems, Interdependent,
and function as a whole.
The biosphere is the
portion of the Earth
that is inhabited by
life
• Earth’s organisms
live in the
biosphere.
• The biosphere
consists of the parts
of the planet in
which all life exists.
What is Biosphere
THE ATMOSPHERE, OCEAN, AND LAND INTERACT IN
WAYS THAT DETERMINE LIVING CONDITIONS
THROUGHOUT THE BIOSPHERE.
• Humans have become major
players in these interactions
even thought we do not fully
understand how they work!
• We have the population size,
technology, and desire to
alter our environment at
an astonishing rate and
magnitude!
The growth in human
population and
industrialization has
resulted in the
extinction of a
number of flora and
fauna by
deforestation.
The negative impact of
humans on the biosphere
Burning of fossil fuels,
automobile exhausts, gaseous
effluents from factories have
led to pollution of land, air
and water and its related
consequences.
Hunting of animals and birds
and introduction of new
predators in the environment
has caused extinction of some
species.
The positive impact
of humans on the
biosphere
Humans are
responsible for
the introduction
of new species
of plants from
one part of the
world to
another
Wind Power
Solar energy
Hydroelectric power
Human are responsible for finding new way renewable
resource of energy to preserve of energy we have
without causing more damage to the environment.
- Human are also a huge factor in controlling wildfires
protection. many forest and wooded areas are saved and
protected due to the awareness and control of fires by
human.
- Humans protect the native and endangered species. This
allow species to survive, as humans are aware and take action
to help and prevent extinction.
By selective breeding,
Humans have improved the
yields of crops.
Conclusion !
